Playlist:Bb trickz - Tipz & TrickzPanda Bear - PraiseJuan Wauters - If It's Not LuvEyedress, Mac DeMarco - My Simple JeepMyd, Channel Tres, Trueno - All that Glitters is not GoldThe Marías - Back To MeBuscabulla - El CaminoLUSILLON - Muero X Verterusowsky, Ralphie Choo - BBY ROMEOGuitarricadelafuente - Pipe dreamBeirut - Tuanaki AtollNick Mulvey - Holy DaysObongjayar - Sweet DangerEzra Collective, Sasha Keable - Body LanguageBADBADNOTGOOD, V.C.R - Found A Light (Beale Street)Jalen Ngonda - Just As Long As We're TogetherMac Miller - 5 Dollar Pony RidesEscuchar audio

This episode looks at why people still judge men who take on roles usually seen as women's work - caregiving, nursing, teaching, homemaking, and emotional support. It explores how old gender stereotypes shape these views and why change has been slow. I talk about the struggles men face when they choose these paths, how it affects their identity and how society responds. This conversation breaks down why these roles are still seen through a gendered lens and what needs to change.Do share your feedback or comments on my socials:E-mail: hello@rohitkokane.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kokanerohit/X: https://x.com/rohitkokane_Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/podcasterrohitkokane/Glitters of Life Podcast: www.youtube.com/@rohitkokaneGrab the copy of E-book: https://topmate.io/rohitkokane

In this episode I share my appearance on the Glitters of Life podcast, a discussion with host Rohit that occurred over a year ago. Through this engaging dialogue, I revisit my entrepreneurial journey, the principles of being a family-first entrepreneur, and the delicate balance of blending personal values with business dynamics.Together, we explore how to navigate the world of options and opinions, the crucial elements that define authentic leadership, and the delicate dance between enoughness and ambition. We also touch on the transformative power of vulnerability, the importance of maintaining adaptability amidst change, and the timeless influence of story in connecting us all.  I am honored to show up each week for the conversation we're having on the More of What Matters podcast and bring you inspiring and actionable content that I hope is truly helpful for you. "You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It's their mistake, not my failing." — Richard FeynmanEvery day, we make choices - some seem small, some feel life-changing. But over time, even the smallest decisions shape the direction of our lives. The right choices aren't always easy or obvious, but they define who we become. In this episode, I talk about why the choices we make matter more than we think, how they shape our opportunities, and why leaving things to chance is rarely a good idea.If you have ever looked back and wondered, "What if I had chosen differently?" - this one's for you.Let's talk about the decisions that truly make a difference and how to make them with clarity and confidence.Follow me:Website: www.rohitkokane.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kokanerohit/X: https://x.com/rohitkokane_Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/podcasterrohitkokane/Glitters of Life Podcast: www.youtube.com/@rohitkokaneGrab the copy of E-book: https://topmate.io/rohitkokane

Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHThe kids take over the radio show to talk about the booming hazelnut company. It's a gripping segment of radio. Ally tells Nathan that. for her 17th birthday, she wants to have a party with just kids. Nathan and Elizabeth sneak into his office to make out but Oliver is there and that puts a bummer on everything. He tells Nathan he put the case file on his desk. Nathan takes a look at it and he's shocked to find out that Oliver writes at a 4th or 5th grade level. So there's a guy named Jed who also has a nut company and Gowen is pricing his hazelnuts so much lower than his and that's bumming him out. Ned gets a double headed eagle gold coin which is very exciting, and Rosemary thinks that'll be a good radio story...but only with the angle of them inviting the owner to come reclaim it. Lucas is really feeling the pressure about the park and is avoiding the press. So he gets on a train to meet with Eedie and try to figure out a compromise. Rosemary gets word that Lee is up to something secreitive, first with Bill and then with Faith. Cute boy Earl Wyatt comes back into town and Ally is all about him. Lucas comes back into town and Lee gives him the cold shoulder. He tries to go to his office but it's being used for hazelnut storage. Rosemary and Elizabeth decide to spy on Lee and Frickem but they're bad spies and Lee finally admits he's been working on a trail - and he put up a sign that says Goldie Trail. Bill pitches to Rosemary that they investigate the coin together. And Nathan and Elizabeth spend the final 20 minutes looking at each other in slow motion.

