Today, we're diving into one of our all time favorite mysteries - the disappearance of the Sodder Children! If a house burns down with a number of people in it, why are there no bones or bone fragments? Where else could the children have gone? And why did the Sodder family receive a photo decades after the children's disappearance claiming to be one of the disappeared, if there was never any additional evidence of survivors? And WHY would someone call laughing and clinking glasses right before the Sodder family home burned down? All these questions asked but not answered on today's episode!
We've seen our fair share of heinous crimes that involved a snap - someone had a life-altering moment and lost their mind, leading to the frenzied commission of a horrible crime. The case we're discussing today (in our opinions) is not that. Sydney Powell was a college student who was expelled when her grades dipped below probation standards. Instead of coming home with her tail between her legs, she lied to her parents and continued to live in/around the dorms and even attend classes. When it appeared that the "jig was up" because Sydney's mother, Brenda, got a phone call from Sydney's university, Sydney brutally murdered her mother with a frying pan.
Today we're talking about our impressions of the 2024 Presidential Election, as well as reminding all women to know your rights, especially on the road alone at night. We're covering the murder of Aimee Willard, an accomplished and bright college student who was home in the Philly suburbs for the summer. Aimee was brutally murdered on the off-ramp of a Philly suburban highway; investigators think the murder was committed by a fake police officer. We're giving you tips to make sure you're safe on the road as a woman traveling alone.
You all remember Shelby's Sweetheart, the story of a little girl who seemed to willingly wander off in the early morning hours of Valentine's Day, 2001, never to be seen again. When we last discussed the Asha Degree mysterious disappearance case, there seemed to be no hope for resolution. But much like many other cases that are seeing a renaissance in 2024, Asha Degree's case is no different. In a shocking twist of fate, new information came out this fall that sheds some light on Asha's disappearance. Though we don't have anything concrete, we're much closer than we have been in over 20 years.
Whether it's the principle of things of the principal of Upper Merion High School, this murder/kidnapping case has got everyone whipped into an absolute frenzy - and so many questions still remain unanswered! Where are Sue's children? Who would senselessly murder an innocent English teacher? And maybe most importantly, who would ever hire a staff like this to work at a high school? Tune in and listen to part 2 of this mystery, which in many ways still has us baffled.
What was Upper Merion High School thinking back in the day? It seems like they were out to hire every unfaithful criminal in the Rolodex! We're (finally!) wrapping up our Main Line Murders series, and unfortunately, it's going to leave us with a lot more questions than answers. These questions include: Who killed Sue Reinert? Where are her children? And what ever happened to Jay Smith's good-for-nothing daughter and son-in-law?
There are a lot of parts of this case that are confusing. First off, why is it called the "Main Line Murders" when it starts with a naked body in the trunk of a car in Harrisburg? Second, Why did Upper Merion High School insist on hiring a felonious principal and a staff that was sleeping together? Finally, and most disturbingly, why didn't we ever find Sue Reinert's children, Karen and Michael? Tune in now to hear about how love, money, and murder all go together - and how somehow the backdrop of our case is a Main Line high school.
93. Jen-Air on the Side of Caution (Meredith Chapman, Jennair Gerardot - Murder Suicide) by Betsy Boss Podcast
The title of this episode says it all - or asks it all - was the death of Ellen Greenberg a murder or a suicide? Even the medical examiners and the detectives couldn't agree. Ellen was a young girl who seemed to have it all - a fiance who loved her, a chic apartment in Philadelphia's Manayunk neighborhood, and a gorgeous smile. What could have gone wrong to make her want to end it all? Listen now to find out and sound off in the comments - did Ellen kill herself or have the most advanced assailant of all time, capable of murder without a trace?
Listen. No, listen carefully. We mean, you're going to want to turn your volume WAY up for this one. Kevin Franke may be soft spoken, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have a LOT to say. We're praying "Heaven, help us!" or should we say "Kevin, help us!" because this week we're hearing the ultimate clips from Kevin Franke's police interview. Was Jodi self harming or just embarrassed of her arms? Did she have horrific hygiene or was she just depressed? The answers to these questions and more are just behind the "PLAY" button.
It's another inside look at the Kevin Franke police interviews, and you're not going to want to miss this one. Things are about to get really creepy, and we're not talking about Poltergeist here (or are we?) - we've got objects flying off the walls, scary noises, trances, all kinds of demonic activities surrounding our good friend (worst enemy) Jode the Chode. When faced with all this weirdness, would you choose to run and hide, or would you double down, kick out your husband, and start sleeping in bed with the person bringing on the creepiness? We'll give you one guess as to which one Ruby chose.
