Borne out of a need to fill the void of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s postponed 2020 marathon shows, this is a podcast of the fans, by the fans, and for the fans. Hosted by comedian/musician/superfan Jon Hanford, each episode features a call-in guest to talk all things Gizz! We’re a communal bunch and make each other better.
After seeing King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard play live in San Diego, Pomona, and two nights in Las Vegas, I've got withdrawals. Plus, their 20th studio album "Omnium Gatherum" just came out and I've been left on read by most people I've texted about it. Anyway, here's an hour plus of me talking about my renewed love for our favorite band, making new friends, and meeting Cookie.
The pod returns with a solo episode in which I give my take on Butterfly 3000. I also speak candidly on the future of this podcast as well as what I've been working on in my life, creatively and spiritually. Thanks for listening and subscribing!
John from Pittsburgh returns to the pod to talk Gizz, Murlocs, LW vinyl & more! Thanks for listening :)
Johnny joins the pod to talk Gizz and other tangental subjects. It's a long ep, but a good one!
Scott joins the pod from Fairbanks, Alaska. He's got a cool King Gizz origin story and we discuss the band's livestreamed Melbourne show, Red Rocks, and a bunch of other Gizzy topics. Other than that I mention it in the intro, this is a totally unprompted plug, but I just picked up a copy (Dragon Fury LP) of Live in Melbourne '21 here: https://needlejuicerecords.com/product/liveinmelbourne21/
Jakub is back on the pod from the Czech Republic to promote the Qrates campaign for his bootleg LP "Muddy Straws." It's a nine-song compilation of somewhat under-appreciated tracks off a few of the 2019 live albums, Polygondwanaland, and Demos. Thanks for listening and subscribing!
Angie joins the pod from Melbourne, Australia where she was lucky enough to catch BOTH of King Gizzard's 2021 Micro Tour warmup shows at the Croxton Park Hotel. She's also the most OG Gizzhead to appear on the podcast and discusses a special connection she has with Willoughby's Beach. Thanks for listening and subscribing!
Dan joins the pod from Chicago! We discuss O.N.E., Oddments, DND campaigns, and a bunch of other fun life stuff. Thanks for listening and subscribing!
Cody and Amber join the podcast as the first engaged couple to appear and talk about how King Gizzard brought them together. Just in time for Valentine's Day! Thanks for listening and subscribing!
Bryan joins the pod from Arizona. He's a somewhat recent Gizzhead and brings an interesting perspective coming from a prog background. Thanks for listening and subscribing!

Bryce joins the podcast as a longtime viewer, but also to promote his King Gizzard bootleg album, "Lounge Gizzard." It's a compilation of the chiller tracks from the 2019 live albums and demos with proceeds going to NAMI. Back "Lounge Gizzard" here: https://qrates.com/projects/22395-lounge-gizzard
Brandon and Laurence join the podcast from the UK! I'm especially grateful they took me up on doing an episode since Brandon's initial message to me was sitting in a spam folder I didn't know existed until last week. They share their experience at the 2019 Ally Pally show and discuss the magic of seeing certain songs played live.

Amber joins the podcast from Atlanta to share her magical King Gizzard experience in Asheville last year. She also introduced a King Gizzard gift exchange last year around the holidays as a means of bringing the Gizz community closer. Frankly, that very well could have subconsciously inspired me to start this podcast.
Changing it up a little this week, as we welcome to the pod Elmo Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets! We discuss the appeal of diversifying musical tastes, recording with iPhones, and pursuing the things in life that make us happy. While this is the least Gizz-centric episode to date, it is one of the most entertaining. Check out Elmo's newly released single, a cover of Frida's '80s hit "I Know There's Something Going On": https://elmokirkwood.bandcamp.com/track/i-know-theres-something-going-on

Akshay is not a fan of King Gizzard, but he's one of my absolute best friends and wanted to come on and roast me for my fandom. This is a different episode for sure, but quite hilarious and will probably hit home for a lot of you fans.
Matt joins the pod from England! He's a big-time vinyl collector and has an intriguing method of consuming music, such as listening to KGATLW on shuffle––don't hate, he actually makes a pretty solid point. He also shares some stories of getting to see King Gizzard play over the last six years and how, on one special occasion, he got to meet the guys.
It's another multi-guest podcast, as I'm joined by Amanda, Andres (aka Cherry), and Jayden! We talk a whole bunch of shit and give some piping hot takes on Gizz, while also discussing Bullant, Lightning Bolt, and the challenges of tie-dyeing.
Evan joins the pod from Maine, where he goes to school and hosts a psych music radio show on WMEB called "Step Outside Your Mind." He's a big-time Phish head, which is the avenue by which he discovered King Gizzard. We go through all sorts of twisting and turning tangents as we speculate who the band's influences might be.
Slade joins the pod from Massachussetts. Thus far, he is the newest Gizzhead to come on the podcast and still has yet to listen to a few albums. I had a blast talking with him, though, since he has that familiar eccentric passion that many of us had when we first discovered the band.
Tom joins the pod from County Durham in northern England. He's a radio guy as well and hosts a Brazilian music show––badass! Our conversation stretches across several topics, including our speculations of Stu MacKenzie's creative process and how additional King Gizzard members having kids might impact their creative output.

Marissa joins the podcast from Portland, OR. She's a longtime fan of psych rock, but relatively new to King Gizzard fandom. We discuss the significance of band merch and other factors that make KGATLW so compelling for their fans to invest in. We also talk about our own transcendent travel experiences and the importance of being free and finding ourselves. Lastly, for anyone who likes Stonefield: Marissa recommends that you check out a local Portland psych band, Blackwater Holylight.
Nick joins the pod from Kansas City, where he's quarantining with his folks. We talk mushroom trips and our favorite King Gizzard albums to pair with them, as well as our current favorite albums to listen to regardless of conscious state. Nick also plays in a band, Starship Pilgrims, so be sure to check them out!
Ben from Boston is my guest this episode! This was recorded the day after Joe Rogan's Spotify deal was announced, so we discuss what that could mean for the future of online streaming. Ben tells a pretty amazing story about seeing King Gizzard at Desert Daze, which led to a fun and long tangent on psychedelics. (We resume talking Gizz at 41:30.)
Tom from Sydney is my guest today. He's a very recent Gizzhead and discovered the band through quite unusual means. We had a blast talking about all things music, comedy, and Australia. Also, just wanted to give a shoutout to Tom's friend, Chalant, who has a sick album on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/midnightchalant/sets/before-i-say-goodnight
