In this episode of Reboot IT, host Dave Coriale sits down with Vinnu Deshetty, Product Manager at the American Chemical Society, Event ROI Coach, and longtime PCMA instructor, to discuss the evolving role of technology in events. They explore how AI is reshaping planning and analytics, how associations can better serve exhibitors and attendees, and why intentional innovation matters more than ever. Vinnu shares practical insights on avoiding “shiny tech syndrome,” aligning tech with business goals, and using data to drive meaningful outcomes. The conversation highlights the importance of purpose-driven decisions in delivering real value from events. Themes and Topics: The Current State of Event Technology Events are operating “between four and five” in tech adoption, reflecting strong progress with room for improvement. Associations are balancing traditional goals like attendance with new expectations for engagement and personalization. AI is accelerating innovation while increasing complexity in tool selection. Purpose-Built Event Tech (Not One-Size-Fits-All) Technology is now tailored to planners, attendees, and exhibitors instead of being one broad solution. Vendors are solving specific pain points like workflows, engagement, and lead generation. Comparing solutions is more complex because platforms are no longer “apples to apples.” AI's Growing Impact on Event Operations AI is reducing manual work, like building session schedules.  Systems can learn from past data such as session ratings and attendance trends.  Predictive analytics and real-time insights are becoming more common in decision-making.  Data Strategy: Start with Intent Organizations often collect too much data without a clear purpose. Defining the questions upfront is critical to making data actionable. Focusing on a few key goals prevents teams from trying to “boil the ocean.” Exhibitor Expectations and ROI Pressure Exhibitors are asking sharper questions about ROI and measurable outcomes. Associations compete with alternative marketing channels for sponsor dollars. Integrated systems now provide better insights into lead generation and attendee behavior. Change Management and Innovation Mindset Innovation requires intentional planning, not just adopting “shiny” tools. Pilot programs and incremental changes help reduce risk. Understanding stakeholder impact is essential before rolling out new technology.

Jacks joins us this week to continue our journey into Hope Valley: 1874. ABOUT: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 8) Gearing up for the boarding house's opening, Rebecca and Tom look for a thief. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 8) May 7, 2026 | Hallmark Channel CAST & CREW OF: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 8) Bethany Joy Lenz as Rebecca Clarke Benjamin Ayres as Tom Moore BRAN'S HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 8) SYNOPSIS The British fella, Mr. Maxwell, comes downstairs and when Rebecca questions where he came from, he gets weird and decides to take his breakfast up to his room. The prospectors are in a bit of a frenzy - gold nuggets are going missing at an alarming rate. Tom comes in and starts to help with the decorating for the party. When Rebecca sees a picture of her husband, she starts to be a little less warm to Tom and he notices. Suddenly, a bunch of the prospectors come into the boarding house looking for Alexander. They want to report the missing gold. Tom meets with a guy who wants to sell him his land. Tom is ready to expand. Rebecca notices that her ring is missing. Where are all these things going?!?!?! Rebecca begins to suspect that Mr. Maxwell is up to no good. He goes to leave one night and Rebecca decides to follow him. Naturally, Tom is like oh I'm so in. Doyal brings a good bit of gold into Hattie's to cash out. Naturally she becomes a bit suspicious of him. Perhaps he's the gold thief. Tom and Rebecca track Mr. Maxwell into the woods and find this weird dirty area that it appears he's using to mark something. BUT WHAT?! Rebecca, feeling the chemistry with Tom, tells him I don't know how to move on without letting go of the past and she doesn't know how to let go. He says he understands. The next day, Rebecca once again goes into Mr. Maxwell's room and starts snooping through his bag. When he gets back, she asks him to open his bag. There's a ton of rocks in there, but nothing stolen. She's like well you're not looking for gold, what are you looking for? He tells her coal. Alexander and Tom go to look for the guy that was caught trying to steal gold from one of the prospectors. They stop him - it's Jeremiah, one of the guys who left working with Tom to prospect. He was selling stuff and sending that money to his fiancée. He's also sold Rebecca's ring. So Tom goes to try to get it back. It's party time! Tom and Alexander show up with the good and bad news. They're all shocked. Tom tells them all that Jeremiah is going to work for him and they'll all get their money back from his wages. Alexander then returns Rebecca's ring that they were able to retrieve. Tom told him not to tell her that it was him that paid to get it back. Alexander and Olivia dance together just as Clayton walks in. She tells Alexander about the school. He tells her that she has to go. Clayton comes to cut in. She tells him and he's like you can't go. But if you do, please come back. Rebecca finds out that Tom is no longer buying that land. Apparently he's a little short on cash. Doyal tells Tom that he bought the land. He's bummed. So Rebecca goes to dance with him. She asks if he gave up the land for her. She tells him that she's gonna hold onto it for a little while longer and then eventually pass it on to Sarah. He tells her to let it go when she's ready. The episode ends with another mountie coming into the party. He tells Alexander that he's here to arrest Rebecca, for being a thief. Alexander does it and she yells at Tom to protect Sarah. