There are characteristic barriers that prevent leaders from finishing well. How many of these do you see in your own life?1. Lack of intimacy with God2. Emotional insecurity – not finding one's sense of security, self-worth, and significance (identity) in Christ; resulting in emotional insecurity, people-pleasing, craving approval and recognition, “performance” orientation, and/or vulnerability to compromise3. Life mismanagement – lack of clear focus, not being led and empowered by the Spirit, poor time management, overworking, etc.; results in high-stress loads, strained relationships, and possible burnout4. Pride – the opposite of humility; thinking too highly (or lowly) of self; often manifests in an unwillingness to learn from others or to receive correction