We're rolling the tapes back now. We've been building up anticipation about Kevin Franke's interview with the police, and we promise it won't disappoint. Kevin's testimony is important for a number of different ways, most notably for the things he says and the way he says them. You'll hear Kevin touch on all different topics like how Ruby and Jodi first met, how he was swindled into ConneXions via Jodi's famous Men's Group offerings, and what made Jodi such a compelling personality when it came to getting folks on board in a cult. You'll hear Kevin's zombie-like delivery and you might even hear him snap out of it for a bit… only to retreat back into the darkness again.
It's time to hear the letters that Ruby Franke's family wrote in her defense. And let's just say, they aren't the best. Ruby's parents and her brother wrote two letters defending her honor, and we think it's safe to say that even with these letters in mind, we're not batting an eyelash at Ruby's prison sentence. We're reading both letters to you, and we want to hear all of your criticisms! We'll then dive into Jode the Chode's miserable excuse for a speech at her sentencing - it left a lot to be desired. But see what you think and let us know!
The sentencing hearings came and went, and FRANK-ly, we're not buying Ruby's apology statement. The whole thing reads very much like an Oscar acceptance speech, and she doesn't help her case by conflating ducks and chickens. We're diving back into the Ruby Franke/8 Passengers saga because there is a lot more information that came to light over the past several weeks. You're not going to believe some of the information we're going to share with you.
We're completing our Lyon sisters two-episode special with the same question we had going in: why can't Lloyd Welch stop lying? Through many more interrogations (8 to be exact), Lloyd lies his way through discussions with the police. From small details to huge turning points, Lloyd's lies take all forms and sizes. However, you'll be happy to learn that in spite of Lloyd's many lies, police were able to identify and isolate a common thread of truth, and it's all centered around a very creepy basement. Join us down the steps to the basement if you dare, and try not to trip on any lies on your way down.
Why you always LYON? Today, you'll be asking that of one of the police's prime informants, Lloyd Welch. On tonight's episode, we'll be talking about the very sad and extremely mysterious disappearance of the Lyon sisters in 1975. The sisters were young; both were preteens simply trying to enjoy the beginning of their spring break at the local mall in their Maryland suburb. Unfortunately, predators lurked around every corner. Join in to find out which one of the (strangely, many) was guilty of the girls' kidnapping.
Finally, we're on Episode 8 of our 8 Passengers series, and it's been a wild ride! We are so thankful to all of the listeners who have been "passengers" on this journey, and for sticking it out far longer than the Franke family lizard ever could! This week, we cover the arrest of Jodi and Ruby, what was found in Jodi's home post-arrest (including a super creepy "safe room" that we at Betsy Boss have aptly renamed the "unsafe room") and how much Jodi's house is selling for... we'll give you a hint: it's a multimillion dollar figure. Though the Franke children have a long road ahead of them, we're hopeful that restoring their "conneXions" with Kevin and the rest of their family will help them on their path to recovery. Stay tuned though, because there's more to come on Ruby and Jodi's situation on February 20, 2024.
Today is the 7th installment of our 8 Passengers series. If you haven't figured out where we're going with this yet, we'll tell you: this is going to be an 8 episode series! Today, we're discussing Jodi's infiltration of the Franke family and how her 24/7, around-the-clock "counseling services" led to her living in the Franke household and kicking out Ruby's husband, Kevin. It's a harrowing tale, but someone's got to tell it, and we at Betsy Boss are fully prepared to take you all along for the ride.
In this installment of our 8 Passengers/Ruby Franke/Jodi Hildebrandt series, we are going deeper into the story of another one of Jodi's victims, Adam Paul Steed. As was her customary “treatment plan,” Jodi isolated Adam from his wife in one of her “group programs,” then alienated the couple from one another by telling lies and building suspicion about Adam. If you had any doubts about how truly evil and corrupt Jodi's history is, this episode will set you straight for sure. While we won't make any judgments or claims about Jodi's sexuality (which has been widely questioned and disputed), we will give you all the facts about Jodi's patterns and practices that revolve around man-hating and couple alienation. One thing is for sure: Jodi may have tried to destroy Adam Paul Steed's life and she may have come close, but Adam's strength and determination helped him move forward from her abuse and reclaim his life in a new marriage.
