Center for Living In Christ
Are you content today? Paul said "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", he also said for us to be content in all things before we can take that strength on. This can drive us in so many different directions. We need to be aware of what we are multiplying in our lives today. Are we multiplying dread and worry or victory and mercy? Are we multiplying greed or a spirit of giving? It matters that we feel God's presence in our lives. Enjoy!
This is the first in a 5 week series in the book of Daniel and a journey through the courage that Daniel showed throughout the years of his life. This first week we learn how Daniel would STAND OUT amid the other kids of his age by choosing God in every circumstance. We pray that you are encouraged by the message and that you will find faith to STAND over the next couple of weeks.
There will be times in our faith walks that we will have to stand strong in our faith. We look to Daniel to see how when he was challenged he stood strong in the faith. Daniel does not embrace the things of the world he stands strong. Will you stand strong in the face of alcoholism or pornography or lying or cheating? The world is coming, learn to STAND STRONG today.
Week 3 of Practical Atheist is not usually a popular one. It has to do with money and people get uneasy about that conversation. However, God has called us to something different for those that are NOT Practical Atheist. We like money for sure and we need it to survive these days, but do you believe that it is ruling you or are you ruling it. Enjoy the challenge today and take a look inside yourself today.
We will wrap up this series in today's final message, I believe in God, but I don' t know Him. God is calling us into an intimate relationship with Him and He desires so much more than we know. The Bible tells us in 1 John that if you say you know Him but you don't obey His commands, you are a liar. Do we want to be liars? Someday we will all have to answer for the things we have done and not done. Will putting you full faith and hope in Christ be something you do or won't do? We hope you have enjoyed the series and we pray that God is pressing into you even more because of it. Enjoy!
This week Pastor Luke continues in the series, The Practical Atheist and we hear about the perils of being lukewarm for Christ. We often hear people say, "I believe in God, but I don't want to go overboard". This is exactly opposite of what God desires from His kids. He says He will spit you out of His mouth. Do you want to be spit out? We didn't think so. Enjoy this message today.
Pastor Luke starts a 4 week series on who or what we truly think we are as compared to what the bible tells us we should be. The practical atheist is someone who "believes" in God but lives as though he does not exist. We all find ourselves at times in places of struggle, but what you do to climb out is vitally important. This week do you fear God? Do you stand in awe of the wonderful God of the universe? If the answer is no you may want to listen closely. We hope you enjoy!
This week Pastor Luke invites us to run the race before us and run it well, all the while having laser focus on the person of Jesus Christ. There are so many distractions that are taking us away from the pursuit that we sometimes get distracted. We have a call as believers to perform well in the midst of witnesses so they can see the evidence of the one true, living God. Enjoy
This week Pastor Luke takes us to 1 John 5 to see how John looked at prayer and match that up against how we treat it today. We need to have as much assurance in the answer to our prayers as we do in our assurance of our salvation. If you are struggling with either of those there is a bigger question to answer. We hope you are challenged and edified.
Today Pastor Luke encourages us to listen to the call of God in our lives. We have become so good at hearing but we have fallen short of the message to listen to what He says. Listening is the act of giving attention to a word spoken. There are many reasons why we may not listen, maybe some of these apply to you today. Enjoy!
Join us this week as CLIC joins with Power of the Word Church in Oshkosh to worship and praise together. Pastor Luke shares a message of hope and faith in Christ that He is building His Church one person at a time. We look at Allelon or the "one another's" of the new testament. We have a call to unity, love and humility towards one another. Enjoy
This week Pastor Luke asks the question, "If we are new creations in Christ, why do we keep trying to put that new wine into the old wineskins?". In Matthew 9 Jesus himself tells the disciples do not put old wine into the new wineskins, lest they will burst. You will see in Matthew 9 that Jesus was referring to the old way of doing things and telling the disciples that things had to change. Are things changing in your life? Then stop using the old wineskins to hold it. Enjoy!
Are you a fan or a follower of Christ? Will you do whatever, whenever and however God asks you to do for Him regardless of who is watching? Will you step out and have faith that God is directing the entire thing? Many over the years have done this and been blessed beyond compare. Many have chosen not to and suffered the consequences. So Fan or follower?
We are constantly being bombarded by the contamination of the world. It can prove to grow us weary in our soul. We need a Soul Detox to ensure that we are living according to God's plan for our lives and that our soul can thrive in this world. We hope you can find freedom today and a cleansing for your soul. Enjoy!
In this message pastor Luke reveals why God hates church. We see how the nation of Israel thought they had it figured out because they were the chosen people. The reality was that they were anything but safe. God is creating a remnant of people in this world and not everyone is getting in. We pray that you are blessed by this. If you like what you hear please share with someone you love and care about.
We start this series today "Church on Mission" in hopes to show everyone where they fit in God's plan. Today we talk about the mission of God and then we look a little bit at the mission of Jesus in light of the mission of God. We are brand new today and because Jesus lives in us we are called to mission with God.
This week we are taking a look at Jesus' words in Luke 4 and seeing where our complete submission to God and our confession is one of the keys to discipleship. We have to be broken before God and then live like He is inside of us and not just near us. We can set the captives free and return sight to the blind, but first we must confess.
