This is the Double Turn Podcast. We are a couple of dudes from Arizona who love Pro Wrestling and we want to share our enthusiasm with all fellow pro-wrestling fans. We will talk about WWE as well the indies and we hope you will join us on this kick-ass adventure. Welcome to the Double Turn presented by Wobam Entertainment.
Hello everyone! As the title suggests, this will be the final episode of TDT. After 220 episodes, it's time to call it. For the last 5 and a half years, it was our pleasure to come on this podcast and talk pro-wrestling and fully mark out over everything that is great about it. We have done some incredible things that we will forever cherish. In this final episode, J-Man and guest co-host the Thunderous Wizard discuss the iconic main events that occurred at Wrestlemania 40 and reminisce over some of the fun things that TDT was able to for the past 5 and a half years. We are grateful for all the support, the Twitter page will still be up to follow wrestling so you can find us on TDTwrestlingpod. The honor and privilege was ours. For the last time, on behalf of Boss Ross, TDubs and every guest we have had on the Double Turn Podcast, my name is the J-Man and you have been listening to the Double Turn Podcast....we will catch you on the flip side.
This week, we review the 2 night extravaganza.....Wrestlemania 39! I am joined by my guest this week, Bling Blake from Hops and Box Office Flops. We discuss what our favorite night was, the set, what got him back into wrestling and more. It was a great chat. As always, please check out Hops and BO Flops, our sister podcast and they are available on most audio streaming platforms.
Hello everyone and welcome back to TDT! We are back for the first time in 2023. Apologies for the delay in programming. On this week's episode, the J-Man and guest The Thunderous Wizard go over AEW Revolution, the two excellent stories that have taken over AEW programming and of course.....we are on the road to Wrestlemania. Plus, there is a certain elephant in the room that TDubs and I need to discuss. It feels good to be back. Please enjoy.
Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to you all! Here is part 2 of our year in review featuring Matt and Jenny LaRusso from WWR. In this episode, we will be breaking down our best matches of 2022. From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and blessed 2023!
Hey guys and welcome back to TDT. This episode we have friends of the podcast Matt and Jenny from Wrestling with Respect. This is part 1 of 2 as we break down 2022 with our performers of the year and shows of the year. I hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas holiday. We will catch you next week to wrap it up with part 2 where we will discuss the best matches of the year.
My apologies for the long hiatus and to be completely honest, I am not sure when we will return more consistently but for now we will return one episode at a time. This week, our good friend Michael Morales Torres from Lucha Libre Online is back and we are talking the return of Bray Wyatt. This episode was recorded a few weeks back so I apologize for the delay in information. Regardless, great conversation between two huge wrestling fans and Michael's thoughts are always appreciated. Enjoy the latest installment of TDT.
Hey everyone, welcome back to TDT. This episode was recorded last week so my apologies for the release schedule getting a little messed up. For this episode, we decided to do a state of the union regarding pro-wrestling now that WWE seems to have gotten a much more positive reaction. I, the J-Man am joined this week by columnist on Bleacher Report and host of the Grapsody Podcast, Phil Lindsey. Please enjoy the newest edition of TDT.
We are back!!!!!! Long hiatus and I apologize. Had to move! But we are back and today's episode is all about the Steph, Trips and Nick Khan takeover. This week I am joined by good friend to the show Matt from WWR and Metal Rock Whiskey, we are ready to play the GAME!
It's the 2022 Double or Nothing review show!!!! It was a big card and it delivered! J-Man and special guest Tom the Thunderous Wizard go over the highs and lows of DoN. Without further ado, let's get to it.
The J-Man is joined by Gerard from Through the Table to preview Double or Nothing. Upon recording of this episode, we were just a few short hours removed from the Uvalde, Texas shooting. We want to dedicate this episode to all of the families involved. May the victims Rest In Peace. As a courtesy, no intro or outdo music was used this week, instead two separate moments of silence were observed.
This week on TDT, I am joined by honorary co-host Tom the Thunderous Wizard from Hops and Box Office Flops as well as Mario Robles from the Fan Boy and Wrestling Fan Boy podcasts. We discuss the Sasha and Naomi walkout fiasco, MJF contact talks and Punk vs Bischoff's twitter beef. To end it, we give you the best AEW feuds in its existence. Very fun episode. Please enjoy.
This week, Tony Mickel from Canned Heat podcast joins the J-Man to discuss Cody's first month back in WWE, Hookhausen being incredible and Wardlow vs MJF's awesome build. Always a pleasure to have Tony on TDT and special thanks to Dellvon Watson for always providing the soundtrack to TDT.