First off, come join us to celebrate Gypsy Rose Blanchard's freedom from prison! It's December 28 (recording day) and gypsy has just been released from prison for conspiring to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. It was “kill or be killed” in this situation, and we are firm believers that Gypsy has earned her freedom. We speak for all of the Tipsy Hoes for Gypsy Rose when we say we hope our girl gets her wish to meet Taylor Swift. When we get into the subject of this episode, we unload the story of Jessi Hildebrandt, the niece of Jodi Hildebrandt who is thought to be one of Jodi's initial victims roughly ten years before the abuse of the Franke children.
Here we are again with our forth installment of the wild tale of Ruby Franke and her 8 Passengers vlog. This time, though, we're focusing in on Jodi Hildebrandt, a top recommended therapist on the Mormon bishops' list of approved practitioners. But we'll all come to find out that Jodi's methods were anything but orthodox and that her couples therapy often centered around alienating wives from their husbands and coercing them to join Jodi's side. Listen in to learn how Jodi's behaviors were anything but new with the Franke family; in fact she had been committing the same forms of abuse over a decade earlier against none other than her own family members. This story is far from over and we're just peeling back the layers of the "onion with an octopus in the middle" in the words of Kevin Franke's all-too-vocal attorney.
Today, December 18, 2023, Ruby Franke entered a plea deal. In the interest of keeping everyone advised to the day, we're adding a bonus episode to Episode 79. Listener discretion is advised as the allegations in the Plea are incredibly disturbing and may be unsuitable for certain more sensitive audiences and situations.
Ok, ladies and germs, it's Round 3 of our most influencer case that ever influenced - the case of Jodi Hildebrandt, Ruby Franke, and the vlog 8 Passengers. This week, we're talking about why Flo Rida was such a hot topic at one Franke child's school, and why Kevin Franke felt the need to read the lyrics to "Low" out loud in front of administrators, teachers, and other parents. We start to look more at Jodi Hildebrandt and how she infiltrated the Franke family so easily and seamlessly. We also start to see the breakdown between Ruby and Kevin. But first, what's got Kevin in so much trouble that he's sleeping on a beanbag for 7 months? Why did Santa Claus NOT come to town for two Franke children one Christmas? And how does staying home from school to clean the floorboards build character? That is, unless you're too "numb" to get the message. All these answers and many, many more (plus a few more questions) are yours when you click the link to this episode on Spotify or iTunes!
This week, we dive deeper into the story of Ruby Franke and her family of 8 (passengers) and discover where it all went wrong. Where we left off last week, Ruby and her family were catapulted to social media fame through Ruby's YouTube platform and the cash was rolling in! Ruby learned the art of influencing before it was called influencing - she was grabbing brand deals galore aimed at moms who identified with her, and to her audience and followers, everything looked great. However, something nasty was brewing under the surface, and the first manifestation of this rottenness was with Ruby's oldest son, Chad. This week, we'll talk about how Chad's normal teenage behavior was brutally punished with a several months-long trip to the wilderness. We'll talk about how the money from YouTube stardom was used and the difficulties the family had adjusting. Finally, and most importantly, we'll introduce you to Jodi Hildebrandt, the Mormon-mandated therapist who used the Franke family's trust to make sweeping change. But what was stronger to Jodi? The rules of being a moral and upstanding therapists, or the judgment of the Mormon church? We'll leave it to you to figure it out!
Vlogging. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. And unfortunately, the people getting hurt in this story are all children. This week, we're going back in time to when "influencer" was still a term no one knew, and YouTube was a place to be creative online, not a place to make money. Ruby Franke got in on the cutting edge right as YouTube and online influencing were taking off in a huge way. She took to her computer to vlog her experience as a Mormon mom caring for 6 children (6 of the aptly titled vlog "8 Passengers," a title representing the whole Franke family). She never could have known that her personal stories about parenting would lead to the whole Internet realizing she was an unfit and even dangerous mother. Join in and listen to this cautionary tale about one of the all-time worst "oversharers," and how documenting your whole life can come back to bite you.
We've covered a lot of topics on Betsy Boss, spanning lots of time, but we never could have guessed that some of these topics would pop off roughly three years later! This episode, we're harkening back to some of our favorite most fascinating topics: Jonbenet Ramsey, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Natalee Holloway and the Delphi Murder. We bet you never would have known that novel evidence and a reexamination of old evidence might be enough to exonerate Jonbenet's family members, 27 years after the crime occurred! Also - someone's getting off for good behavior and it's our girl, Gypsy, who we were rooting for the whole time (not to endorse murder, but Dee Dee may have had it coming). We've also got a chilling confession that gives the Holloway family the closure they've sought for years. Finally, could a reconstructionist religious organization branding itself as “folkish” be the key to solving the Delphi murder? If you've been dying for conclusions to these true crime mysteries as much as we have, tune in and listen!
