Philly Mag's 50 Best Restaurants issue has arrived. Love it or hate it, the list serves as a pretty good resource for finding the top spots in the city, so naturally, we kickoff the show with a blind test, quizzing each other on how many we've been to. The real surprise comes later in the show when a few of the random spots we mention as our favorites pop up in the Top 50. It's nice to see how Philly Mag mixed a few gems into the list and really blew our minds. Speaking of blowing minds, today's guest is really good at that. Dave Wez, known in the metaverse as @FeedingTimeTV, has a high energy, adventurous, relatable, and very funny food enthusiast IG account that started as a fun cooking show and then turned into a series of videos showing off all the bars and restaurants that Dave himself wants you to discover. Follow for his South Fellini wardrobe, stay for his instantly loveable Korean + Japanese + Polish + Italian personality. In Best Bites," Eli found his perfect swordfish filet in South Philly. Dave is bringing back the crab rangoon, and Marisa discovered the ideal cheese plate. Back to the 50 Best Restaurants Congrats to Her Place Supper Club! Geez, we want to say that 2022 is your year, but it looks like 2023 is going to top that! We go over the top 10, or 13, or so. This list is kind of like our Super Bowl. Food news brings the demise of Streeteries, conveyor belt sushi, a deep South Philly fresh pasta joint, a baby ban, and… updates to Delicious City Supper Club. It sold out – quickly – so we added a second seating. That's not all; we have a charity partner, Share Food Program. Executive Director, George Matysik, dropped by to enlighten us about this wonderful organization helping people across the region. Oh, and Eli might go vegan? We'll see.

I think we can all agree that the most eventful thing to happen in the last two years was the launch of the South Fellini podcast: Legends Of Philadelphia. And today we're celebrating our 100th episode. Usually we take a pause every ten episodes to look back at the previous episodes to discuss some errors and omissions. To mark the special occasion we're going to do some Q&A as well. So settle in and join us for a trip down memory lane.
We're taking a break from our usual format this week to talk about the history of South Fellini. This is the legendary tale of two Philly youths who loved making silly shirts. We cover everything from drawing on undershirts to iron-on bootlegs, and the very first official South Fellini tee. So join Tony Trov and Johnny Zito for a trip down memory lane as we examine the Dawn of South Fellini.

This week on Betsy Boss, we're getting back to our roots - and back to our namesake (Betsy Ross) with Philly's own Tony Trov. Tony is 1/2 of the Philadelphia obsession known as South Fellini, a boomingly popular retailer selling everything from t-shirts to enamel pins to beanies to caps, all proudly displaying fun Philadelphia phrases and themes! Learn how Tony and his best friend-turned-business partner Johnny Zito went from the comic book industry to the streets of Philadelphia with their creative and cheeky Philly spirit. We'll tell you about what makes Johnny and Tony's business work, besides the fact that they're equal parts Philly pride and artistic talent! Our conversation with Tony is a fusion between an Eagles pep rally, Philadelphia Restaurant Week and Rosetta Stone for Philly slang! Tony's enthusiasm for what he does is contagious; that is, as long as you're not from New York City.
This week we’re going to do something a little different. We’re going to talk about a product South Fellini offers. It’s called The Palette of Philadelphia. It’s a carefully assembled list of pigments sourced from around the city and each one corresponds to a person, place, or food that is essential to Philly. So in this episode we’re going to try to explain the inside jokes and references behind the Palette of Philadelphia.

…on creating modern day memorabilia. Johnny Zito and Tony Trov are the minds behind South Fellini, a Passyunk Avenue boutique of cheeky pins, hats, and tees that are inherently Philly. Two friends from South Philly, they first started collaborating while attending Temple University where they made tee shirts to fund for their short films and rock operas. They’re award-winning comic book artists, indie filmmakers and they’re joining the show on the eve of their new store opening in the Fashion District to talk about working within a budget, how working on comics informed their filmmaking, font crushes and that time Bryce Harper crashed their site.
