We just wanted to share briefly about this weeks podcast. You'll quickly notice that it's a bit different from the weekly sermons we've been posting. As a community, we're moving into what we're calling a summer of rest. Taking time to look back at where we've been these last two years, taking inventory of where we are, truly, right now, and beginning to dream about where God is calling us going forward. In order to do that, it's critical for us to create rhythms of slowing down, reflecting and contemplating, and truly finding the deeper meaning of sustained, lasting rest for our souls. One of the ways we're doing that is by occasionally structuring our worship services to create space for breath, slowly engaging with the sacred texts and meditating on the presence of God with us, here and now. This past Sunday we did just that. We wanted to provide a glimpse into what that sounds like. We hope you'll be able to go back to these practices from last week and use them in your own personal time of abiding in the presence of God. And, if you weren't able to join us, we hope all the same that you'll have a small window into the way we're creating these rhythms as a community, even in our Sunday worship together. That being said, we hope you enjoy what we've put together for this episode. God bless all of you, and may God's kindness and love find you exactly where you are.Lectio Divina reading, Deuteronomy 34:1-4 (NIV) led by Danny BrunjesConfessional prayer written and led by Mike Conner, assurance from 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 (NIV)Centering prayer written and led by Sarah Claire SmithOur theme song is “Surrounding You”, written and recorded by our music collective, Paradise HymnsAll editing and production by Danny Brunjes
Happy Easter! We explore Jesus’ question to Mary Magdalene from John 20. Who is it that you’re looking for?
We celebrate Palm Sunday by exploring what it looks like for our king to come into our midst on a lowly donkey.
We look at a very familiar passage of scripture and explore how if we open our minds to the expanse of God’s love we’d be surprised what we find.
This week, we look at how EMBODYING transformation requires us to go down the mountain, even when we'‘d rather stay at the top.
As we continue in the lectionary with Mark 1:29-39, we look at what it means to EMBODY gathering and the example we find in Jesus as he himself becomes our gathering place.
Tonight we explored how the authority of Jesus loves us into freedom and liberation.
We look at Mark 1:14-20 as we explore our call from Jesus to GO and we explore where we’re going.
This week we looked introspectively at who we are as the body of Christ and how repentance is part of our calling.
After a incredibly difficult week, we are reminded of our baptism and the significance of what it means for our ultimate citizenship in the Kingdom of God.
We look to John 1:1-18 as we unpack how Jesus is our light in the darkness.
In our third week of Advent, we look to Mary’s song in Luke 1:46-55 and listen to her song of waiting.
We continue in our EMBODY Advent series by looking to Isaiah 40:1-11. Drew unpacks how we find God’s comfort in the midst of chaos and a particularly chaotic year.
We kick off our first week of Advent season with Isaiah 64:1-9 and look at what it means to EMBODY waiting.
We had the distinct honor of hearing from Dr. Brittany Melton as she unpacks what it looks like to EMBODY wisdom and gives us a fresh prospective on Proverbs 31.
We continue our series on EMBODYING God’s grace as we turn to Philippians 4:4-9 and unpack the gentleness of grace.
As we all recover from a contentious and divided time in our nation after the presidential election, we look to Philippians 3 to find our ultimate citizenship in the Kingdom of God, marked by the grace of another home.
As we continue exploring how we EMBODY God’s grace, we look at how Jesus did not use his advantage for his own gain, but for the other and how we are called to the same.
We begin an overview study on the book of Phillipians as we explore God’s grace, the third core value of Providencia WPB. Drew helped us unpack the gift of dependency on one another and on the grace of God.
We continue looking at EMBODYING our story as we turn to Phillipians 3:4b-14.
