Perfecting Faith Church with Pastor Donnie McClurkin

Are you living like the conqueror God says you are, or still fighting battles He's already won? In this sermon, Pastor James Wilson reminds us that through Jesus Christ, we are more than conquerors. Drawing from Romans 8:37-39 and Colossians 2:13-15, Pastor Wilson explains that believers have already overcome the world, the enemy, and the flesh because of Christ's ultimate victory. He encourages us to stay in “victory formation,” to focus not on past failures but on the triumph we already have in Jesus. Pastor Wilson also emphasizes the power of faith, the complete forgiveness of sins, and the importance of staying prayerful and grounded so we do not fall into the enemy's traps. True victory is not about striving to win but standing firm in the victory Jesus has already secured for you. Sermon Scriptures: Romans 8:37-39; 1 John 5:4; Colossians 2:13-15; John 16:33; Hebrews 2:14-15; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:33-35   We stream live every Sunday at 11 am and every Wednesday at 8 pm. When we gather together, we do so to honor God, to seek His kingdom first, and to trust that He is present with us—Emmanuel, God with us. Life is full of unexpected events, and how we respond to them reveals the true state of our hearts. Easy days rarely show our character; it's the curveballs, the tragedies, and the moments of loss that expose what's really inside us. Whether it's a personal crisis, a national tragedy, or simply the daily grind, these moments test us and shape us for eternity. Reflecting on the story of David in 1 Samuel 30, we see a powerful example of how to respond when everything falls apart. David and his men returned to find their city burned and their families taken. The initial responses were deeply human: some wept until they had no strength left, others looked for someone to blame. These are natural reactions, but they don't bring healing or restoration. Pain is unavoidable, but misery is optional; it's all about how we steward our pain. David, however, chose a different path. Instead of looking inward in despair or outward in blame, he looked upward—he strengthened himself in the Lord. This was a hinge moment in his life, a turning point that prepared him to become king. He prayed, sought godly counsel, praised God, remembered God's past faithfulness, and sometimes simply waited in trust. These practices are not just ancient history; they are the blueprint for how we can respond to our own trials. We are called to cast our cares on Jesus, to surround ourselves with people who point us back to Him, to praise even when it's hard, to remember God's faithfulness, and to wait on Him when we have no words left. Communion reminds us that evil does not win—what looked like the darkest day in history became Good Friday because God turned evil to good. We live in hope, knowing that one day all evil will be destroyed and we will dwell with God forever. Until then, we don't waste our days in fear or bitterness, but we find our strength, rest, and victory in Jesus.

Dwight Thompson delivers a bold and passionate call for believers to take spiritual authority over the enemy's attacks on their homes. He reminds us that the devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but through Christ, we have power to stand and say “enough.” Thompson emphasizes prayer as the weapon that builds a hedge of protection, declaring God's promises over spouses, children, and loved ones. He urges families to resist fear, claim victory in Jesus' name, and refuse to give the enemy any foothold. The message is both a battle cry and a reassurance: God's Word guarantees that when we stand firm in faith, the devil must flee.

Ephesians 4:27 tells us, “Don't give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!” In this message, Pastor Troy Smothermon reminds us that the enemy is always looking for a way in, but we don't have to give him any room. Compromise with sin always costs more than we want to pay, but obedience to God brings true freedom. Each step of obedience moves us closer to victory, and that victory is already certain in Jesus. When we fill our minds and hearts with God's Word, we shut the door to the enemy's lies. Don't let the devil build rooms in your life, let God take up every space. Jesus didn't save us to leave us the same; He saved us to transform us, give us purpose, and help us lead others to Him.If you've been struggling with compromise, temptation, or old patterns of sin, this word will encourage you to resist the enemy and stand in the freedom Jesus has already given you.

In this message from our Apostles' Creed series, Bishop of Wollongong Peter Hayward explores what it means to confess: “He ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.”At a special confirmation service, Bishop Peter reminds us that turning to Christ is not simply acknowledging a historical figure, but trusting in the risen Lord who intercedes for us right now. His ascension is cosmic in significance — Jesus has finished his saving work, yet he remains actively involved in our lives.Even in the face of personal struggles, global uncertainty, and the unknown of Christ's return, we can live with purpose and joy because the final word is victory in Jesus.

THE FIRST PERSECUTION OF THE CHURCH (Acts 4:1-22) As believers we are to obey those that God has placed in power over us, whether they be Caesar, or Nero, or our current leaders.  Yet, there are times when Caesar so abuses his power as to command that we do something morally or spiritually wrong.  That is where the believer must draw the line, even at the cost of death.  The believer must respectfully, but firmly, refuse to obey the commands of human authority when it defies the laws of God.  And when the time comes, and it will come, that we are prohibited from preaching and teaching the name of Jesus, that is when we must refuse to obey the command of the rulers placed in authority above us.   Peter does just that as he proclaims to the Sanhedrin, “Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”  This was Peter's and John's reply when they were commanded by the religious leaders to stop teaching in the name of Jesus.  They declared that they would continue to teach, preach, and heal in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, no matter the cost.   It is not by the name of Confucius, Buddha, or Allah, that a lost person can find salvation; not even by the name of one of the great heroes of the Bible, not Abraham, or Moses, can a lost person find salvation.  Only in the name of Jesus can salvation be found.  Jesus is the world's only Savior.  John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJV The law can't save you. Religion can't save you, and there is absolutely no ceremony that can save you. You cannot get to Heaven through the pope. You cannot stand before God clothed in the robes of righteousness by doing more good works than bad works.  Your friends and family cannot pray you into heaven.  You cannot buy your way out of darkness and an eternity in Hell. There is only one way to get rid of Satan's darkness, and that is the light of the Word of God, Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.  We have victory in Jesus because no force on the earth, or below the earth, can stand against the mighty majesty of His name.  When you come to Jesus for salvation, it is His blood that wipes away your sin.  It is His blood that provides eternal life for you.   Click on the play button to hear a message about the first persecution of the church that would dare to teach about the gospel message found in the name of Jesus. This is a live recording of The Master's Class Bible Study at LifeChange Church Wichita, KS. Amen.

