Impact For The Culture is a podcast dedicated to Creating a Positive Impact in the Black Community! We discuss Wellness, Mental Health, Real Estate, Business, Breaking Poverty, Creating Generational Wealth, Lessons Learned and more! If you care about creating positive impact - you’re in the right place!
In this episode ‘Take Care of Yourself” I bring awareness to the challenge of balancing your goals and long to-do lists with the reality of how you feel and what you actually get done. We might want to do 100 things in a week but our motivation, time, and exhaustion might only produce completing 10. Not finishing everything you need to and not accomplishing all you hope to accomplish can be discouraging. I want to encourage each of you to take the time to take care of yourself above everything. Prioritize pouring into yourself, cultivating good habits and making sure you are good. Everything else will be positively impacted by your positive outlook and heathy lifestyle. We often pour into our business, job, kids, family, etc before ourselves and that model is not sustainable if you want to enjoy your life. You have to come first. Join me on this journey of self care and take the time to write out an updated wellness plan. Focus on what you want, what you need, timeframe of your goals and how you are going to take action. Dm me if you want to talk about it in more detail! It's always good to connect with like minded people working towards something similar. My Instagram is @faithfullywealthy. I look forward to connecting with you!
Episode 24 titled “Restructuring Your Life” is a combination of lessons and examples. I wanted to outline steps I have taken that have helped me restructure my life but also wanted to make sure to give you examples where these steps worked and created a positive impact. Change isn't always comfortable but in this episode I encourage you to go through your process so you can get to the other side of the discomfort and be operating on a solid foundation. Here are some of the things I discuss in this episode: Take the time to self reflect. Identify what works and what doesn't work. Focus on your health and wellness. Create business plans, life plans and budget consistently. Identify short term goals and long term goals. Create a strategic plan to achieve your goals. Pivot and create CHANGE. You can't do the same thing and expect different results. Hire a professional, expert, business and / or life coach and seek mentorship. This episode “Finish What You Start” is about my recent experience completing a 17 year journey in pursuit of a bachelors degree. My goal with this episode is to give you a quick life update since I haven't published an episode since February and encourage you to finish that project or assignment you've been thinking about. Keep working towards your goals. Continue to push the agenda forward. Don't give up. Finish what you start. It doesn't matter how long it takes…what is meant for you will be for you. Cultivate your community and surround yourself with positive, healthy relationships. I hope you guys have had an amazing summer and I am looking forward to continuing to connect with y'all moving forward. If you have learned something from this podcast or have gained value from it, please share it on social media and tag me directly @faithfullywealthy.
In this episode I talk about the importance of continuing to push forward. “Keep Going!” Is an important message I have to tell myself daily. In the midst of storms, stress, life, blessings and burdens… it's easy to get overwhelmed and lose track of what needs to be done to live our best lives. We can get distracted and retract. I am constantly battling myself and my bad habits. If you struggle to be happy, to stay on track and / or to be consistent with pushing forward despite what you're going through…. Tune in. I recorded it today and wanted to share it right away so it's not edited but I hope it's helpful. If you like this podcast please leave a 5-star review and share it on social media. I would love to connect on IG at @faithfullywealthy
This episode is dedicated to all of the amazing, resilient, hard working, big dream having people that struggle and have experienced trauma throughout life. I am here for you and I know that focusing on yourself and what YOU need isn't always easy or at the top of the list but please tune in and take the time to self reflect. There's a limit to what we are capable of if we aren't good. There's more that can be accomplished if we do cater to our needs. I pray you heal and continue to live the abundant, thriving, flourishing life you deserve filled with happiness, peace, great health, wealth, love and success. Healing isn't always easy. Working with a counselor isn't always fun. Unpacking trauma doesn't always feel good. It will however always and forever be worth it. Thank you so much for taking the time to support me by listening to this podcast.
In this episode, I share insight on my experience blending family and business! Balancing the two can be hard at times so I want to share some of what works for me and what doesn't with hope that it helps you create more peace and order in your life down the line. To me, balance doesn't mean everything is perfect and that you have all this energy to tackle everything and that life always goes according to plan. It's the opposite. Life isn't perfect and stuff is always coming up that throws you off, but if you implement things that assist you with maintaining your balance the process can be much more enjoyable. I do recommend you write some notes as you tune in. If you aren't able to catch everything, take the time to highlight what resonates with you most. Once this episode is over, take a quick minute to self reflect about the items on your list and pick 2-5 top priority things you want to focus on. Life is a one day at a time process and it's no rush. Remember….building proper habits and actually implementing change even if it's one thing, promotes sustainability. We achieve long term success when we take the time to pour into ourselves and implement strategic plans to improve our lives. I am proud of you and thank you for tuning in! If this episode resonates with you, please share it on instagram and tag me! My IG is @faithfullywealthy!