Today, we're going to "Na-Tell-Ya" about a case near and dear to our hearts - it's the curious case of Natalia Grace! What could a disabled little person adopted from the Ukraine be accused of, when her disabilities kept her from caring for herself? It turns out, just about everything up to and including attempted murder! The Barnetts seemed to have their hearts in the right place when they adopted 6-year-old Natalia from Ukraine, but when they began accusing her of poisoning them, standing over their bed with sharp objects, and pushing them into electrical wire, the tables turned. Who's at fault here? Natalia or her adoptive parents? Listen in to decide!
If you've got a fear or heights OR a fear of being abducted, run as fast as you can! This week's episode is about the Delphi/Snapchat murder! This week, Snapchat is the key to the crime and the suspect - we're going to the town of Delphi (which has a population less than 3,000!) to the top of a rickety old bridge for this story; that's where the Snapchat photos in question were taken. Brace yourself - as with so many of our cases, this one does not have a happy ending. However, we're blown away by the quick thinking of one teen victim who documented what would become the last moments of her life. In doing so, she left a trail of bread crumbs to her killer.

We're wrapping up our University of Idaho/Moscow series with an episode all about our primary suspect - Brian Kohberger. We're talking about who he is, where he came from, and how the police zeroed in on him as the main suspect in this dreadful crime. We can't say we disagree with them, since he left a well-sanitized trail of medical gloves, categorized garbage and plastic baggies behind him.
We've got something extra scary in store for you tonight on Betsy Boss - it's the second part of our University of Idaho murder series and we're getting into the nitty gritty of everything that happened that night. We're delving into the crime scene - how things looked the morning after the murders, who was left standing and our theories as to why. We're also covering the 911 call that has everyone from armchair detectives to experts vexed - why did it take 8 hours from the murder for someone to call the police? We'll be sharing our thoughts and the thoughts of law enforcement. So come on a wild ride with us as we trace the killer's exact steps through 1122 King Road - you'll want to listen to this one in a well-lit, totally secured room!
On today's episode of Betsy Boss, we're addressing a particularly grisly murder mystery - the University of Idaho murder from November, 2022. Four University of Idaho students were killed in the vicious crime: Ethan Chapin, 20, of Conway, Washington; Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum, Idaho; Xana Kernodle, 20, of Avondale, Arizona (she later lived in Post Falls, Idaho); and Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There's a lot that's confusing about this murder from the house where it took place to the fact that it all went down in 25 minutes (or less)! Come set the stage with us so we can dive further into this mystery together next week with thoughts, theories and predictions for the trial which is set for June, 2023.
You might not understand why yet, but after you listen to this episode, you'll be saying "we're glad your mom died, too" to Jennette McCurdy! Born into a Mormon fundamentalist family and homeschooled her whole educational life, Jennette McCurdy was pushed by her mother from almost babyhood to become a Nickelodeon child star. The lengths Jennette's mother went to in order to escalate her daughter's rise to fame were boundless. Whether it was bleaching her 10 year old daughter's hair and whitening her teeth, showering her and dressing her like a baby doll, or forcing her into auditions when she was ill, Debra McCurdy was ready, willing and able to go the abusive distance needed to make Jennette famous. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Debra did meet her demise, but once she did Jennette could finally live her own life on her own terms.
In this week's episode, we're continuing the Nickelodeon trend from Dan Schneider to Amanda Bynes, America's sweetheart turned internet provocateur turned fashion designer turned manicurist extraordinaire! We'll explore Amanda's early career - how her stint at comedy camp skyrocketed her into fame and the ways in which money, drugs and twitter drove her to a very dark place. Don't worry, though - this story has a happy ending just like all of Amanda's amazing flicks - Amanda is taking on a new trade these days - Manicuring!
