If someone comes to us with an offer, saying, "I will take care of all your affairs"—for instance, I have an app, and this app will take care of all your other apps, and that includes accounting and all your emails—something like Notion, where you just put it all in one place and then you don't have to worry about it, only much better. Yes, this person will take care of your financial situation. If you're lacking somewhere, that person will make up for it and pay all your debts. You might then ask, "Well, how much is it going to cost per month or per year to pay for this app you're offering me?" You might also think there's a learning curve to figure out how to work this app that's going to solve all my problems. You might also think, "Maybe you're taking my information and selling it to somebody else," or you may think, "What happens when the app becomes obsolete and then all my information is out there?" You may have many doubts, but if one suspends one's disbelief at the very beginning of reading the Bhagavad-gītā, to accept that there is a Supreme Person who controls everything, who is within everyone's heart, and who is our well-wisher. In that suspended disbelief—the idea that there could be such a person—we accept that He is offering us an opportunity that if we give Him all our information and "take the app," He'll take care of everything. And then, at the end: mā śucaḥ—"Don't worry, I'll deal with it." Such an offer we might consider. If we consider that, taking advantage of such an offer is all that's necessary for a successful life. Because there is a Supreme Personality of Godhead. He's within our hearts. We established that last week (if you were here for the class) beyond a shadow of a doubt. If we had a jury, we would have gotten a verdict of "Yes, there is a Supreme Personality of Godhead within everyone's heart." If we understand the definition of the Supreme Personality of Godhead—that He's benevolent and He's all-powerful—and then we take heed of the offer that He gives, "Just surrender unto Me," then what could be the problem? There would be no problem. That's why Kṛṣṇa says, "mā śucaḥ." To encourage us, and anyone who is practicing on the path trying to connect to Kṛṣṇa, in verse BG 6.40, Kṛṣṇa very sweetly says to Arjuna: 'durgatiṁ tāta gacchati'. I say "sweetly" because the word tāta means "Oh, my dear one," or "Oh, my son." He is saying it in a very tender way with an open heart: "Don't worry. If you're trying, if you're sincere, and you try on this path, then you'll never be overcome by evil." Pārtha naiveha nāmutra—in this world or in the next world, vināśas tasya vidyate—you'll never be vanquished. Na hi kalyāṇa-kṛt kaścit—because if you're the kalyāṇa-kṛt, if you're doing the right thing—which only means you're sincerely trying to surrender to Kṛṣṇa, even if you're not completely successful, durgatiṁ tāta gacchati—you'll never have an inauspicious destination, anywhere: this world, next world. The conclusion is that if we're sincere, it's infallible. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/

