Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue our study of the gospel of John by once again turning to chapter fourteen. In the final ten verses of this great chapter, we read some of the greatest words spoken by the Lord.
Send us a textJesus started out this passage saying let not your heart be troubled and then begins to tell them what all is going to happen. He then tells them that he is leaving and they need not be worried because He will take care of them and He will still be with them in another way. Then He finishes the section by telling them the way He will be with them is by sending the Holy Spirit who will teach them and bring to remembrance all things He said to them. But as they are worrying about all of this still He says my peace I leave you not as the world gives peace and again don't let your heart be troubled. He says He is their peace and that they need not worry and neither should we. He says they should rejoice in the fact that He is leaving and going back to heaven. Plus, He says all of this in advance so that they will know that He knew it was going to happen. Lastly, He lets them know again for the umpteenth time that He does all of this because He is doing the Father's will. Will we trust God no matter how hard it gets and rejoice in what He is doing in our lives through the hard times or let them stress us out? V26 His peace is rooted in His Word, v27 Sourced by His Person(My peace I give to you), different from that the world gives, have peace in spite of trouble, v27 Experienced by faith (Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.) Same as He started the Chapter don't have to let it if you trust Him. Ends the chapter with the same thing. Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en His Love Ministries on Itunes Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. Peace isn't always the absence of chaos—it's the presence of Christ in the chaos. That promise still holds. Especially this week.

Jesus said it Himself, He came to earth not be served, but to serve. And if it weren't for His sacrificial death - an act of service to His Father, we would be destined for hell. As we again look at John fourteen today, we will see that despite the fact that Jesus was about to be put to death, He continues to serve and consort His disciples.

Before we even take our requests to God, we need to ask the important question, “Will this bring glory to God?” If the answer is no, then we can save our breath, and refocus our prayer. That's coming up today on Bridging the Gap, with pastor Lloyd Pulley. Welcome to the broadcast. We are currently studying the gospel of John, and in chapter fourteen Jesus has some important words to share with His disciples - and with us.
Hey friends! Buckle up, because in today's episode, we hear about MAJOR promises from Jesus—and they're the kind that make your heart feel all warm and cozy inside!
Today on Bridging the Gap, we're going to learn an important truth about Jesus Christ. He told his disciples that when they see Him, they're seeing their Heavenly Father! Can you imagine the thoughts that must have crossed their minds? Pastor Lloyd Pulley's study today is based on John fourteen.
Some people spend their entire life looking for "home", a life you build for yourself that's safe and secure. But Jesus wants us to see that instead of making a "home" here, He want's us to follow Him. When we follow "The Way" then we will truly find "Life". Fr. Mike points out the secrecy in Judas' life, and highlights Jesus' words of conviction to the disciples before his death on the cross. He also explains how important it is to bring Jesus into our temptation, and to not hide our hearts from him like Judas did. Today's readings are John 13-15 and Proverbs 6:6-11. Send me a Text Message!Spread throughout John 14-17 (which begins with the words, "you will have trouble") are these amazing prayer promises that center around the word, "whatever" -- like "Whatever you ask for in my name, God will give it to you." Whatever. Whatever you ask. You're probably thinking, "Wait a minute Dan, we've got to be careful how people take a verse like this. It's like we want to protect God's fragile reputation. We don't want people to have unreasonably high hopes in God. And I know, it's not like life was easy with Jesus. Not every ending was happy. There was trouble, hardship. But let me simply tell you, prayer matters to God. If it didn't matter to God, Jesus wouldn't say, "Whatever you ask."
Today pastor Lloyd continues his series in the gospel of John, by taking us to one of the greatest and most significant chapters in God's word - John fourteen. A troubled heart - it's something that afflicts all of us at one time or another. The disciples were troubled as well, when they realized their teacher and friend was about to leave them. Turn to John chapter fourteen and let's draw some comfort from the words of Jesus.

Send me a Text Message! You will have trouble! Jesus made it clear that this is normal. You will have trouble in the world. All kinds of trouble. You're going to go through circumstances that will cause doubt and fear. You will lose friends. The world will hate you and people will persecute you. The enemy of your souls, the prince of this world is coming and there may be opportunities for you to lay down your life for your friends. There's going to be trouble, but listen... We often find trouble just before we get to a breakthrough. Right? It's always darkest before the dawn. Difficult times are a catalyst for spiritual growth. You will have trouble, but...breakthrough is coming!

John 14
Speaker: Pastor Giles LitznerLast week we saw Jesus using imagery of the marriage covenant to describe the kind of relationship we can expect to have with him. Today, we'll see Jesus using the imagery of parenting, family, or adoption to further expand on this relationship. He is reframing how our relationship and identity with God is realized through the Holy Spirit.
