Because a brand that simply looks polished is very different from a brand world designed to strengthen trust, recognition, authority and sales. This conversation explores why the branding process behind meaningful transformation cannot begin with trends, random inspiration or surface-level aesthetics. Instead, it needs to be rooted in positioning, perception, emotional resonance and long-term brand equity.Tune in to hear:Why beautiful branding is not always strategic branding. How positioning, perception and client experience shape the entire creative direction. Why this process is designed to build a brand world, not just a visual identity. What strategic branding changes in the way your business is experienced and remembered.Find the Complete Show Notes Here → https://sigmawmn.com/podcastIn This Episode, You'll Learn:The difference between aesthetic branding and strategic brand transformation. Why surface-level visuals do not create the same trust and authority as strategic positioning. How a complete brand world supports stronger recognition, client experience and expansion. Why less decision-making can often lead to a better and more effective branding outcome.Themes & Time Stamps:0:03 - Introduction: What Makes This Branding System Different0:22 - Branding That Changes How Your Business Functions and Is Perceived0:56 - 7+ Years Supporting Women in Business: Why These Offers Exist1:39 - How the Strategic Brand System Was Born (Client + Personal Experience)2:26 - Why Most Brand Designers Don't Think About Your Business3:23 - Beautiful Branding vs. Strategic Branding4:14 - How to Connect With a Higher-Calibre, More Invested Client5:30 - The Rule: Only Pay for What You'll Actually Use Every Day5:54 - Why Mood Boards and Logo Pages Won't Move Your Business Forward7:05 - Website, Flodesk, Social Templates & Link-in-Bio: All in the Package7:59 - Why We Help You Find and Vet Your Brand Photographer8:13 - The Art Direction Guide No Other Brand Designer Includes9:44 - Why We Don't Do Zoom Calls (And What Happened When I Paid $9K for a Logo)10:59 - Production Scheduling Experience You Won't Find in Other Studios11:11 - Real-World Deadline Accountability — What It Actually Means for You13:32 - A Done-for-You Brand World, Not Just a Visual Identity13:47 - Go Live the Week After: TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest & Emails Ready14:18 - Been Burnt Before? Michael interviews Stephen Logue, an economist and former FMCG marketer who became marketing director at Berni Inns, founded a research-led consultancy, and later owned restaurants.Logue explains how market research identified five consistent drivers of restaurant success—cleanliness, service, atmosphere, food quality, and value for money—and how redesigning and standardizing Berni Inns (including work with Conran) lifted sales and won a Catey. He argues hospitality underinvests in service, emphasizing “hire character, train skills,” building staff confidence and self-belief, and using tools like mystery visits and customer research. He shares “runners and riders” concept testing, a successful Greek concept at Meadowhall, lessons from Wetherspoon's standards and value focus, and the financial importance of repeat customers. Logue now supports independents via pro bono work and promotes simple cost control, menu margin analysis, and clear service promises.Connect with Stephen Logue:https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephen-logue-47227757/https://www.hospitalityblueprints.com/https://youtu.be/2_E_EBbdXpU?si=_0cECaQouijt_8LShttps://www.hospitalityblueprints.com/masterclass-videosBook:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Magic-Malls-Incredible-Customer-Service/dp/1910090638/ref=sr_1_3?crid=GEM2XLEJMP0P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.lw06nq8ML3KTk_rhrQVeIK8X9HSz5KW3t9INoXg7iSTGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.bEQQL7nAGqgyohrPiRxbrwgf3N_jm-_O3tqE8QOnVBw&dib_tag=se&keywords=Stephen+Logue&qid=1780948637&sprefix=stephen+logue%2Caps%2C232&sr=8-3Connect with the podcastJoin the Hospitality Mavericks newsletterTune in via your favourite podcast platform - here More episodes for you to check out here A big thank you to our episode sponsor Monotree. They help hospitality operators strengthen operations and scale company culture by creating a "Branded Front Door" for your workforce.Head to their website to sign up.This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podcorn - https://podcorn.com/privacy
Daniel came over from Norway for his first INS race and left with wins in both 2WD and 4WD Mod after a brutal weekend on one of the toughest carpet tracks we have seen. The RC One layout had concrete walls, a tricky quad jump, changing track conditions, and plenty of carnage, but Daniel managed the chaos and came out on top. In this episode, we talk about his wins, the battle with Tater Sontag, Brennan Schimmel's speed, the Schumacher team effort, European vs American track styles, and what makes RC One such a unique challenge. Huge thanks to Daniel for coming on and sharing his thoughts after a massive weekend for him and the Schumacher team. Can Daniel carry this momentum into Round #3? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️