Euer Ingmar

In Discipleship Weekly we discuss the week's sermon text, sharing insights, questions, and how it might apply to us. This week Ryan Cagno talked with Marcus Rodrigues about Mark 16:1-8. Which ending of Mark should we read? What's the significance of Passover? How would WE have responded to news of Jesus' resurrection? Disbelief? Fear? Would we even have been around, or in hiding?
IntroductionChristians often take the resurrection of Christ for granted. We do not do this because we necessarily doubt Christ, but because we have heard the story so many times that we fall into a trap where we think we already know this stuff. So, we are tempted to tune out. The problem is we can have such a superficial understanding that we miss the scope and necessity of Christ's resurrection. Why Suffer These Things? The resurrection serves as God's vindication of Christ's innocence. The reality is if Christ stays in the grave then he really did fail. It would mean that he really did transgress the Lord's holiness. Luke furnishes for us proof that Christ is innocent. There are three witnesses: Pilate, Herod, and the Centurion. Despite these multiple witnesses declaring Christ innocent earthly courts condemned him to death. The resurrection represents the heavenly courts overturning this verdict. This is what the prophets have predicted. Christ himself stated that he will suffer these things. The problem is not with God's revelation, but his disciples' ability to comphrehend. Why Enter into Glory? When Christ appeared to his disciples on the road to Emmaus, they were "slow of heart" to believe what the prophets had spoken. They couldn't reconcile their expectations of a triumphant Messiah with the reality of a suffering Savior who died. Christ wasn't attacking their intelligence but their spiritual obtuseness. Christ is not calling them stupid, but saying they lack dicernment. Their expectaiton is that the messiah comes, and brings glory. They forgot the whole part about suffering. Christ is making clear that in order for Easter to be Easter there has to be Good Friday: The Messiah's death on the cross. Why the Disbelief? Despite their doubt and misunderstanding, Christ didn't abandon these disciples. One would expect that Christ would just be fed up. No, he listened to their ignorant claims about Christ's mission. Christ does not cast them away, but instead, he dined with them. Remember the banquet themes in Luke's gospel? Table fellowship communicates a social partnership. This meal symbolized Christ's continued communion with those who struggle to understand redemption. Christ's dining is showing that even when we fail to grasp the full significance of his work, he still welcomes us into fellowship.ConclusionThe resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of Christianity. We can think that Easter is a nice story of victory. We can think that Easter is a great day that guarantees our resurrection. These things are true. What we need to realize is without Easter, our faith is futile and we remain dead in our sins. The beauty of the resurrection is it grounds in history a precedent. The Lord does not just assert, but he brings to pass what he sword to do. The resurrection validates the Lord's word. Rather than casting us aside when we fail to understand, he invites us into fellowship, patiently instructing us, and assuring us that we really are united to him. Our hope is found not in our perfect understanding, but in the resurrected Christ who walks through hell in our place and emerges triumphant, guaranteeing our own resurrection and eternal life.

Alone, without God, darkness prevails. The natural state of the universe is darkness. That is true for all of us individually and spiritually as it is universally and physically. Sin leads to darkness. When light dims, darkness emerges and in the dark, we are lost and stumble. As said in Proverbs, when we “… leave the paths of uprightness (we) walk in the ways of darkness.” Ignorance and unbelief are also shrouded in darkness. Unbelief and disbelief are often used interchangeably, but they are different. Unbelief is the absence of belief, usually because of ignorance. Disbelief, however, is much darker; it is the unwillingness to believe or the rejection of truth. Unbelief is a vacuum; disbelief is rejection and, of the two, disbelief is far more devastating. Darkness and death never fall so hard and cold as for those who deny truth once revealed by the Holy Ghost. The degree of darkness is probably commensurate with the degree of light denied, but the darkness of disbelief is deeper than the darkness of unbelief or sin. It is one thing to fall short of the truth, but it is far worse to deny it. In Week 2 of our series, Everyday Disciple, Lead Pastor Jason Britt tackles a struggle everyone faces but few Christians want to admit: Doubt. We often label Thomas as "Doubting Thomas," letting one moment of uncertainty define his entire legacy. But the humanity of a disciple shows us that doubt isn't a deal-breaker—it can actually be the doorway to a deeper, more resilient faith. Whether your doubt is born from intellectual questions or, like Thomas, from "disappointed hope" and situational crisis, Jesus isn't intimidated by your uncertainty. He didn't shame Thomas for wanting proof; He provided His scars. Discover why a faith that has never been tested is a faith that can't be trusted, and how bringing your questions to Jesus moves your convictions from the "leaves" of public opinion to the "roots" of core belief.

