John 14:1–6 records a conversation on the night of the Last Supper, as Jesus comforts his disciples. Their hearts are heavy with the thought of him leaving, so Jesus steadies them with the promise of his return and the assurance that his going is for their good. We will organize the sermon in two parts. First, we will look at the text itself. Then, we will consider it theologically through the lens of the Nicene Creed.

Here is a great message from the book of John. Hope you have a blessed week!
Todaywe're continuing our study in Ephesians 4:20–24. These powerful verses remindus that we are no longer to walk as the Gentiles walk, or as the lost worldwalks. Paulsays in verse 20, “But ye have not so learned Christ.” Then he goes onto say, “If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, asthe truth is in Jesus” (Ephesians 4:21). My friend, everything changes whentruth is being absorbed into your mind and into your heart. For many years—overfifty years of counseling and talking with people as a pastor—I have observedthat the core problem in most lives is this: people have listened to the liesof the devil. They have listened to the lies and philosophies of the worldwhile trying to figure out what to do about life, about problems, and aboutdifficult decisions. As a result, they make choices based on deception, thinking they are making good decisions when in reality they are being ledastray by a lie. My role as a pastor is to bring people back to the truth ofGod's Word so they can make decisions based on truth. Whatis the truth? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John14:6). The truth is found in God's Word. Jesus also prayed, “Sanctify themthrough thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17). The Word of God is thetruth of God revealed to us—in the person of Jesus Christ and in the Scripturesof the Bible. That is why Paul says, “If indeed ye have heard him, and havebeen taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus.” Have you heard Him? WhenJesus speaks, He calls us by name. In John 10, we are told that the Shepherdknows His sheep and calls them by name. And what is the evidence of thatrelationship? We hear His voice. When He calls us, we follow Him. We are notforced to follow Him—we desire to follow Him. Why? Because we are His sheep, and we belong to His fold. Jesus cares for His sheep. That's why we can trulysay, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). He leadsus in paths of righteousness—that is, paths that are right, paths that pleaseGod, paths that align with the principles and truths of God's Word. Those pathslead to life, and to life more abundantly (John 10:10), a life that isdistinctly different from the world around us. Iget excited when I think about this truth—that we have been taught by Him. Notonly does He speak to us and call us, but He also teaches us. And the truth Heteaches is found in Himself. Then in Ephesians 4:22–24, Paul tells us what thattruth looks like in daily living: “That ye put off concerning the formerconversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; Andbe renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, whichafter God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Throughoutthe New Testament, Paul explains this process in his letters to the churches atEphesus, Colosse, and Rome. In Romans 5 through 8, he teaches us that, becauseof our salvation in Jesus Christ, we now have a new identity. We can livedifferently—because we are different. We have been made new creatures. We have put off the old man. Like Lazarus, we have been raised from the dead. The spiritual death that once consumed us, condemned us, and weighed us downwith guilt no longer has power over us. We were once condemned to eternity in aplace called hell, but now we have been set free. Weare alive in Christ. Because He lives, we live. And because of that, we canlive a different life. Oh, I encourage you today—study these verses carefully. We will come back to this truth of putting off the old man and putting on thenew man in the days ahead. But I trust you will be encouraged today to knowthat you have life in Christ. You learn the truth in Him and from Him. Hespeaks to you. He walks with you. He is your friend, and He desires to walkwith you every day. Today, will you let Him walk with you? That choice is up to you. Godbless!

In a world marked by anxiety, unrest, and brokenness at every level—personal, familial, national, and global—peace feels increasingly elusive. Yet on the night before His crucifixion, Jesus speaks words of comfort and assurance to His troubled disciples, offering something the world cannot give: His peace. In John 14, Jesus addresses fearful hearts with a promise rooted not in circumstances, but in His own nature, His finished work, and the sovereign purposes of God. This message explores the contrast between the fragile, fleeting peace offered by the world and the lasting, supernatural peace found in Christ alone. As Jesus prepares to leave the upper room and walk toward the cross, He bequeaths a gift without which His followers could not endure—a peace secured through His sacrifice, sustained by trust, and guarded by God Himself.Key Verse: John 14:27-31Key Points: 1. The Promise of Peace 2. The Provision of Peace 3. A Prerequisite to Peace 4. The Pursuit of Peace 5. Prohibitors of PeaceThis sermon calls us to consider where true peace is found, how it is received, and what threatens to rob us of it, inviting believers to live under the ruling peace of God that surpasses all understanding.