In this episode I explain that I have a habit / history of trying to rush and finish a bunch of tasks before the end of every year. This habit is not an effective one and over the years I've learned how to strategically plan for what's ahead instead of stressing myself out. Take the time to strategize and self reflect. A new year is a new opportunity to live your best life. It is an opportunity to cultivate your health and wellness. It's a new opportunity to thrive and flourish. As we push our agenda forward, let's identify what works and what doesn't so we can attempt to avoid stress and chaos. I wish you the best and pray that 2024 is your most abundant year yet. Thank you for tuning in to this episode and if you haven't already please share it on social media and / or leave a 5-star review. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Tune in if you feel like you need to declutter various areas of your life, your home and or your business. Reorganizing and resetting is a responsible and necessary task every once in a while. As we live and go about life sometimes things get crazy and out of place…that's normal. But what can we do to create flow and order? How can we organize our life in a way where we are eliminating stress and chaos? In this episode, I share my decade + of experience working to live a luxurious/minimalistic/ organized / clean / stress free life. Building wealth, growing businesses, taking care of yourself and your family, etc is not easy and can be extremely overwhelming at times. I am a true believer that your environment contributes to the quality of your life and how to days go. If this resonates with you and you are interested in creating change, reorganizing and giving yourself a reset, join me on my journey and connect with me on Instagram to share where you're at with it and what your goals are! I look forward to working on this together! This episode was recorded a few weeks ago and I wasn't sure if I wanted to share it but f*ck it here you go lol. Feeling like sh*t and looking like sh*t sucks. It's frustrating, discouraging and in some cases debilitating. I'm sure this message isn't for everyone but anyone that's tuning in and for the people that do resonate: I appreciate you, you are amazing, beautiful, handsome, talented and I am so proud of you and all you've done. I decided to talk about feeling like shit because It's been relevant in my life on and off for my entire life. I always go through phases where I am insecure or self conscious. The crazy part is as time passes, I look back at my pictures and videos sometimes and think about how beautiful and happy I look but I remember that in those moments I didn't feel that way. I remember in the moments of depression, anxiety and suffering just feeling like I looked like shit. Feeling like you could see my suffering when you looked at me. Even at times where I've been doing well mentally, there's still situations where I don't feel my best physically. No matter what I've been through, 8 times out of 10, I had a issue with one thing or another and was self conscious about something. Nothing was or ever is perfect. With that being said, I am not interested in waiting until the time passes to realize it was better than I thought. I want to live in the moment and appreciate what it is in all seasons of my life. I am challenging myself to take action and consistently to do what will contribute to me feeling my best. We have to take care of ourselves and take the time to pour into us and our needs. I hope this short message was encouraging and that you focus on how amazing you truly are. Take care of you. Love yourself and pour into yourself. You deserve to feel good, amazing, heathy and at peace. Thank you again and I look forward to connecting with you on the next episode! This episode, ‘Didn't Go According To Plan' was motivated by an experience I had last week while attempting to record a new podcast episode. I drafted an outline about Real Estate Market Tends and I quit less than 5 minutes into recording it. My energy was low because I've been sick and I just wasn't feeling it. I couldn't focus and follow the outline. I abruptly stopped mid recording and said “I'm not doing this” lol. I sat there for a few minutes to think about what topic I could record off the top of my head to salvage the time I dedicated. Naturally something not going according to plan came to mind and I got right back into it. Although, nothing is perfect, I am so grateful for my ability to discern when it's time to pivot and go a different direction. Here's some tips I outlined in this episode: 1. Know when it's time to pivot. 2. Pushing yourself into something you wouldn't normally do can be a great thing but so is staying in your comfort zone if that means you're getting things done. 3. Simplify your process. Personally and professionally, take the time to simplify your habits and routines. Stop overthinking and get your tasks done. 4. Create realistic to-do lists and finish what you start. Don't get in the habit of rolling your tasks over to the next day! Finish so you can move down your list. Simplicity will make it easier to finish your tasks. 5. You're doing a great job regardless of where you're at in your process. Focus on pouring into yourself, loving yourself and continuing to give yourself exactly what you need. One day at a time. In this episode I also referenced a business coach I've worked with in the past named Cat Del Carmen. Cat's podcast is Latinas Booked Out https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/latinas-booked-out/id1491259190 and her Instagram is @catdelcarmen. I highly recommend tuning in if you're interested in learning more about her coaching programs and simplifying your business. I hope you enjoyed this episode! “Resistance To Results” was motivated by a slow week I had recently. I was tired, unmotivated, not feeling well and emotionally drained. As I let the days pass without being as productive as I wanted to be, I began to get increasingly stressed and my productivity continued to decline. I had to remind myself that being complacent in my misery was not a strategy I was willing to accept and feed into. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way and realize that we are allowing ourselves to be miserable and a lack of action will just continue to perpetuate the issue. As I was self reflecting and trying to get myself out of a negative space, I decided to share my perspective with you. In the long run, you have to be good in order for life to be smooth, peaceful and enjoyable but in the short term, nothing is perfect and it's normal to have down days. You have to push through! Don't let it build up. Snap out of it. Give yourself what you need and take it one moment, one day at a time. Turn your resistance into results! I appreciate you for your support and taking the time to listen to this podcast. Please share it on social media and connect with me on Instagram at @faithfullywealthy.