[Special Release: This episode is being released simultaneously on the main feed and Patreon for immediacy.] BREAKING NEWS: The Future of Doctor Who Takes a Dramatic Turn Just hours before recording, the BBC made a major announcement that affects Doctor Who's direction for years to come. RTD and Bad Wolf are parting ways with the BBC. The Christmas special is canceled. New production arrangements are being sought. John and Jim process what this means for fandom, for the show's creative identity, and for the possibility of a true fresh start. One host sees this as inevitable reckoning; the other worries about what gets lost in transition. Both discuss how long the darkness might last—and whether that's actually a bad thing. Season 25: Taking Stock of Four Stories After racing through Remembrance of the Daleks, Silver Nemesis, Happiness Patrol, and The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, Jim and John pause to rank what they've just watched. Best episode? That's clear. Worst episode? They disagree—and don't let ratings alone settle it. Best villain, best companion, best guest star, best monster, funniest moment, best overall moment—each category sparks different reactions. What makes a story work, even when individual elements fail? When does spectacle overwhelm character? Why does one host adore a story the other found painful? Nemesis of the Daleks: The First Dalek Comic in Ages A four-part comic strip featuring the Doctor's oldest enemies—and a character that may or may not have survived. The art improves significantly from recent strips. The scope feels genuinely cinematic with the Dalek Death Wheel. But here's the question: did the ending rush a story that deserved more room to breathe? John appreciates the scale; Jim wishes the narrative had time to match it. Both wonder if this Dalek adversary will return. Music & Memory TARDIS "The Psychic Circus" by Christopher Guard (who played Bellboy) is a curiosity—an actual song written specifically about an episode, not the show itself. Peter Davison's final story, "The Caves of Androzani," offers stunning supporting characters and a presidency subplot that overshadows the main narrative. One host loves it unreservedly; the other would only revisit select scenes. What Doctor Who Needs Now With RTD out and the show facing a complete reset, Jim and John discuss what a new showrunner should do. Forget continuity complications? Embrace them? How long should the silence last? Should the next Doctor arrive on screen with no explanation, like Eccleston did? Can a complete reboot work? Should there even be a TARDIS anymore? These aren't answered so much as explored—and the conversation suggests the wilderness years ahead might be exactly what the franchise needs. Flight nurse Claire Barnett joins host Jana Price on Nurse Converse to share one of the most intense survival stories in flight nursing.Claire is a quadruple board-certified emergency nurse and the chief flight nurse for an international medevac company. About a year and a half ago, she and her trainee partner accepted a flight to pick up a young man with possible hantavirus. The plan was solid. The weather looked manageable. Then everything changed.Fifteen minutes into the flight, the storm closed in behind them. The pilot was forced to land in the middle of nowhere as a blizzard rolled over them. With a critically ill patient, limited oxygen, no cell service, and search and rescue unable to reach them, Claire had to make decisions that went against every protocol she had been trained on — including giving Ativan to slow her patient's breathing and save what little oxygen they had left. This episode is about more than survival. It's about what flight nurses face every shift, the weight of being someone's only hope, and the six Navajo search and rescue heroes who spent five hours building a road to reach them. The Crusades reshaped Europe far beyond Jerusalem — and we've forgotten itFor most people, the Crusades begin and end with Jerusalem, Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. But that narrow view hides a far bigger story. In this episode of History Rage, medieval archaeologist Professor Aleks Pluskowski takes aim at the myth that crusading was confined to the eastern Mediterranean — and reveals how crusades transformed northern and eastern Europe in ways that still shape the modern worldDrawing on decades of archaeological research and historical evidence, Aleks explains how the Baltic Crusades were longer, more successful, and ultimately more influential than those in the Levant. From the rise of the Teutonic Order to the foundation of cities like Riga and Tallinn, this conversation exposes a forgotten chapter of European history that fundamentally reshaped societies, borders and identitiesYou'll hear why crusading was a papally authorised penitential war, how it expanded beyond Jerusalem to target pagans, heretics and political enemies, and why northern Europe became the Crusades' most enduring battlefield. Aleks also unpacks the diversity of pre-Christian belief systems in the Baltic, the realities of conquest and settlement, and how crusading ideology became a template for later colonialism and modern nationalist mythsThe episode also tackles how the Teutonic Order evolved from a humble hospital in Acre into a powerful military state, why it succeeded where the Levantine Crusader states failed, and how its image was later distorted by 19th-century nationalism and Nazi propaganda. This is not just military history — it's a story about how Europe learned to dominate, govern and remember its pastIf you think you know the Crusades, this episode will make you rethink everything.Guest: Professor Aleks PluskowskiProfessor of Medieval Archaeology, University of ReadingAleks Pluskowski is a leading authority on crusading in northern Europe, with extensive fieldwork experience across Poland and the Baltic region. In this episode, Michael speaks with chef Sam Jett about building restaurants that serve communities, people, and the planet.Sam shares how he shifted from a planned healthcare path into cooking, credits McDonald's