What if your darkest valley is actually the birthplace of your greatest victory? In Part 5 of our powerful journey through Psalm 23, Pastor Travis Hearn delivers a soul-stirring message that takes us deep into one of the most battlefield-ready verses in the Bible: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me…” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV). Drawing from personal stories and biblical depth, Pastor Travis brings to life the raw reality of valley seasons—places of heartbreak, loss, fear, and uncertainty—and reveals how God's presence, provision, preparation, and protection are most alive in those very moments. You'll walk through the ancient terrain of Wadi Qelt, the literal Valley of the Shadow of Death, and discover that valleys aren't destinations—they're passageways. This isn't just a sermon. It's a declaration for every weary soul: You're not stuck. You're not alone. You're being shaped for victory. From David slaying giants in the Valley of Elah, to dry bones rising in Ezekiel's vision, to Jesus calling Himself the Light that shatters shadows—this message will help you see that your valley is not the end. It's the beginning of your breakthrough. Stop cursing your valley. Start claiming your destiny. You are just passing through... and victory is waiting on the other side.

He died for our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day as prophesied in the Scriptures and witnessed by many. Some doubt His resurrection. If Christ has not risen, faith is futile, and humanity remains burdened by sin. However, Christ has been raised, guaranteeing a resurrection to eternal life for all who trust in Him. What will that look like? Paul compares the resurrection to a seed that transforms into a new body, emphasizing that the perishable will be replaced by the imperishable. Christ's return culminates in eternal victory over sin and death. Disciples have victory in Jesus now and forever. Believing this, they must remain steadfast and immovable, never losing heart in serving the risen Lord. The gospel is inspirational and resides in the heart of every believer. We believe that Jesus died, was raised on the third day, and appeared to hundreds of witnesses. We believe the tomb is empty and that our Savior has forever defeated death. If these things are not true, then all who live as Christians are truly a pitiful lot. However, the evidence is overwhelming both in history and in scripture. He has been raised, and that means we too will be raised after death, or changed at His return. Our physical bodies will perish, but new spiritual bodies will emerge and live forever. In times of trial in the flesh, our hope for life rests in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we remain steadfast in our allegiance to Him. Glorious Lord, thank You for the victory over sin and death through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thank You for the testimony that affirms His victory, filling us with hope for our future in Him. Help us to stand firm in faith, holding tightly to the hope of eternal life. We will labor for You, knowing that our efforts are not in vain. Teach us to grow in boldness, sharing the gospel and reflecting the understanding of Christ's victory. Thank You for the assurance that our King has defeated death and that our allegiance to Him will reap eternal reward.  Thought Questions: -       Why do you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Are you prepared to present your case for Christ and His victory to friends and family? -       What will happen the moment that Christ returns? How does that information put perspective into your day and priorities in life? -       What does it mean to be “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord”? How are you demonstrating those qualities?

This is a call to higher ground in Jesus, where even the carnal nature is removed even though Finney may articulate it somewhat differently. It's a call for victory in the name of Jesus by His blood.

Joining us today on the podcast is a man the country fell in love with during the Ohio State football team’s National Championship run, TreVeyon Henderson. Time after time, when the pressure was on, TreVeyon along with his OSU teammates stepped up and performed on the field, but more importantly spoke up and shed a light on thier unwavering faith in their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Further, he was even more recently drafted as the 38th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft to the New England Patirots where he looks forward to what god has in store for this next season of life. However, life hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows for TreVeyon. Like all of us, he is no stranger to suffering being raised in Hopewell, VA and battling depression, anxiety, sleep paralysis, and suicidal ideation. But by the grace of God, when he met Jesus, everything changed! Throughout today’s conversation you’ll be encouraged by TreVeyon’s testimony as well as his heart and passion for the Lord and some of the lessons he’s learned along the way. Above all else, TreVeyon wants one message to ring loud and clear - true VICTORY can only be found in JESUS! When we first come to Christ, we are saved by His grace, through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). Our salvation is not of ourselves, it is the work and gift of God on our behalf. Yet, strangely, for many Christians, once we are saved through faith, we attempt to live the Christian life in our own strength, ability, wisdom, and resource—we try to be godly, holy, righteous, and pure. But the reality of the Christian life is that we are to ALWAYS live by faith in Christ. The only way we will ever experience freedom, victory, and triumph over sin is when we live by faith in Jesus alone. In this study, Nathan talks about what faith is, how it functions, why it is necessary, and how it applies to Ephesians 5:3–5 in the area of sexuality, purity, and freedom from sin.

Lust is a man's problem, right? Wrong. When we see lust as an exclusively male issue, it leaves Christian women with nowhere to turn when they struggle with the same things. They suffer silently and feel like they will never be free. Jessica Harris has been there, and she has made it her mission to break the silence, banish the shame, and bring women's struggles into the light of God's grace and forgiveness. She understands that when you suffer in silence, you are building a wall of shame between yourself and God that God does not desire for you. Join us as she shows women a road map for restoration that answers the question "Is there grace left for me?" with a resounding and emphatic "Yes!"Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