This week on TDT, we are joined by friend to the show good brother Gerard (content creator for Through the Table and Istrongstyle). Gerard is one of the best minds in the community and is a flag bearer in the US for NJPW. This week, we discuss Forbidden Door selling out in less than 40 minutes and what this means for pro-wrestling and in specific AEW and NJPW. Also, Gerard has been one of the influencers who has been very pro NXT 2.0 since the switch and it was about time him and J-Man sat down and had a chat of he views it as better than NXT black and gold and who can be the pillars of WWE to come out of 2.0. Plus we have a hilarious time discussing the thirsty F boys who frequently invade social media the day after Nikita Lyons makes an appearance. All of that and so much more including some Backlash talk and ranking the best Rock returns in honor of his 50th bday. Jam packed and long episode but it's not every day the good brother stops by. Enjoy the newest episode of TDT. 3T and TDT......the Reunion!
This week, Matt and Jenny from Wrestling with Respect join the J-Man to do what we believe to be the hardest job in pro-wrestling...being the head of creative. So in spirit of AEW and NJPW having their massive show in a few weeks time, we thought we'd create the greatest wrestling show involving WWE and AEW performers. Boy howdy did we come up with some excellent cards. Big thanks as always to Matt and Jenny for coming on and being real troopers and huge thanks to Dellvon Watson for providing music to TDT going forward. Enjoy the newest installment of TDT!
Hey yo! This week on TDT, J-Man and the Thunderous Wizard get together to discuss the greatness of the late great Scott Hall. The wrestling world has mourned his death the last month and a half and it was time we dedicated a TDT's Classics Series in his honor. We discuss Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels in a ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 10, the War Games match at Fall Brawl '96 between the NWO and Team WCW and Sting vs Scott Hall at Uncensored 1998 for the WCW championship. Thanks for all the great memories Scott, pro-wrestling won't be the same without you. One more, for the good guy.
On this week's episode, we discuss the reboot episode of WCW in April of 2000. Such an interesting time in the company as both Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff returned to WCW after some time away and brought us a whole new dynamic to their programming. Pushing new talent and removing the established talent to the sidelines. It was car crash tv at it's finest. What did we think of it? We let you know. Plus a big announcement from Boss Ross to end the program.
What an incredible weekend of wrestling we just went through. The Hall of Fame, NXT Takeover Stand and Deliver, and then the main course.....Wrestlemania Saturday and Sunday! What were our favorite moments, matches and which night was better? All of those questions are answered and more as Boss Ross and J-Man breakdown the 38th installment of the Showcase of the Immortals, right here on TDT. Enjoy!
We have waited 4 months on this long, winding road. People may say they aren't hyped for this weekend, but every gets hyped when the weekend arrives. You know which weekend we are talking about. IT'S WRESTLEMANIA BABY!!!!!!!! 2 Nights, a lot of matches, a lot of hype. Can it deliver? We are not sure but J-Man and Boss Ross breakdown what we expect and want to happen. Will Cody show up? Can Brock and Roman deliver? Will edge and AJ steal the show? Can Ronda and Charlotte make believers out of their haters? Can Bianca make it two years in a row winning a women's title at Mania? How entertaining will Pat McAfee be?! So many questions. Let's get into it, it's the Wrestlemania 38 preview show and it starts right now.
Over the course of the history of professional wrestling, many matches have had massive hype but rarely deliver on them. On today's episode, we discuss some of the biggest blockbuster's of all time that ACTUALLY DID! And could have maybe surpassed them. Boss Ross and J-Man bring you TDT's Classics Series: Hulk Hogan vs The Rock 1 at Mania 18, The Rock vs John Cena 1 at Wrestlemania 28 and John Cena vs Roman Reigns 1 at No Mercy. Choo choo, the hype train has officially left the station. TT starts now!
This week on TDT, Mania updates, Ross talks WCW 2000 before the reboot, and most importantly......Scott Hall. Rest in peace. Hard work pays off, dreams come true, bad times don't last, but bad guys do.
Former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto El Patron AKA Alberto Del Rio is here with the J-Man, on the 200th episode for a very special interview. El Patron needs no introduction. He is a former WWE Champion, World Champion, Impact Champion, AAA Champion, Royal Rumble winner. He has been in the ring with some of the best of all time and he himself is one of the greatest Hispanic pro-wrestlers to ever lace them up. This was truly a special moment for this podcast and we cannot thank Alberto as well as Lucha Libre Online for giving us the opportunity. From the J-Man and Boss Ross, thank you all for the support, and please enjoy this special interview with Alberto El Patron aka Alberto Del Riiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooo!