for teaching standards and systems, and recounts formative time in Copenhagen kitchens including Relæ and Noma. After years as Sean Brock's right-hand leader across multiple brands, Sam took over Audrey and refocused it on Appalachian heritage: removing luxury imported ingredients, tightening sourcing “guardrails,” and adopting a zero-waste mindset. He describes a network of about 26 regional farms/producers supplying roughly 95% of the menu and a CSA-style budgeting approach where farmers send what they choose, including imperfect crops that the team transforms using the restaurant's lab.Sam explains making the economics work through circular “mini-ecosystems” and multiple revenue streams, and emphasizes relationships and trust as the core leadership principle.Connect with Sam:https://www.instagram.com/samuel.jett/?hl=enhttps://www.audreynashville.com/Connect with the podcastJoin the Hospitality Mavericks newsletterTune in via your favourite podcast platform - here More episodes for you to check out here A big thank you to our episode sponsor Monotree. They help hospitality operators strengthen operations and scale company culture by creating a "Branded Front Door" for your workforce.Head to their website to sign up.This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podcorn - https://podcorn.com/privacy

In this episode, Dave and Amanda pick up where they left off and walk through the long road of recovery: a year of home dialysis, a kidney transplant from a stranger named Matt who has now become family, getting married in the ICU after 16 years together, and what life looks like on the other side of it all.Jump Ahead: 00:38 — Welcome back and recap of part 103:40 — Dave's decision to fight: "We can't be angry"08:05 — The power of hope and small acts from staff11:21 — A nurse-patient's plea: talk to your sedated patients12:45 — What separates new nurses from experienced ones15:20 — A year of home dialysis: "Dialysis keeps you alive, but it's no way to live"17:18 — Amanda's stress and the first 911 call from home17:51 — Finding humor and independence on a tricycle with a bell21:11 — The phone call: a donor named Matt23:13 — Choosing to know your donor — Matt becomes family25:56 — Married in the ICU after 16 years together28:02 — The documentary "D-Rep" and the milk-jug fuel system30:37 — A 2014 helicopter built to 1965 safety standards32:19 — Why military helicopters got safer after Vietnam but civilian ones didn't34:00 — Two federal laws in five years thanks to advocacy35:52 — "Dave was the least physically injured from the crash"37:57 — A company's staff who refused to fly without crash-resistant fuel systems40:03 — 85% of the non-military fleet had no crash-resistant fuel systems at the time of the crash41:23 — Life today: running a community ice rink in Colorado42:23 — Continued advocacy and burn survivor support44:32 — Closing thanks and where to find resourcesThey also share the advocacy work that came out of the crash. Dave's helicopter was brand new, but its fuel system was built to 1965 safety standards. The same fuel system has been described as no stronger than a milk jug. Together with the pilot's widow Karen, Dave and Amanda helped push two pieces of federal legislation through Congress to require crash-resistant fuel systems on newly manufactured helicopters. A medic recently texted them after walking away from a crash because of the very system they fought for. This is a conversation about hope, advocacy, and what it really means to make good come out of tragedy. This week on the podcast, we're diving into a concept you've probably seen everywhere lately: glimmers. Recently identified by trend forecasters as one of the defining wellbeing trends for 2026, glimmers - the opposite of triggers - are tiny moments that spark feelings of safety, joy, calm, or connection. At a time when wellness can often feel overwhelming, expensive, or performative, glimmers offer something beautifully simple: the ability to find nourishment in what's already around us. To explore this idea, we're joined by two women who have quite literally written the book on it — sisters Nadia Narain and Katia Narain Phillips, authors of Glimmers: Tiny Moments to Transform Your Life.Nadia and Katia have spent decades exploring healing, self-care, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellbeing.Together they are also the bestselling authors of Self-Care for the Real World and Rituals for Every Day.In this conversation, we discuss:What glimmers actually are and why they matterHow noticing small positive moments can support nervous system regulationThe science behind glimmers and brain rewiringWhy this practice resonates so deeply right nowThe connection between glimmers, trauma healing, and mental healthSimple ways to begin noticing glimmers in everyday lifePersonal glimmers Nadia and Katia have experienced recentlyAnd the self-care practices they turn to themselvesThis is a warm, grounding and hopeful conversation about finding beauty, safety and connection in the smallest moments and why those moments may be more powerful than we realise.Come see us hosting in the Menopause tent at the Everywoman Festival on June 13th https://www.everywomanfest.com/tickets-londonBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/self-care-club--6942824/support.Get in touch & come follow us on:Instagram Tiktok thttps://www.tiktok.com/@40ish.podcastJoin our private Facebook groupOrder our book hereBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/40ish-navigating-midlife-and-perimenopause--6942825/support?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rssStudio production by @launchpodstudiosMusic by purpleplanet.

