Today, we're diving deep into YouTube. I have always been a fan of YouTube as a public storage location for videos that my clients and students create. But I'm looking at YouTube in a much different light these days. As a search engine, as a place to create relationships, I'm seeing more and more that intentionally spending time to grow your YouTube presence is a smart move. If that's you, if you see the possibility of using YouTube to grow an audience, connect with clients, and grow a stream of income, then you will love my conversation with Erin Busbee. Over the last six years, Erin has grown her YouTube Channel to more than 325 thousand subscribers. Think about that for a moment. 325-thousand. That's a lot of subscribers. And a lot of impact. And a lot of time. There are two things we talked about that I can't stress enough - that we have to be so very focused on our audience, really dialed in, and once you figure out what your audience needs to hear, then you create the systems to make videos that tie into your message. Here's what you'll learn in this episode: *The one question you can ask yourself if you're trying to figure out your next path *What is affiliate marketing? *Erin's content creation process *What you can outsource - and why you should *What YouTube is prioritizing and pushing right now *Four things you should focus on if you're going all in on YouTube right now Here are links mentioned in this episode: *Get Erin's Wardrobe Basics Checklist here *Check out Erin's YouTube Channel here *Want to learn more about the Video Bootcamp? https://youtu.be/nGA0Au3AnY0 You are going to LOVE this interview. I met Karol Clark in person at her business in Newport News, Virginia. She and her husband run a successful surgical weight loss company and we just started talking. You'll see why I had to have her continue the conversation on this show. I'm so impressed by the way she is using her expertise as a registered nurse, as a business owner, as a marketer to help physicians market themselves better. There's a lot of information out there. You know it. But it's rare to find people actually putting that information into practice. This is especially valuable for students in my Video Bootcamp. If you're a student, please listen carefully because you can use what you're learning in the Bootcamp to create the kind of consistency you'll hear Karol talk about. By the way, this is a great place to mention that you can join us for the Video Bootcamp, my 4-week program designed to help you use video more effectively. Click here for more details about our next live session. Here's what you'll learn in this episode: *How to use alternative marketing channels to reach more people *How to use tools available to anyone to create this path *How she developed a marketing department within her own staff *The power of consistency *Karol's exact process to create videos and how she outsources most of the project in order to be able to create more original content *The real benefit of putting yourself out there on video Here are links mentioned in the episode: *Weightlosspracticebuilder.com *Centerforweightlosssuccess.com *Yourbestsellerbook.com *The 5-Day Media Magnet Challenge *The Ultimate DIY Guide To Getting Great Press *My blog posts and podcast episodes on Content Creation *Look at the content creation system I created in Trello. https://youtu.be/0nvWBlvFWtI I'm really excited to share this interview I did with Shaunda Necole. She's a woman I have known for about five years, who started out as the owner of a retail store at the mall. Remember the mall? One of my favorite quotes from our interview is this one: “I found myself evolving with the times.” And her mall days morphed into an online business. Now, she teams up with businesses to promote their products and services to her audience. Does this sound like something you would like to do? Then listen to our conversation, where Shaunda breaks down the steps she takes to get in front of the people who need to hear from her. What you will learn in this episode: *How one online contest changed her entrepreneurial path *The time & effort it REALLY takes to grow a following online *The one thing people don't respect that is critical to creating relationships in the digital world *The power of offline & online groups to grow your business *Why NOW is THE very best time to be an online influencer Links mentioned in this episode: *Shaunda Necole's Website and Ultimate Business Checklist *The 5-Day Media Magnet Challenge *The Ultimate DIY Guide To Getting Great Press *My blog posts and podcast episodes on Content Creation *Look at the content creation system I created in Trello. I believe in the power of content. It creates connection between you and the people who may want to work with you. It gives prospective clients a way to check you out and see how you think before they pick up the phone to call you or walk into your office. It gives you the chance to clarify your message and make it simpler to understand, either in a blog, in a podcast or on video. But does this mean you'll have to create content all the time? No. Today, we're talking about how to repurpose your content. What you will learn in this episode: *The reasons why you would want to repurpose your content *The multi-step process I use to take content I have already created and breathe new life into it *Why it's important to isolate your most popular posts and create ways to continually promote them Links mentioned in this episode: *The 5-Day Media Magnet Challenge *The Ultimate DIY Guide To Getting Great Press *My blog posts and podcast episodes on Content Creation *Look at the content creation system I created in Trello. If you had asked me a few years ago about the benefit of going to a conference, I am not sure what I would have said. I was definitely in a different place, juggling three small kids. I had a workday that started at 4 a.m., I was always running around. As a result, I was always tired. Frankly, I probably wouldn't have thought about taking the time to actually go to one. But things change. I own a business now, for one thing. And no more 2 a.m. alarms. I have changed my mind about the power of live events. I see now how they foster connection, community and creativity. In today's episode, we're talking about a conference coming to Norfolk in April 2019 that may be just what you need. What you will learn in this episode: *How one business owner took education into her own hands *The power of a conference to create real relationships *What social media can do to grow a small business Links mentioned in this episode: *Get tickets to the Social Media Marketing Made Easy Conference April 12-14, 2019 in Norfolk. Content is king, yes. But how do you create it consistently? That's the magic question, isn't it? In this episode, you'll hear how I help clients come up with video ideas in a short amount of time. No writing, no memorizing, no stress. I talk with a lot of business owners who want to start creating videos, but get stumped by many of the aspects of putting them together. What kind of equipment do I need, how do I light it properly, what do I say? So videographer Chris Lane and I teamed up to create a video package that gives people the chance to come to a studio location, be interviewed by me and then receive edited videos they can use for their website or social media. I have found that when people are interviewed, when you ask them questions about their businesses and what they are passionate about, they open up, they are less nervous and they can very easily come up with video topic ideas during the course of our conversation. What you'll hear is an on air coaching session I did with Chris to help him come up with ideas for his next series of videos he will release to his audience. Chris is like many of us, lots of ideas, not enough time focused on making those ideas happen. He's really busy doing things that make money in his business. And these videos, naturally, take a backseat. Does that sound familiar? Listen as I am help him focus on how he helps his clients. The cameras are rolling, I'm grilling him with questions. And I want him to boil down his ideas to create videos that are short and impactful. What you'll learn in this episode: *How to come up with a number of video topics in a short amount of time *How to put together video shoots for maximum effect *How to put together ideas that will attract clients Links mentioned in this episode: *CherylTanMedia.com/Podcast *Should You Hire A Professional Videographer? *Click to join the STANDOUT with Cheryl Tan community *My Video Resources page *Sign up for my newsletter and get access to the STANDOUT Facebook community here (and get the 5-Day Media Magnet Challenge) Did you enjoy the show?