This episode is about the importance of being willing to pivot in your life and business when necessary. I was motivated to share this topic with you because it's been a season of pivoting for myself, my family, friends, clients and colleagues. As I recorded the episode, I found myself referencing how society perceives success on social media and the importance of not allowing that to distract you from your own life and goals. Allowing yourself to be inspired by things you see online is important and okay but don't stress yourself out trying to emulate the same lifestyle you follow without knowing the stress, burden and sacrifice that comes with what you seek. Wealth, abundance, overflow, more than enough, blessings, health, etc are all 10000% obtainable and I want that for all of us but I want the amazing life you build and continue to build for yourself to be sustainable and enjoyable. In order for it to be sustainable, you have to build a solid foundation. Focus on yourself and your life. Stay in your lane. Understand blessings do come with burdens. Prepare yourself for the blessings. Prepare yourself for the burdens. Focus on your wellness and surround yourself with good people that care about you and experts that are willing to be transparent. This episode is dedicated to my mom who I mentioned at the end of the episode when referencing several loans she's given me, one specifically to help me buy a car in 2014. I just want her and anyone that's helped me in life to know how grateful I am and that none of what has been done goes unnoticed. I am forever thankful for any support, love, resources, opportunities, advice, lessons and relationships I've gained over the years. To my mom and anyone that's contributed to who I am today, thank you - thank you - thank you! Episode 13. “Real Estate Tax Crisis” was inspired by my decade + of experience working with investors and developers to manage their real estate taxes and file appeals when they are being inaccurately over-charged. This issue is urgent and relevant for anyone that owns property or knows someone that does. Please share this information. Based on preliminarily research I found that, “most local governments in the United States impose a property tax, also known as a millage rate, as a principal source of revenue. This tax may be imposed on real estate or personal property. The tax is nearly always computed as the fair market value of the property times an assessment ratio times a tax rate, and is generally an obligation of the owner of the property. Values are determined by local officials, and may be disputed by property owners.” Due to the fact that real estate taxes are based on your properties market value, it's very important to make sure your market value is accurate. If you notice your value is significantly higher than comparable neighboring properties…research the market value appeal process in your city. Philadelphia homeowners and investors!!! Please go to www.property.phila.gov, type in your property address and review your Market Value / Taxable Land Values for 2024 and all years prior! If we don't get in front of inaccurate overassessed market values, if we don't identify a solution at scale, we could see a significant increase in real estate tax delinquencies and subsequently a significant decline in ownership within our communities. The wealth that we've built, that our family has built, that our ancestors built and obtained through real estate could continue to be lost. I encourage you to share this information with anyone that will listen. Whether you are a homeowner, investor, know someone that is, or you currently rent. Regardless of where you are at this information is relevant. “Misery Loves Company” is a lesson I've learned continuously over the years. Most importantly, what I've realized is that the good healthy relationships I've had, have shined light on how toxic the negative relationships are and can be. It's crucial to protect your peace and have the discernment to be able to identify who is contributing positively and who is negatively impacting your life. I believe some people don't even realize how toxic their behavior is and maybe some people do, but it's up to YOU to protect yourself from anything that no longer serves you. It's up to YOU to guard your heart and do what you can to create distance and separation from anyone that's purposefully and consistently trying to destroy your peace. I struggled with my mental health and suffered for many years. I still suffer sometimes. As I grow and self reflect it's so clear to me that the pain I felt was due to the company I was keeping and even relationships and partnerships at a distance contributed to me being at my lowest because I allowed the disrespect, toxic behavior and harassment to impact me. I was consumed by it and over time it became debilitating. I pray that this message serves as a reminder to audit the company you keep and make sure you continue to make adjustments as needed. If you or someone you know is struggling, please seek help and support. Health and wellness is the most important part of life. You deserve to be good, to be at peace, to feel better, to thrive, to flourish, to heal and to have healthy habits that enable you to deal with whatever comes your way. It's okay to take this journey one day, one moment at a time. I wish you many blessings filled with success, love, peace and healthy relationships. Suffering looks different depending on where you're at in life. I was reminded of that recently and wanted to share my perspective with you. When I talk about mental health and the importance of taking care of yourself, it's because there have been many times I didn't do that and struggled significantly as a result of it. This episode was inspired by Episode 8. “Thinking Big”. I love motivating you guys to have abundant mindsets & want you to achieve all your dreams but I also want the process to be peaceful & less stressful. When I reflect on my journey to chasing my dreams and building my businesses, I can't help but think about what life would have been like if I had focused more on building a solid foundation before growing and scaling my business & lifestyle. When you dream big, success can come quickly and it is important to take the time to prepare for the success! I hope this encourages you to spend more time building out your infrastructure so as the opportunities, resources, clients & support comes pouring in, you're able to capture it & thrive.