In this episode, Michael interviews Alexander Kjerulf, a former tech entrepreneur who founded a company in 2003 focused on happiness at work and has delivered talks and workshops in over 50 countries for clients including Microsoft, IKEA, IBM, Hilton, and Shell. They discuss research linking workplace happiness to higher productivity, creativity, retention, lower absenteeism, and stronger company results including profitability, growth, employer brand, and stock performance, alongside an ethical responsibility for leaders.A central theme is improving customer experience by putting employees first and rejecting “the customer is always right,” which can betray staff and reward abusive customers; examples include a hotel manager enforcing rules, Southwest Airlines “we will miss you” letter, and buying a rude passenger a competitor ticket.Practical practices include training and culture immersion (Zappos), celebrating great service stories, giving frontline autonomy (Nordstrom, Middelfart Sparekasse), measuring care over efficiency, hiring carefully, and using weekly feedback tools like Heartcount.Connect with Alexander:https://www.linkedin.com/in/chiefhappinessofficer/https://positivesharing.com/2006/07/why-the-customer-is-always-right-results-in-bad-customer-service/https://woohooinc.com/https://heartcount.com/Books:Everybody Matters - Bob Chapmanhttps://uk.bookshop.org/a/8596/9780241975411Hug your customers - Jack Mitchellhttps://uk.bookshop.org/a/8596/9781401398040Hug your people - Jack Mitchellhttps://uk.bookshop.org/a/8596/9780553820089Connect with the podcastJoin the Hospitality Mavericks newsletterTune in via your favourite podcast platform - here More episodes for you to check out here A big thank you to our episode sponsor Monotree. They help hospitality operators strengthen operations and scale company culture by creating a "Branded Front Door" for your workforce.Head to their website to sign up.This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podcorn - https://podcorn.com/privacy

Happy Mother's Day! Today I'm sharing a recipe with a special ingredient that both my mom and I love. And I'm also announcing something that is, honestly, a bit of real self-care for me this Mother's Day: I'm taking a recording hiatus for the next few months. I won't be recording new episodes during that time, but don't worry. There will still be an episode from the archives in your Recipe of the Day podcast feed every single day, seven days a week, while I'm gone. Thank you so much for listening over the past 4.5 years. In that time, I've recorded more than 1,570 episodes, and I've truly loved cooking along with you. I'm taking a few months to recharge, and then I'll be back in your kitchen and in your headphones again soon. Thanks for listening! This week on 40ish Lauren reaches peak midlife as she attends an wholesome Ottolenghi Cooking Club; yet somehow gets embroiled in a conversation about anal s*x within 3 minutes of arrival. Meanwhile Nicole realises that you know when you're spending too much time with your gyne when he feels fully comfortable eating crisps off your plate. In midlife news it turns out almost half of middle-aged Brits are still traumatised by school PE - not surprising if you remember being asked to climb that rope in a pair of big navy pants. We hear from listeners navigating menopause in toxic workplaces, sharing the very real fear of education being weaponised, but also why the conversation still has to happen. Today's dilemma asks: Is it actually possible to lose weight in your 40s? Despite doing “all the right things” (gym, PT, food), social media is screaming that unless you buy a miracle pill, it's game over. Our decluttering journeys are all unique and we all have different starting points. And this week, I want to acknowledge the role privilege can play in making things easier to let go of. But also, how much more vital decluttering becomes when you have less resources so you can create that ease for yourself.