This week, Nathan and Riley are joined by a very special guest, the Aftermath Discord's own head moderator Nico “Apple Cider” Deyo (who is also a longtime freelance games journalist), to discuss the trials and tribulations of Asmongold, a Twitch star who found himself in hot water this week when years of escalating reactionary rhetoric culminated in an ill-advised racist rant about Palestinians. This got him suspended from Twitch. Unlike many others who've found themselves in similar situations, Asmongold proceeded to post a seemingly sincere apology video and vowed to change. Can he stick with it, though? And is it possible to truly repair the kind of damage he did before he had his midweek epiphany? Then we move on to the weird zombie version of Waypoint, a beloved video game site, that Vice recently dredged up. It's bad! Lastly, we learn about a new thing Riley hates (Photo modes? For some reason?).   Credits - Hosts: Nathan Grayson, Riley MacLeod, and special guest Nico Deyo - Subscribe to Aftermath!   About The Show Aftermath Hours is the flagship podcast of Aftermath, a worker-owned, subscription-based website covering video games, the internet, and everything that comes after from journalists who previously worked at Kotaku, Vice, and The Washington Post. On Episode 3, Season 6 of The Art Career, Emily sits down with Orlando Whitfield, author of All That Glitters: A STORY OF FRIENDSHIP, FRAUD, AND FINE ART Orlando Whitfield and Inigo Philbrick met in 2006 at London's Goldsmiths University where they became best friends. By 2007 they had started I&O Fine Art. Orlando would eventually set up his own gallery and watch as Inigo quickly immersed himself in a world of private jets and multimillion-dollar deals for major clients. Inigo seemed brilliant, but underneath the extravagant façade, his complicated financial schemes were unraveling. With debt, lawsuits, and court summonses piling up, Inigo went into a tailspin of lies and subterfuge. At around the same time, Orlando would himself experience a nervous breakdown and leave the art world for good. By 2019 things had spiraled enough out of control for Inigo to flee to the remote island nation of Vanuatu, 300 miles west of Fiji. Within a year, he was arrested by the FBI and extradited to America, where he was sentenced to seven years in prison for having committed more than $86 million in fraud. https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/703052/all-that-glitters-by-orlando-whitfield/ https://www.theartcareer.com https://www.instagram.com/theartcareer/?hl=en

#52 In our social media saturated world, how often are we seduced by well marketed products that press our buttons, make us feel inadequate, or rely on stoking our fears and insecurities to keep us hooked and buying what they're selling? How much have we lost the ability to look beyond the snazzy posts or the words that resonate, to consider the substance of what lies beneath and whether it is as 'glittery' as first appears? As a Christian who hears the same messages promising 'great wealth' from Christian enterpreneurs  if I trust God, this 'glitter' looks an awful lot like what the rest of the world tells me is success, and I got to wondering whether that really is what God deems success from life? This episode dives into a little of my wrangling on this topic of discerning the 'fruit' of what may appear at first glance to be positive, when in reality it is downright toxic and more hellish than heavenly. I hope it helps you too and inspires you to also question whether the substance matches the marketing. To connect with me and find out more about how we can work together, go to www.DrKathrine.com   *Side note: at one point, when I'm talking about someone with a sketchy past, I also refer to it as 'SHADY'. I realise that with my accent it may sound like I swore but I didn't, it was just my accent making 'shady' sound dodgy!!!

Writer, former art dealer, and author of All that Glitters- A Story of Friendship, Fraud, and Fine Art, Orlando Whitfield talks about: His interest in street photography, and how philosophy and critical thinking led him to apply and then attend Goldsmith's College; a quick update on his former friend, co-worker, collaborator and employer Inigo Philbrick, who in the book was sentenced to seven years in prison but has since been released, and how he sent a heckler to one of Orlando's book readings; how and why Orlando feels Philbrick has changed since the time of their friendship and working relationship, particularly in the last 7 years, about the time that he began committing fraud in his private art dealings; the various ways Orlando wasn't cut out to be a dealer, particularly the perpetual let-downs after a seemingly very interested buyer (from a pool of too wealthy, feckless, collectors) suddenly pulls out, and how 9 out 10 deals die on the vine; the challenge of indoctrinating new collectors from his and his gallerist partner's (Ben Hunter) friends- they could either go on holiday or buy art, not both, and so opted for the former; his involvement in a complex secondary market sale of a Christopher Wool work on paper, including the various stresses and complexities which ultimately, even though lucrative for Orlando, made him feel like a fraud. To listen to the full episode with Orlando Whitfield, please become a Patreon supporter of the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/theconversationpod In the 2nd half of the episode, available to Patreon subscribers, Orlando discusses: The very wealthy inhabitants of the art world, many of whom Orlando encountered, and their separation from, and sometimes even contempt for, those who aren't also rich themselves; how in his transition to becoming a writer, he's found the writing world/community much more open and welcoming than the art world; how he finds the way the art world operates is like an aristocracy, where you're not told the rules until you've broken them; how All that Glitters has sold well thus far in the U.K., and how the rights have been purchased for television by a UK production company; and who Orlando thinks should play Orlando, who Inigo thinks should play Inigo, and who I think should play Inigo in the film version of the book.

Orlando Whitfield started his career as a dealer in the feverish global art market but left it disillusioned and burnt-out a decade later. Today he works as a writer and his recent book is All That Glitters, a memoir that explores his experience as an associate of Inigo Philbrick, an ambitious art market player who in 2022 was sentenced to seven years in prison for defrauding investors in what has been described as allegedly the biggest art fraud in American history. Whitfield, by contrast, ended up in rehab and embarked on a period of painful self-reflection. All that Glitters reads like a script for a thrilling heist movie, which, indeed, it is likely to become since HBO has recently acquired the rights. Joining Whitfield in conversation for this episode is Kathryn Hughes, a literary critic at the Guardian and Professor at the University of East Anglia. Her latest book, Catland, concerns the Edwardian artist Louis Wain whose popular illustrations changed the way that the modern world thinks about cats.