Hot and fresh from the oven, we're selling you a cake that you'll never want to eat. Dan Schneider is well-known by 90s kids as the Nickelodeon executive that had the "magic touch" for decades - everything Schneider touched became a sensation. Schneider worked exclusively on children's television. What is most interesting about Dan Schneider's conduct isn't what was found during an investigation, but what wasn't. Though Dan acted inarguably inappropriately with the child stars in his employ, there was never any (reported) overt sexual abuse. There was, however, plenty of covert abuse. Tune in and learn how one man's conduct influenced the mental well-being of a generation of child stars, and why Florida was chosen as NIckelodeon headquarters... we'll give you a hint: it isn't because the Everglades are crawling with child stars.
If we didn't convince you last time not to take cruises, this week's episode ought to do it. We're telling you all the ways you can die on a cruise, and you're going to want to hold onto your life jackets and prepare the life boats for this one! Amy Bradley was like us - she wasn't a big fan of cruises and didn't want to go on a family trip, which was a tropical cruise. In spite of her better judgment, Amy decided to go with her family on what would become the last trip of her life. What's really gripping about this case is how many anonymous tipsters came out of the woodwork to report that they had seen Amy. Some of the tipsters even went to extraordinary lengths to fabricate photos and spent years “tracking Amy” in Curaçao. Sadly, though, Amy still has not been found. Join us and let us know your theories! Was Amy taken or was she simply the victim of too much partying and a strong wind on the cruise ship's balcony?
Finally, we at Betsy Boss are striking fear into the hearts of a group so happy go lucky that you never thought it possible before - no, we don't mean Disney adults. We're talking about honeymooners! For these three couples, life was as good as it gets. They were fresh off their nuptials and headed somewhere tropical… and wet. All three of these murders happened on or around water, and you're not going to believe how one perpetrator attempted to escape! Don't worry, though, he was turned in by a group of friendly aboriginals and brought to justice! Strap on your life vest, listeners, because we're taking on water!
This might be our creepiest story yet. It's got nothing to do with women this time, but our last episode provided the perfect segue, and we just couldn't resist this INSANE topic. Otto Warmbier made the fateful decision to study abroad in North Korea. Unfortunately, he paid for this choice with his life. Otto came to North Korea a bright eyed 21 year old full of promise and hope for the future. Through circumstances unknown to us, he left in a vegetative state. Otto was accused by the North Korean government for stealing a propaganda poster, and we can truly say that the punishment did not match the crime. Listen in to hear how vastly different North Korea's justice system is from ours, and why you should never trust a study abroad program with a tagline "we take you to places your mother wouldn't want you to go."
We bet you haven't heard this story before! This week we're doing a very under-represented story, and one that will likely sound like fiction to many listeners. For a period of time, the Korean government was kidnapping Japanese citizens from shore towns for various purposes ranging from tutoring in the Japanese language to spy activity. We cover a number of stories of the kidnapped and their children - many of whom didn't even know they were Japanese! We hope the strength of the kidnapped inspires and that this tale will remind everyone that even when your life is completely uprooted, you can go on to live a happy and wonderful life.
The case of Lauren Smith-Fields is sad for many reasons; first, it's the loss of a 23-year-old life. But secondly, it's the gross mishandling of a case that could have been given much more attention. Today, we're giving Lauren's story the air-time it deserves, and providing online dating safety tips for you to know and share so that your dream date doesn't turn into a nightmare.
Brace yourself, folks - you're in for a grim and grisly ride with Betsy Boss. We're unpacking all the uncomfortable details of this wild case, from how the bodies were found to where the case is now (yes, it's still going). Unfortunately, even though we told you we would be impartial and give multiple sides to the story, we're pretty much settling on the fact that the culprit was Scott Peterson and not Pott Sketerson or even Pott Concreterson. But who was the real victim, here besides Laci? We think it was the dog-loving community, and we'll tell you why!
This one is a listener request that we were very interested in exploring! Laci Peterson was a young, unsuspecting future mom who, years prior, walked into the clutches of a handsome golfer/boater with a head full of cruel intentions. While Laci Peterson was pregnant with the couple's son, Scott was conniving and scheming to get out “Scott Free” and get in with hot, young mom, Amber Frye. Who would have thought that what started as a torrid affair would turn to murder? Betsy Boss is looking into motivations and alternative explanations you've never heard before in Part 1 of this multi-part episode.
This episode truly proves that mo' money = mo' problems; at least it did for poor (yet extremely rich) Sarah Winchester, who lost her husband and daughter to diseases of the day back in the 1920s. Sarah sought the help of a psychic, who clearly had a vendetta against Sarah's family business - Winchester Rifles. As such, she told Sarah that in order to escape the ghosts of the people her family's rifles had killed, Sarah needed to move across the country, build a mansion, and NEVER STOP BUILDING until the DAY SHE DIED. Seems like a tall order from a psychic. WE AINT AFRAID OF NO GHOSTS! Tune in and make the choice for yourself: was Sarah Winchester just a bad designer, or was she terrified of ghosts?