We wrap up the series today and look right at the place where God desires us to be. We see a people rallying around one another breaking bread in their homes, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. Mind you the favor that we experience comes from believers as well as unbelievers alike. Enjoy today's message.
Continuing today as we define:church. We look deeper at the call on God's people to be together, have everything in common and meet together. They did it this way before and God is not doing anything different today, but He is doing something new. Will you be a part of it? Enjoy!
We continue to take a closer look this week at the people of Jerusalem and we look deeper at Paul's instruction to them. We look at prayer, we look at how they were filled with awe and then we see them do the miraculous through signs and wonders. We are called to live this same life in Christ. Enjoy today.
Today we take a closer look at the scripture in Acts 2 and we see how this "uncluttered" people truly drew closer to one another and God. We pray that you are encouraged by this today and you will seek your group of folks to get around and seek out God together.
We start a deep look into the first people of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and joining together to spread the gospel. The acted differently, they lived differently and they grew. The show us the Jerusalem blueprint.
Today we finish the series, Story Formed Way. We have come full circle. Started with creation and we see God promise today to bring a new creation. We need to draw near to Him, because He is coming back and we don't want to miss the boat. Blessings today! Enjoy
Pastor Luke asks the same question that Jesus himself asked of His disciples, what is your excuse? Jesus had people approach Him and ask to be by His side but it was only under their terms. Check out today's message and see how that worked out for them and find out how it works today.
We continue in the series Story Formed Way and we hear from Pastor Luke today that we are on this mission together and that we have been given power to do so. We pray that you are encouraged by it.
In today's message from Pastor Luke we hear about how we need to shift our focus on the world to match up with God's focus for the world. We have been taught things for so long that do not match up with God's word and we need to be able to reach out to Him to provide us with the tools that we need to be on mission with God. Enjoy!
We celebrated our year anniversary and we shared about the temptation of Christ. We are all tempted and we all need a Savior. Just how did Jesus deal with this same temptation? Check it out and see what the story says.
We continue a series on our story as it relates to Jesus himself. We all have a story to tell and if we can share the gospel message through that story we can reach people for Jesus. Join us as we look at " The Person of Jesus".
We start to listen to the story of God today and make it our own. You can share your story with intentions of showing Jesus to people and wrap it up in the gospel today. The people of the world want to hear the story which story will you share?
Fresh off their Foursquare Connection 2013 Pastor Luke and Dianne share all about the direction that our national Church Office is headed and how YOU fit in the picture. It is a little lengthy but it is also worth it.
We celebrate Pentecost today and we enter into a life changing experience of the gospel message. The power of the Holy Spirit to reform our church, the body of believers. Be blessed today!
We are drawing near to the end of an awesome time with God by presenting a world view of the Holy Spirit and matching that up against the word of God. Paul himself built in safeguards so that the men and women of God could operate in the manifestations of the Spirit for the good of the Church. Ultimately these manifestations are essential to the growth of the body.
Today we are looking to the scripture to see that even Jesus could not do ministry without the Holy Spirit. We also see how Luke wrote about Jesus while he was with him in the book of Luke and then went back in the book of Acts to confirm Jesus in the Spirit. Let's journey on this together and listen to God's call.
We continue our series into the Holy Spirit by showing where the Holy Spirit can do wonderful things in some very simple areas. We need to get some comfort levels among friends and small groups to allow the Spirit to move. We hope you enjoy.
We continue the Journey to Pentecost as we hear from Pastor Luke why the manifestations of the Holy Spirit are vital and real and why they exists today and should be exercised.
We are celebrating the showers of the Holy Spirit in this series. Today we get a little bit closer to understand who the Holy Spirit is and how His presence was the beginning of the Church as we know it, but the world has seem to forgot.
Is Jesus worthy of your sacrifice? This year we looked at what man says vs what the Bible says when it comes to sacrificing all for Jesus. We pray that you are blessed by this message during this resurrection season.
This week we celebrate Palm Sunday and not just because we get some palms at church and take a humbled position about Christ. We do so and we celebrate Victory in Jesus, we celebrate that our Lion is a Lamb and His life and death is the Victory for us. Enjoy this week and we pray that you are blessed.
Today we are taking a look at Jesus as our lamb, the one who was slain to cover all of our sins and give us salvation. Now that is an easy picture for us to grasp but when you wrap that around the context of Revelation 5 it can tend to get a little confusing. That is why Pastor Luke has decided to break it down for you to reveal just how rich this text can be and really what a blessing it can be to us. Seven eyes? Seven horns? What is all that talk about? Tune in today and see.
This is the first installment in the series "The Lion and the Lamb". We look at the apostle John weeping as he looks to find someone worthy to open the deed to earth. The reality is revealed to him that Jesus is the Lion and the Lamb that is worthy to reveal this wonder. We are called as well to be lions and lambs. When do we operate as those? We walk in faith we claim Jesus and we allow Him to work in us. Be blessed today.
Today Dianne wraps up the month of LOVE at CLIC by getting to the heart of the matter which is teaching us what it means to have a heart for Jesus and a heart for others. We pray that you are blessed by it today. www.hisclic.org
