Homecoming:Mel Murray, 10 a.m. Mel Murray graduated as a presidential scholar from John Brown University ('01) with a degree in Intercultural Studies, after which she launched into a career in marketing. Following her passions and calling, Mel and her husband moved their young family of four to Northern India in 2010 and launched multiple ventures, including a vertically integrated ethical fashion brand, a high-end boutique guitar brand, and a nonprofit venture studio that partners with under-resourced entrepreneurs in challenging regions to launch sustainable, scalable businesses. Mel is Partner for Praxis Global Community, serving a diverse group of ecosystem builders and leaders, activating redemptive entrepreneurship in communities all throughout the world. She serves on the board of JoyCorps and HOPE International.

Juan Carlos RodriguezSpanish Service Juan Rodriguez, who is from El Salvador, earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from JBU in 2006, an M.S. in mechanical engineering from University of Tulsa in 2008 and an M.S. in higher education and leadership from JBU in 2016. He worked at JBU for ten years, including as a professor of mechanical engineering, and most recently as Dean of Residence Life. It was during Juan's first semester at JBU that God saved him, so he wholeheartedly believes in the transformational power of Christian higher education. He currently works for Kawneer in Springdale, Arkansas, as an extrusion process engineer, and lives with his wife Lulu and three daughters, Emma, Valentina and Camila.

Convocation /Roberta AhmansonRoberta Green Ahmanson is a writer, speaker, and philanthropist who focuses on the confluence of religion, art, and culture. For the past 30 years her work has been influenced by travel across the globe. In 2022 she and her husband Howard led a tour for seven presidents of historic Christian colleges to experience the DNA of the Christian faith through its art and architecture, starting at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, journeying to Rome, Pisa, Bologna, Ravenna, Padua, Venice, Aachen, Ghent, and London. Her focus is on the ways built reality embodies ideas and even doctrine. She and her husband have sponsored exhibitions at the National Gallery in London including The Sacred Made Real and Francis of Assisi. She is a member of the Collectors Committee of the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. She is coming to the finish line of a book on how longing for the New Jerusalem has shaped art and architecture in the West. She has been a teacher and a journalist covering religion.
BPAC:Steve Beerswith Sophomores Rev. Dr. Steve Beers has worked in higher education for four decades, most recently serving as Vice President for Student Development for 26 years prior to his retirement from JBU. He has a B.A. in psychology and Bible, an M.S. in counseling, an Ed.D. in education, and plans to earn a D.Min. in the fall of 2025. His publications include various articles and books, with his most recent being a chapter addressing student anxiety in Stewarding Our Bodies: A Vision for Christian Student Affairs.

Spiritual Emphasis Week:Harry Li Harry Li, Ph.D., is Senior Pastor of Mosaic Church • Little Rock where he has served for over 23 years. He has a heart for bringing some 30 nations together, and building a multi-ethnic, economically diverse church in an under-resourced urban setting. He regularly provides Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Training for a variety of faith-based educational institutions, houses of worship, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Prior to coming to Mosaic, Harry was Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Idaho, where he did research for NASA, Boeing, and others in the development of high voltage, radiation tolerant integrated circuits for deep space exploration. Harry has a heart for prayer ministry, having led a citywide prayer movement in Little Rock and facilitating many worship-based prayer retreats for pastors, churches, and ministries. Harry and his wife, Melanie, reside in Little Rock.

Ian McCready Ian McCready was a former video game addict, gaming 12 to 14 hours a day before he quit games and founded Selfctrl, a non-profit ministry focused on helping people build self-control and redeem their time from technology. He has led speaking events and in-depth workshops for students of all ages, parents, young professionals, and churches. Ian lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and two children.

Matthew Milliner Matthew J. Milliner is Professor of Art History at Wheaton College. A graduate of Princeton University (Ph.D. and M.A.) and Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), he has written for publications ranging from The New York Times to Comment (where he writes a column entitled “Material Mysticism”). He is the author of The Everlasting People: G.K. Chesterton and the First Nations and Mother of the Lamb: The Story of a Global Icon. His visit is sponsored in part by the Honors Scholars Program and the JBU College of Bible, Humanities, and Art.
Andrea SummersRev. Dr. Andrea Summers is the Dean of Spiritual Formation and Campus Pastor at Indiana Wesleyan University. She loves to preach and teach Scripture and is passionate about raising up the next generation of dynamic leaders for spiritual awakening. She lives in Marion, Indiana with her husband, Jeremy, and four kids.

Anthony Bradley Dr. Anthony Bradley is Distinguished Research Fellow at the Acton Institute. Prior to joining Acton, Dr. Bradley was Professor of Religious Studies at The King's College in New York City where he also served as director for the Center for the Study of Human Flourishing. He holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University, a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary, a Masters in Ethics and Society from Fordham University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Westminster Theological Seminary. Rebecca McLaughlinRebecca McLaughlin holds a Ph.D. in Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University and a theology degree from Oak Hill College in London. She is the author of a number of books, including Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World's Largest Religion, which was named book of the year by Christianity Today. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband, Bryan, and their three children, and their wider church family.

CHR Relationships Week: Val Lieske Val Lieske is the founder and Managing Artistic Director of a theatre group in Alberta, Canada, where she ministers for the gospel. She has a B.A. in Theatre & Speech from Trinity Guild (UK) and freelances as a speaker, educator, writer and spoken word artist. She is a licensed minister, a chaplain to the arts community, and enjoys drinking coffee with creative people. Val comes as a guest of the Center for Healthy Relationships at JBU.

Vanessa Reynoso (James 1:1-4; 5:7-12) Vanessa Reynoso graduated from JBU in 2021 with a degree in Family and Human Services. During her time at JBU, she was a women's soccer standout, wearing the blue and gold from 2018 to 2021. After graduation, Vanessa began the graduate counseling program at JBU and served as the assistant coach from January 2022 through May 2024.

Jubilant Sykes Jubilant Sykes, JBU's 2024 Artist in Residence, is a professional American baritone vocalist. He has appeared with many of the world's finest orchestras, and his unique gifts have taken him to stages such as the Metropolitan Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center. His visit is sponsored by the Music & Theatre Department.

World Awareness Week: Donna Fast Donna Fast and her husband Loren, both JBU alumni ('74), served for 41 years as missionaries with AIM International. Donna's heart for missions from the age of four led her to multiple assignments while ministering in Africa. Donna and Loren also served as JBU Missionaries in Residence in 2001-2002.
