Sermons from Colin Glen Christian Fellowship, in West Belfast.

Instead of rejoicing in the Lord, we often feel pride or shame. Let's draw close to Jesus and not let these things get in the way. Let's take our pride and our shame and leave these burdens at the foot of the cross, rejoicing instead in the Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:19-30. We can see and serve Christ in the ordinary matters of fellowship with one another. Let us honour Christ, as we see him at work in others. Let us honour him above all. Philippians 2:19-30 Watch here on Youtube: https://youtube.com/live/YX3rIdrAm6w and https://youtube.com/live/Lxzp2dZl_9E

Robert (Bob) Hamilton encourages us to live godly lives, shining as stars in a spiritually dark world. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/zRvSCB0T9zI

Strength and being able to stand together in the Christian life relies on unity in the Spirit, which is found by not just believing the right doctrines, but by living the Christian character, by living like Christ, by having Christ's presence among us, to the glory of God. Paul shows us how suffering can result in good, especially if it is for the cause of Christ. With a Christ-centred mindset we can face suffering, even persecution, with a different mindset. All to the glory of God, and out of love for Christ. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/1YIlDSXtnvU Watch Here on Youtube: https://youtube.com/live/1YIlDSXtnvU

Be filled with the Spirit, not just content with a little sanctification, nor standing still and losing what we have. Look to Christ, and work out our salvation, praying for others to do so too.

Living for the glory of God as living letters, through Christ in us. (There is no YouTube video for this sermon, due to technical reasons - the building could not be opened due to the cold weather.)

Aidan McCormick from North Belfast Christian Fellowship encourages us today from Psalm 92. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/J7k-vrQz2so

The wise men listened to God's guidance, found Jesus, and worshipped him. Herod, guided by sin, opposed Jesus and sought to kill him. Let us not oppose Christ Jesus, but place our faith in him and follow him. Watch on yoytube: https://youtube.com/live/8AWiPFryMR4

God sent his Son into our world, so that we could enter his. Immanuel, God with us. Let us know God with us through repentance, and faith in Christ Jesus. And let us look forward to that great wedding feast of the Lamb to come, when we will truly be with God forever. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/2JECoLWB4UI

Christ Jesus is God, who lives outside of time. Yet he stepped into time, took on human flesh, yet did not sin. He lived an obedient life, suffered on the cross for those who were disobedient, and rose from the dead that we might have life. Let us come to him, through repentance and faith, and know him, and have assurance of eternal life in him. Watch Here on Youtube: https://youtube.com/live/edpJkLOqyoY

Jesus said that we are either with him or against him. When our world collides with his, or when we collide with him, we will not prevail. We ought to turn to him now, while we can, so that we will be exalted with him in due time. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/AGkKJ7ocmSI

The old nature is weak, even though the Spirit is willing. We find ourselves failing and sinning when we depend on our old nature. But we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. Jesus persevered through anguish in Gethsemane. We too can persevere if we rely on him, his Spirit in us. If we pray in advance, we will be prepared for situations later on. Jesus gave his life for us. His sacrifice was prefigured by the many sacrifices for sin in the old covenant, and before. Most significantly, the lamb sacrificed at the Passover represented Christ's giving of himself as the Lamb of God who takes away sins. While those sacrifices pointed forward to the cross, the Lord's Table looks back to the cross. In the Last Supper, Jesus disestablishes the old covenant and establishes the new. Let us look to him for forgiveness of sins, and never wander far from the cross. Watch here on Youtube: https://youtube.com/live/EZyHXXd21Hs

Jesus gave his life for us. Mary walked closely with him, and knew what he was going to do. She also knew what she was called to do. Even if others didn't understand her, she was humble obedient to the leading of the Spirit. Let us walk closely with Jesus too, that we may hear and obey when he calls us to act for him. Most of all, let us remember what he did for us in giving his life on the cross, so that we could be forgiven and accepted by the Father. Watch Here : https://youtube.com/live/pFmsJB2-wGM

What are we focused on regarding Jesus second coming? Instead of being obsessed with signs of the end times, we ought instead to long for Jesus. If we long for him coming, we will long for his presence now. So, let's keep watch, being on guard against all that would distract us, and let us draw closer to him. Self-centredness even affects religion, making people pious but selfish, instead of God-centred and loving others. But God sees the heart, and praises those who serve him wholeheartedly, no matter how little they are able to do. Watch Here: https://youtube.com/live/io3sa0n1MVA

Christ Jesus is not simply God, nor simply man, but the God-man. Only by being fully God and fully man can he be our Saviour. Watch Here : https://youtube.com/live/Sv3lW7N5tFo

To love God as we ought to, and to love our neighbor as ourselves, we need God's love in Crist Jesus first. To be the people we ought to be, we to first place our faith in Christ Jesus. Watch here : https://youtube.com/live/WvCTgxGEzKo

Anyone who says that there is no life after death is wrong, according to Jesus. We can look forward to being with him in the next life, if we have trusted in him in this life. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/D_uqkJGErLI

Cillian McNamara encourages us to rejoice in suffering, for the glory of God. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/32ncHledrwg

Jesus showed and taught that we ought not to confuse political power with church influence, because the gospel and the church become compromised in the process. But we instead look forward to when there will be perfect government and perfect worship when Jesus comes again, under his rule. Let us give to government what it is due, but more importantly give to God all that he is due.