In a world of misinformation and deep fakes, an entrepreneur who is selling based on trust is a beacon of light. Dan Sullivan and Gord Vickman let entrepreneurs in on a timeless system for becoming a source of truth. Show Notes: In every interaction, part of the human brain is quietly assessing whether someone can be trusted. At its core, marketing is about presenting something that feels credible and valuable enough for people to quickly say yes. The more self-awareness you have, the easier it becomes to understand others and relate to them. Trust matters because it creates predictability. When we trust, we can better anticipate outcomes and decisions. Our sense of knowledge is built from countless small facts that gradually come together into a larger understanding. With the rise of deepfakes, we can no longer rely on our senses the way we once did—seeing is no longer believing. A simple rule that always holds: create value before you ask for anything in return. Education doesn't stop at school. Life continuously adds new layers to who you are as a unique individual. The most important story you tell is the one about yourself. It's through how you act, react, and show up in different situations. Resources: Primal Intelligence by Angus Fletcher
Hello to you listening in Falkenstein, Germany!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Like a story in the making we are balanced between what was and what will be. All we need is the middle: what happened. A whole story can be daunting to write; but a sentence is manageable to give you a structure that gets you started. This 3-part template is designed to celebrate the challenges you have overcome, the doubts you have erased, and the fears you have undone to change what was to what is.Three phrases and you fill in the blanks, like so: If you had told me 20 years ago that I would [fill in the blank]I might have [fill in the blank]but instead if you could see me now I'm [fill in the blank].Here's mine: "If you had told me 20 years ago that I would walk 500 miles across Spain estoy solo on a 5-week pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago carrying all I needed in a red backpack weighing 15 pounds I might have snorted my coffee and shaken my head in disbelief at such a ridiculous notion but instead if you could see me now having made that journey when I uncovered what I love and discovered who I am ... now ready for next ... come what may!" Story Prompt: Now you. Write that story and share it out loud! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Luke 2:8-14Living BibleThat night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. They were badly frightened, but the angel reassured them.“Don't be afraid!” he said. “I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone! The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born tonight in Bethlehem! How will you recognize him? You will find a baby wrapped in a blanket,[b] lying in a manger!”Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others-the armies of heaven—praising God:“Glory to God in the highest heaven,” they sang,[c] “and peace on earth for all those pleasing him.”Imagine for a moment that you're a shepherd back in the B.C. days. It's just another cold, lonely, pitch-dark night, sitting by the fire, watching the sheep. Then, suddenly, a blinding light pierces through the blackness, and you're face to face with an angel. He sees the terror in your eyes, knows you think that he has come to kill you because of your sin and low position, so then he declares, “Don't be scared. I have good news of great joy for all people.” Disbelief overwhelms reality as you think, “Why me? And why here? … Aren't there some important people somewhere to do this? After all, we're just shepherds.”Shepherds, as a stereotype, had a reputation for being low-lives, men of bad reputation. They didn't observe the ceremonial law and were not religious men. They were so known for stealing and dishonesty that their testimony would not be considered reliable enough to testify in court. Think about that… God chose first to announce He was here to these men of bad reputation. He made His birth announcement to the least of these, setting a pattern for His Son's ministry. On that night, that holy night, everything changed and the broken, rejected, lowest of society were the ones that God chose to tell first. The words of the beautiful song, Oh Holy Night, capture the essence of that encounter. As we finish our time together - let me read you the words for this beautiful song. O holy night, the stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth; Long lay the world in sin and error pining, 'Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn; Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices! O night divine! O night when Christ was born.Father, we thank you for this time of joyful waiting. May the hope and joy of this season fill our hearts and make us living signs of your love for a world that hungers for your peace. Immanuel, God with us. Amen
Jon Herold and Zak Paine continue their deep examination of MKUltra, recovered memories, and the systems built to discredit survivors of extreme abuse. This episode centers on the creation and purpose of the False Memory Syndrome Foundation, breaking down how psychology, academia, and media were used to cast doubt on childhood trauma testimony. Jon and Zak walk through documented cases, survivor accounts, and historical context to explain trauma bonding, memory suppression, and the role of institutions in protecting perpetrators. They connect these patterns to modern information warfare, showing how authority and consensus are used to shape belief and dismiss uncomfortable truths. Episode 163 provides critical context for understanding how reality can be engineered, and why certain stories are labeled “baseless” before they're ever examined.

According to Joshua chapter 7, quite a lot. This passage reminds us that looking for security in anything or anyone other than God will always let us down.