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? Terry shared a story about accidentally sending out baseball tickets to church members while his wife was using his phone, and another about receiving whole coffee beans from a food pantry and having to grind them himself. Keith mentioned an upcoming Audible special offering free months of service until July 31st, and briefly touched on Disney’s decision to ban certain consumer products from their parks. News of the Week Terry shared a story about an athletic dog running in an Indianapolis mini marathon that had not been claimed by authorities. Jill then presented a story about a Mexican circus performer, Diana Hermosilla, who set a Guinness World Record by lifting 166 pounds with her hair, surpassing the previous record holder who lifted 122 pounds. The conversation included lighthearted commentary about the hair-lifting technique. Keith shared a baseball story about a Seattle Mariners pitcher who caught a line drive in his jersey, resulting in a “dead play” where the runner was allowed to stay on base. Terry then told a story about a Boston bakery’s mascot, an ice cream cone named Swirly, that had gone missing over the winter and was later found in a dorm room window. Jill talked about bees living in a sewer in Pennsylvania, with plans to relocate them to a bee farm. Keith shared a story about a real radio station called WKRP making a comeback in Cincinnati, using a legal loop involving a non-profit station in North Carolina. The discussion ended with Keith mentioning he was curious if the station would implement the famous “turkey drop” stunt from the fictional TV show WKRP in Cincinnati. Terry shared news about a world record attempt in Miami where 277 dogs participated in a pool party. Jill's Weird Words The conversation then shifted to playing a word game where participants took turns defining and guessing words like catenation, alpenglow, and fulcrum. Terry's Top 10 List The group discussed Terry’s humorous Mother’s Day attempts, including a glitter explosion and dandelion flowers. Anchor Topic They then shifted to discussing manual skills for blind individuals, sharing experiences about woodcraft projects at rehabilitation centers. Keith emphasized that blindness doesn’t prevent people from engaging in hobbies and crafts, noting that safety equipment and proper techniques allow blind individuals to work effectively in woodshops. Email and Final Thoughts Keith reviewed voicemails and emails sent to their podcast, sharing humorous stories from listeners. They discussed a story about a repairman who was warned not to talk to the owner’s parrot, only to be found doing exactly that. Another email told a story about a housekeeper who quit to open her own business, teaching the lesson that financial smarts aren’t always taught in college. Keith shared a voicemail about a blonde at a casino who stripped down to roll the dice, and a story about a construction worker who accidentally ended up naked in a doctor’s office while claiming to have shingles. The final word from our AI companion The meeting was a casual podcast recording session where Terry, Keith, and Jill shared jokes and humorous anecdotes. The participants took turns telling jokes covering various topics like food, animals, technology, and everyday situations. At the end of the recording, Keith provided closing remarks, encouraging listeners to share the show with friends and visit their website at thatsoundsfunny.com for more content and to leave feedback. In this eye-opening message titled “Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold,” Pastor Sean Pinder teaches from the sobering story of Israel's defeat at Ai and the hidden sin in the camp. He reveals how something that appeared valuable and desirable brought serious consequences because it violated God's command. This message uncovers the danger of allowing hidden compromise to take root and reminds us that appearances can be deceiving when they are not aligned with God's will.Pastor Sean challenges believers to examine their hearts and walk in obedience, understanding that secret sin never stays secret and always affects more than one person. Through this powerful lesson, you'll be encouraged to choose integrity over temporary gain and to pursue holiness so God's favor and victory can flow freely in your life.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold #RTTBROS #Nightlight"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." — 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)Back in the twelfth century, a French theologian named Alain de Lille wrote something that would echo through the centuries: "Do not hold everything gold that shines like gold." Eventually it became the phrase we know today: "All that glitters is not gold."These medieval thinkers understood something we sometimes forget. Appearances can be mighty deceiving. Fool's gold sparkled just as pretty as real gold, but it was worthless when you tried to spend it.We're so quick to be impressed by surface things. Someone drives up in an expensive car, and we assume they're successful. Someone speaks with confidence, and we figure they must know what they're talking about. Someone looks put-together, and we think they must have their life figured out.But God showed Samuel a different way of seeing. When Samuel looked at Eliab, Jesse's oldest son, he thought, "Surely this is the one. Look how tall and strong and kingly he appears." But God said, "Don't look at his appearance or his height. I've rejected him. Man looks at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart."Seven sons passed before Samuel. Every one looked like king material to human eyes. Then came David, the youngest, the shepherd boy nobody even thought to call in from the fields. And God said, "This is the one."Friend, the world is full of glittering things that aren't gold. The only way to tell real gold from fool's gold is to test it. And the only way to see what God sees is to ask Him to give you His eyes. Look for character, not just charisma. Look for faithfulness, not just flashiness. Look for the heart, because that's what matters to the One who matters most.Prayer:Father, help me see past the glitter to what's really gold. Give me Your eyes to see hearts, not just appearances. In Jesus' name, Amen.Be sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe. It helps get the word out.https://linktr.ee/rttbros

Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHThe kids take over the radio show to talk about the booming hazelnut company. It's a gripping segment of radio. Ally tells Nathan that. for her 17th birthday, she wants to have a party with just kids. Nathan and Elizabeth sneak into his office to make out but Oliver is there and that puts a bummer on everything. He tells Nathan he put the case file on his desk. Nathan takes a look at it and he's shocked to find out that Oliver writes at a 4th or 5th grade level. So there's a guy named Jed who also has a nut company and Gowen is pricing his hazelnuts so much lower than his and that's bumming him out. Ned gets a double headed eagle gold coin which is very exciting, and Rosemary thinks that'll be a good radio story...but only with the angle of them inviting the owner to come reclaim it. Lucas is really feeling the pressure about the park and is avoiding the press. So he gets on a train to meet with Eedie and try to figure out a compromise. Rosemary gets word that Lee is up to something secreitive, first with Bill and then with Faith. Cute boy Earl Wyatt comes back into town and Ally is all about him. Lucas comes back into town and Lee gives him the cold shoulder. He tries to go to his office but it's being used for hazelnut storage. Rosemary and Elizabeth decide to spy on Lee and Frickem but they're bad spies and Lee finally admits he's been working on a trail - and he put up a sign that says Goldie Trail. Bill pitches to Rosemary that they investigate the coin together. And Nathan and Elizabeth spend the final 20 minutes looking at each other in slow motion.