We're finishing up our Josh Duggar Trial series with some final Reddit Revelations! Tune in to hear about why Josh's dastardly deeds went unchecked for so long, and what was done (or attempted) behind the scenes by other fundie family members to try to get Josh to justice. At last, Josh is behind bars where he belongs and hopefully getting a stern talking to by the other inmates. But we can all agree that this took far longer than it should have.
This week on Betsy Boss, we're rounding up all the Reddit revelations we could find that came out after the Josh Duggar trial (and guilty verdict). You aren't going to want to miss this if you're a die hard fan of Josh Duggar (spending his life behind bars). We have folks coming out of the woodwork from friends to family to fellow fundies begging the Reddit universe to ask them anything via Reddit's "AMA" function. And don't worry, the Redditors asked and we're here to report the responses. This is going to be a rousing and revealing episode to shake the ages, baffle us all and think "how in the hell did this man not get nailed sooner?"
This week on Betsy Boss, we're covering the second part of the Duggar trial and we've got testimony that'll make your hair stand on end. Join us to learn what the Duggar family and their friends are hiding, and how we think the defense and its experts repeatedly failed to prove Josh's innocence. The prosecution and its experts are the true heroes of this trial - they not only showed mastery of this incredibly complex subject matter, they also were able to translate loads of "tech talk" to the jury in a way that made enough sense for them to convict Josh on both counts.
You asked, we're delivering! Betsy Boss is back from winter break to report on the Josh Duggar trial! Between the weak defense handling, the overuse of passwords on Josh's computer, and the sometimes shocking degree of incestuousness between these fundamentalist families, we're not holding any opinions back this time. We guarantee we'll be giving you details you've never heard before and can't get anywhere else. This week, we're covering the first week of the trial. Next week, we'll dive into revelations and surprising discoveries from the court. Get ready, because we're giving you every dirty detail of Josh's dastardly deeds - Justice is served, and we're not talking about one of Josh's siblings!
We're rounding out our Brittany Murphy episode with a second part where we discuss the various conspiracy theories surrounding her death. Was it poison? Murder? Mold? Tune in to find out! We'll also be touching on the Josh Duggar trial, which is wrapping up as we speak! As the jury deliberates, Betsy Boss is keeping you all on speed dial to let you know what happens! We'll be talking more about Josh Duggar next week and hopefully celebrating a verdict that brings some justice to his victims.
It's the week of Thanksgiving, and one thing we're truly thankful for this year is that we never got tangled up with someone like Simon Monjack. Since we were too young to understand it while it was happening, we're taking a walk down memory lane with the life and sudden death of Brittany Murphy, a star who got mixed up with the wrong guy during a vulnerable time, and didn't live to tell the tale. In Part 1, we'll tell you about Brittany's rise to fame: how she was a talented, garrulous child from early on and was desperate to be on stage. We'll discuss how desperation drove her to extremes - extreme dieting, weight loss, and changes to her appearance; Brittany was willing to do anything to fit the "Hollywood image." Finally, we'll tell you about her death; how severe anemia allowed pneumonia to take Brittany down when she should have been robust and strong at only 32. Next week, we'll get into some of the conspiracy theories but this week is about laying the foundation so you can decide for yourself: was this the tale of a star who burned too bright and finally burned out, or was this foul play by a jealous and controlling husband who wouldn't release his grip?
When Gabby Petito disappeared, potentially at the hands of her fiancé Brian, it took the world by storm - especially those of us in Gen Z who had access to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, all of which boasted a wide array of conspiracy theories from the case's inception to present day. One thing was for sure amidst all the confusion: Gen Z was hot on the trail and wanted answers - immediately! So folks took to their iPhones, tablets, laptops, and Droids to explore the evidence and come up with any theory they could to explain the mysterious disappearance of the seemingly perfect Gabby. Now, we have answers that the original speculators didn't have access to: the bodies of both Gabby and Brian have been found, putting to bed many of the theories that seemed so possible mere months ago. Some of what happened still remains a mystery. Betsy Boss is here to explore all of the conspiracy theories that came out of this tragic case. Although the TikTokers couldn't find Gabby alive, we'll tell you how social media played a part in putting the pieces of this mystery together.