•••Love the show? Two Alabama nurses saw a glaring gap in care and decided not to ignore it. Hosted by Jana Price, this episode of Nurse Converse features Shannon Krebs and Marcina Doze as they share how they built a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program from the ground up in a fast-growing community with zero prior access. They walk through the real-world barriers, from funding challenges to training and emotional toll, and explain how collaboration with hospitals, law enforcement, and community leaders made it possible. Beyond logistics, this conversation highlights the human impact, showing how access to compassionate, timely care can change outcomes for survivors. It's a practical and deeply personal look at advocacy, resilience, and what it takes to create meaningful change in healthcare. Ten years, two businesses, and a thousand moments where I smiled when I should have held the line.In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on a decade of running the Sisters Enchanted and the witch wound that slowly cost me more time, energy, and money than anything else in my business. We're talking about confrontation avoidance, space-filling, and peacekeeping at the expense of your own power. And why - if you're a woman who over-explains, over-smiles, and bends yourself into a pretzel so nobody feels bad - this might be your witch wound too. What Is the Witch Wound? The witch wound is the ancestral and personal pattern of fear that keeps women small. The fear of being seen, fear of speaking up, and fear of confrontation. It shows up in the body, in relationships, and in how we trust ourselves. And...it has very real costs. In this episode, I share:-How Sisters Enchanted started (the messy, non-linear origin story)-The two specific witch wounds I've been healing for 10 years-Why confrontation avoidance is one of the most expensive patterns a woman can carry-The "filling space" habit that keeps you managing everyone else's emotions instead of your own-How choice and agency can dissolve resentment and change your trajectoryIs This Your Witch Wound?➡️ Do you over-explain yourself after setting a boundary?➡️ Do you smile and laugh things off when you're actually frustrated?➡️ Do you fill silence with validation and softening even when you were clear?➡️ Do you avoid conflict to keep the peace, and then silently pay for it?If yes...this episode is for you.Key Takeaways:✨ Starting before you're ready opens doors that perfectionism keeps closed✨ Confrontation avoidance has real financial and energetic costs✨ You don't have to fill every silence ✨ Everybody has choice and agency - their reaction is not your responsibility to manage✨ The witch wound shows up quietly in the smile, the over-explanation, and the joke you make when you want to hold the groundWant to go deeper on the witch wound?
In this episode of Candidly with Coffee, we talk about the shift that's happening right now. Where the real status symbol is no longer something you can purchase… it's something you have to earn.Your physique. Your energy. Your discipline. Your confidence.Because while anyone can finance a luxury car or buy a designer bag, not everyone is willing to put in the daily work it takes to build a strong, healthy body and show up as their best self. We also break down the difference between being thin vs actually being fit, why a strong physique carries a different kind of presence, and how investing in yourself changes how you move through the world. What you'll learn:• Why material things no longer hold the same status they used to• The difference between being thin and being truly fit• Why a strong physique creates a different kind of confidence and energy• How people overcompensate with material things when they lack confidence• Why you can't shortcut or buy your way into real self-respect• How investing in your health changes everything — from how you look to how you show up#selfimprovement #mindsetshift #fitnessmotivation #healthover40 #midlifewomen #candidlywithcoffee #podcastJoin this channel to get access to perks:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_8nonbBsA-mTli1KLlHlrA/joinWork with Jeaninehttps://www.jeanineescobar.comMike's YouTube Channel: @escoelitemindsetMike's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/@escoelitemindsetSupport our Sponsors1UP Nutrition Code: JEANINEhttps://www.1upnutrition.com /discount/jeanineMegaFit Meals - Code Jeanine https://megafitmeals.rfrl.co/p75q7Built Bar Code: MRSCEOJhttps://builtbar.com?baapp=MRSCEOJSupport us by following on Social MediaAmazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com/shop/mrsceo_jLTK Fashion Links: https://www.shopLTK.com/explore/MrsCEO_JInstagram: https://instagram.com/mrsceo_jInstagram: https://instagram.com/candidly_withcoffeeWeight Loss IG: https://instagram.com/@jsbodybootcampTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mrsceo_j