This passage mentions four blessings we receive from Jesus in His departure. He imparts peace, bolsters faith, exposes the enemy and He demonstrates His love for His Father.
Sermons, December 2025, John, The Spirit of Christmas, Holy Spirit, Indwelling, Pastor Ray Fowler
We live in a world filled with noise, conflict, fear, and distraction. But into that world Jesus came announcing something radical: Peace. Not the fragile, temporary peace the world offers— but peace with God, peace within ourselves, and peace with one another. This week, Pastor Jimmy walks us through Scripture to show how the gospel brings reconciliation with God, how the Holy Spirit forms peace within us, and how believers are called to live peaceably with all.
We have to seek to know what God's Plan and Purpose is for us. I've known almost from birth, from my earliest conscious days, that God had a Plan and a Purpose for my life. And all I've tried to do, all my life, is to be OBEDIENT – to hear the call and to go out and do it. It takes an enormous amount of faith, that's why I seek the Holy Spirit! There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit – but the gift that I asked for above all others is the gift of faith in order to be able to do what God says! In my life, going to Ukraine, going to Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Poland – is only in OBEDIENCE to what God is calling me to do. I am determined, TODAY God will pour out His Holy Spirit on ALL flesh, and ALL who call on the Name of the Lord will be delivered. He has promised, He HAS to do it… This is why I can go to any country where there has been no revival and EXPECT God to fulfil His Promise to pour out His Spirit on whoever, on ALL flesh. 'Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it,' (John 14.12-14, NIV).
Guest speaker Deprii Haggstrom from Saving Grace World Missions brings a message titled “Is There Another Way?” from John 14:1–6, where Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure and offers them peace, hope, and the assurance of a future with Him. Deprii shares his own story of searching for truth before realizing that Jesus is not just an option but the only way to God. He also highlights the reality of the unreached and the urgency of taking the gospel to those who have never heard the name of Jesus. This passage reminds us that Christ is trustworthy, His promises are certain, and He alone leads us into eternal life, calling us to place our faith fully in Him and to make Him known.
CURRENT SERIES - Arrival: A Journey Through the Season of Expectation This Advent, we invite you to pause, reflect, and prepare your heart for the coming of Christ through our series Arrival. In a world marked by uncertainty, division, and constant noise, we yearn for signs that God is still breaking through—still showing up in unexpected ways to make good on ancient promises. Arrival explores the profound truth that God doesn't wait for perfect conditions to enter our lives. Hope arrives in seasons of waiting. Peace arrives amid chaos. Joy arrives independent of our circumstances. Love arrives in the most inhospitable places. And Light arrives to dispel every darkness. Over four weeks, we'll journey through the themes of Advent with fresh eyes, discovering that Christ's arrival isn't just a historical event we commemorate—it's an ongoing reality we can experience today.
What does it mean when we say that Jesus is the Prince of Peace? Today, we look at how Christ accomplished bringing peace and what that means in the life of the believer.
I burn with the Fire of the Holy Spirit. But why do I desire the Spirit so much? When I was a teenager, my father said that it is not just preaching which brings people to repentance. He said you've not yet received the Holy Spirit; he told me, the Bible says Jesus taught His disciples the first lesson in evangelism when He said, “When the Holy Spirit is come, He (not you, David), He, will convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement.” My father said, you need the Holy Spirit. So immediately, sitting on my bed, I asked him to lay his hands on me and pray. But nothing happened. Even though he had received the Holy Spirit himself in the early days, I did not receive this blessing from him. I was now totally obsessed. I went everywhere asking people to pray with me. Nothing. I spent more than a year searching, asking people to pray, no one could help. I started fasting and praying, I KNEW what I wanted. In prayer I was asking the Lord – fill me. Even though I was an ambitious, competitive teenager with my life in front of me, I tried to empty myself of everything, so that when I received, I would be 99 percent Holy Spirit and only 1 percent me, 1 percent myself. The early disciples only waited fifty days after the Resurrection, only ten days after the Ascension. I waited over a year for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. But it was worth it.
“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”
This week in our Advent series, we look at the peace God offers in a world that feels increasingly anxious, hurried, and loud. From Isaiah's promise of “perfect peace” to Jesus' words in the upper room, we're reminded that peace isn't something we achieve—it's Someone we receive. As we fix our minds on the Rock eternal and lean into the presence of Jesus, we discover a peace strong enough to hold us steady in every season.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.To support this ministry and help us continue our God given mission, click here: http://bit.ly/2NZkdrC Support the show
In a world full of noise, confusion, and competing voices, we gather to remember one central truth: our God is not silent. He speaks—clearly, faithfully, and eternally—through His Word. This sermon invites us to behold again the miracle that Scripture is not merely ancient text but the living voice of the living God.Today we look to the beauty of the Word as light in our darkness, truth in our uncertainty, and life in our wandering. Through the ministry of the Spirit, God not only reveals His Word but opens our hearts to see Christ in it, treasure Him through it, and be transformed by it.Key Points: 1. The Illumination of the Word 2. The Inspiration of the WordMay our hearts be soft, our minds attentive, and our souls stirred as we encounter The God Who Speaks.
Where is the Power in the Church? I am concerned that the Church has lost sight of the power and effectiveness of the Pentecost experience. We all need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Christian who wants to be effective in ministry first needs to be filled by the Spirit. The more I study the life of Christ, the more I realise the influence and the Power of the Holy Spirit working in Him, in His life and ministry. Just as the disciples had to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came before they could begin their ministry, so Jesus Himself did not begin His powerful public ministry until after He had received the Holy Spirit! Matt 3.16-17; Mk 1.9-12; Luke 3.21. That same Holy Spirit who was in Christ should be in us! And the Holy Spirit who has begun working in us, will continue until the Day Christ returns!

In this sermon, we look at Jesus' words that reveal what genuine love for Him looks like and how true obedience becomes possible. These two themes—The Evidence of Love and The Power to Obey—show us that following Christ is not something we do in our own strength, but through the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit.Key Points: 1. The Evidence of Love 2. The Power to ObeyThis message calls us to examine our hearts, rest in God's grace, and rely on the Spirit who empowers us to walk in faithful love and obedience to Jesus.

Lessons from the Upper Room in John 14 & 15.
In this sermon, we turn to Jesus' words in John 14 - words spoken to disciples who were overwhelmed, fearful, and unsure about the future. Into that moment, Jesus reveals who He truly is, the authority He carries, and the assurance He offers to all who follow Him. As He calls them to pray in His name, He lifts their eyes from their troubles and fixes their hope on Himself. This message invites us to do the same. When life feels uncertain, when faith feels weak, or when we wonder whether God hears us, Jesus reminds us that everything we need—access, confidence, strength, and hope—is found in Him. His identity steadies us, His power emboldens us, and His promise assures us that our prayers are heard by the Father through His name. Key Points: 1. Jesus' Identity 2. Jesus' Power 3. Jesus' Promise
The Spirit of God indwells genuine followers of Jesus and as a result, a believer's love for Jesus will lead to Spirit-empowered obedience.