We have all failed to live as obedient servants of God. We all deserve punishment as a result. But in his love and grace he calls us to return to a faithful relationship with him, through Jesus' death on the cross. Christ came knowing he would be rejected, but his rejection was for our salvation.

We dare not question God, putting him on trial, standing in judgment over him. Instead, we ought to humble ourselves and repent, relying on his mercy and grace, trusting that he knows far better than us, that our thinking is warped by sin, but that he is working all things together for good, as we trust place our faith in Jesus, and follow him. The visual parable of the withering of the fig tree, and the overturning of the tables, remind us that God will judge all who do not produce the fruit of the Spirit. But if we turn to him and just ask, he will give us freely, for whatever situation we are in need. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/h4on8doEOds

Christ is victorious over sin and death. He will have victory over all his enemies, and bring in a new world of peace and blessing. To share that with him, there and then, we must humble ourselves and repent, not seek power and position here and now. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/QaZ7qOBDrXo

Our greatest need is healing from spiritual blindness. Christ calls us to come, each one of us, to trust in him by faith and follow him. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/KEp9yF8l5OI

Jesus is not only our Saviour as the suffering servant, but also as our role-model. Watch on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/mrPYohBV5fE

In order to take hold of the gift of eternal life, we need to let go of our own efforts to take hold of it and trust in Christ Jesus alone. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/1co31foPvsI

God loves little children, as well as any who are made in his image. But also, we need to receive the kingdom of God as little children, if we are to receive it at all, as a gift for which we have nothing to give in return. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/9LBk4ABaQhQ

The topic of divorce is important, but often fraught with misunderstanding. We hope to provide a straightforward understanding from the whole of Scripture today. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/ZLI4RoSbLI4

Sin is serious. It has eternal consequences. Jesus cares for us, and loves us. He gave his life for us, and he warns us. Let's turn to him and stay close to him, and have the joy of the Lord instead of the guilty pleasures of sin and worldliness. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/IAz_mvqowHE

How ought we to think about Israel and the Church? And how does that relate to the nation state of Israel today? Watch: https://youtube.com/live/75mSPlIDLi8

Val English encourages us through Psalm 16. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/NSGIYplzFG4

In the light of recent tensions and riots, we review what God requires of us. We are to "do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). Watch: https://youtube.com/live/f8E74NWcYDM

While the way of the world is to jostle for prominence, influence and fame, Christians ought instead to be like Jesus, being servant-hearted and humble. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/F4xm3Jho98k

A fellowship of believers invited in Christ and through the work of the Holy Spirit will be reorientated to live in devotion to Gods word, fellowship together, corporate worship and evanelism.

I believe, help my unbelief. We live by faith, and need to fuel our faith by prayer. By depending on Christ each moment, we live by faith. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/bKjfFomPNWM

Christ did not let his suffering define him. His glory was veiled, which was seen in the transfiguration, reflected his true identity. So too, we should live in the light of our glory to be revealed at our glorification, not letting our present difficulties define us. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/h6_nYYl2Kuk

When we rely on the wisdom of our sinful nature, we do not think or do the things of God. But when we set our minds on the Spirit, we then walk in the Spirit. Let not fallen thinking make us ashamed of the gospel, but let us stay close to the cross. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/eJYGoS1auvs

Faith in Christ opens our eyes. We gain more insight as we keep looking to Christ. We look forward to when we will see everything clearly when he returns. He alone can change our lives. To him be the glory. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/q8zIglzoT5Y

Lack of faith can lead us astray. Walk closely with the Lord, trusting when we don't understand. God is good, trust him. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/kZQGV4xj5ec

Because Christ has risen, and because there is resurrection from the dead, we have many reasons to persevere, knowing that all we do in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15 Watch: https://youtube.com/live/XtcD4mQdZ-4

Christ has the pre-eminence in all things. But more than that, they were all made for him, for his glory, even if they are also for our good. Let us praise and give glory to him, above all. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/hsBchYhEr6M

Many people had different reactions to Jesus. Some hailed him as Messiah, but later called for him to be crucified. But others wanted to see Jesus, and place their faith in him. But all who give up everything to follow him gain eternal life. Watch on youtube: https://youtube.com/live/AOg2z2UhkX0

Commissioning of Rachel Millican as Community Worker for Colin Glen Christian Fellowship No matter what situation we face, when we seek the Lord in humility and faith, we receive his help. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Watch: https://youtube.com/live/Y6ROpF5SAME

Christ came into the world so that all could be saved. The gospel came through the nation of Israel, the Jews, but it was for all nations. Jesus shows that God's plan was always to reach all nations. The gospel has reached us - have we believed and placed our trust in Christ? Watch: https://youtube.com/live/1Q_nPs3IsHU

God called St. Patrick, while still a slave in Ireland, to trust in him and follow him, and have joy and peace in his heart. Patrick found that peace and joy. And years later, having escaped and been trained for ministry, Patrick heard God's call to return to Ireland, to take the gospel for others to hear and respond to that call too. And he is still calling people to turn to him, to trust in Jesus, and to know forgiveness, joy, hope and life, in his love and mercy to us. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uGvL8Oxmfg

David Moore encourages us to belong to God's community of church. Community and church were very important for the Celtic Church. It is where we belong as Christ's people, where we grow in community together in Christ, where we serve others too, and where we can impact the world with the gospel.