This episode topic was requested by one of my real estate partners and I am so glad he submitted the request because Thinking Big is such a great topic! On this episode, I share a story about my first real estate deal and business partnership using OPM. OPM, also known as “Other People's Money” is a strategy I've used throughout my real estate career and I believe its an amazing way to push impactful agendas forward while providing opportunities for other people to participate by bringing capital to the table. Working with OPM is a big responsibility and it is a strategy I suggest for individuals and / or organizations that are experienced investors and business owners / operators. Tune in to hear more about some of the lessons I learned and how OPM positively and negatively impacted my life. Thank you for taking the time to tune in to Impact For The Culture Podcast! Anyone that knows me knows I am very passionate about Rebuilding Black Neighborhoods so this episode is especially special to me. I was born and raised on the west coast in a suburb of Seattle and was surrounded by high net-worth individuals. The environments I was exposed to reflected the demographic of people. Because the community was infused with wealth… we had everything we needed for it to be thriving and flourishing. We had good quality housing, safety, security, technology, access to healthy food, jobs, amenities, the schools were brand new, the access to resources and abundance was within reach always. At a young age I was able to conceptualize that the environment my family in Philadelphia was exposed to was completely different. The neighborhoods had significant poverty and lacked a lot of things that I was used to. I attribute my exposure to a thriving community as one of the biggest motivators to my desire to Rebuild Black Neighborhoods. We deserve for our communities to be flourishing and we deserve to capitalize off of the wealth that's being poured into our neighborhoods. There is no reason to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to rebuild neighborhoods that are suffering and not do it strategically and intentionally so the residents can flourish with the community. Rebuilding Black Neighborhoods can be done in a way that benefits the residents but we have to take our time to care about the residents and incorporate them into our community redevelopment plans. If you are interested in rebuilding black neighborhoods and community redevelopment, I salute you and send you all my love and support! Thank you for all you do! It's much needed and appreciated! This episode is all about my weight fluctuation journey and how my health was impacted as a result of not taking care of myself over the years! Wellness is the foundation of success! In this episode I share lessons I've learned and tips to stay consistent with maintaining your health. I also share some info about my medical marijuana license for the first time publicly! I hope this episode inspires you to take one additional step towards cultivating your health and wellness. Apply for health insurance, schedule the appointment, go to the doctor, connect with a counselor, spend more time in nature, stretch, drink water, eat better, pray, love yourself….identify what YOU need. This episode is about a few business lessons I've learned over the years! To anyone new to business and to everyone that owns a business or multiple companies, these lessons are valuable! Owning and operating a business is a lot of responsibility and as you are pouring into your goals and dreams, things can easily get missed. Take the time to audit your business and/or business plans and identify what change needs to occur. Identify what needs to be implemented so your foundation is solid and the success is sustainable! I've spent the last decade cultivating partnerships and learned a lot throughout the process! When you are looking to build businesses, break poverty, create generational wealth and / or rebuild black neighborhoods….Partnerships are mandatory! We cannot do everything ourselves. It's not sustainable to try to do everything ourselves. Creating impactful change is much more efficient when you are connected with like-minded individuals and organizations that can assist you with pushing your agenda forward. As you listen to this episode, identify where you could implement partnerships and take the time to be strategic and intentional throughout your partnership building journey. Not all partnerships work so you want to make sure to be connected with the right people! I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy the episode!