We made it. The 200th episode of the Double Turn Podcast. Unbelievable. Lots of things have changed, lots of things have stayed the same. The wrestling talk never stops, nor will it. And this week, we are talking Revolution and its aftermath and we are joined by our good brother Tom the Thunderous Wizard from Hops and Box Office Flops. Plus we sprinkle in some Mania news, NXT talk, and the repercussions seen on Dynamite from Revolution. Thank you for your continued support and here is to another 200 episodes!
On this week's episode, we discuss the additions made to Mania as well as the special announcement of Vince McMahon inducting the Undertaker. We also preview the AEW Revolution ppv which we are all very much looking forward to, discuss the major news of Tony Khan purchasing Ring of Honor and do another deep dive into the splendid muck that is WCW in the year of our Lord 2000. Plus stay tuned to the very end as we make a major announcement regarding the Double Turn's 200th episode which will be dropping next Friday.
Fall out from Elimination Chamber, plus more WCW 2000 shenanigans
Ross and J-Man had an understanding of what we were set to discuss on this episode. Then on Tuesday morning, hours before we were set to record, Cody and Brandi Rhodes decided to pull off the swerve of all swerves. Cody and Brandi left All Elite Wrestling, a company they co-founded after 3 years and became the hottest free agents in sports-entertainment. And to top it off, Cody is on the verge of signing back with World Wrestling Entertainment. What dimension are we in? Ross and J-Man break it down as best as they can, discuss whether or not this is a good move for Cody and how this affects Tony Khan and AEW. Plus, there is no party like a Nitro party cause a Nitro party don't stop. J-Man finally gives in and watches one episode of WCW Nitro from 2000. What were his thoughts? Tune in! We are on the road to episode 200, TDT starts now.
This week, Boss Ross and the J-Man bring back TDT's Classics Series! We are talking the 3 greatest Elimination Chamber matches to us of all time. The inaugural match from 2002 directly from the Garden at Survivor Series, the 2005 classic from New Year's Revolution live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan and Kofi's coming out party in 2019 from the EC PPV live from the H-town. These matches all offer something different but each of them has an exceptionally high level of quality story-telling that must be commended. So enjoy the latest installment of TDT's Classics Series as it makes its grand return for the first time since May of 2021.
Boss Ross and the J-Man go over the Rumble. We get into conversations over the DQ finish of Reigns vs Rollins, whether or not WWE could have been more creative with the finish of the men's Rumble, was Ronda winning the right call and what do each of us really want for the Mania main events? All that and much more on this latest installment of TDT.
It's the most wonderful time of the year to be a fan of World Wrestling Entertainment. They may alienate us with their booking, anger us with releases, bore us to death with repetitive programming, but all is forgiven when Rumble season is around. And this year, the possibilities are literally all over the place. For the first time perhaps ever, both men's world championship matches may be even more important than the Rumble itself as we have two world title matches with INSANE implications. The Women's Rumble match has the possibility to shock things to it's very core. You try telling J-Man and Boss Ross to not be excited about this show and you will be met a cutter off a ladder courtesy of Sammy "No F***s Given" Guevara. Also, that name is gonna stick, I guarantee it. The 194th installment of the Double Turn Podcast is here, enjoy!
For the first time in 2022, the band is back together as both Boss Ross and the J-Man are on this episode. We have a great conversation about the differences between main event scenes in WWE and AEW at the moment, the excitement around the Royal Rumble, who we think are the main eventers in AEW, Mox's epic return and Cody obliterating everyone again with his amazing promo. And to cap it off, Ross bores J-Man to death with dual coverage of WCW 2000.
We're back! Welcome to season 4 of TDT! New year, same shenanigans. Talking Day 1, Dynamite's premiere on TBS and because Ross didn't care that he lost the bet, WCW 2000 was discussed. Enjoy!
Boss Ross and J-Man go over the year that was 2021. We talk our top performers of the year, best promos, best PPV's and the best matches that have transpired from WWE, AEW and Impact. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season, and a very Happy New Year. TDT will be back for Season 4 very soon. Cheers everyone!
What a special way to have the penultimate episode of 2021 go down. Hugo Savinovich and Michael Morales Torres from Lucha Libre Online make their return to TDT and this time they're together. We discussed so many things from Jeff Hardy's release, Roman Reigns' run, how AEW surpassed NXT even before AEW began, and awesome stories from Hugo's days back in the Attitude era! This episode was insane! Massive thanks to both Hugo and Michael for taking time out of their night and hanging out with us. Please go check out LLO on Instagram and YouTube as it is one of the best wrestling news sources in the world today. Be on the look out for more from them and more collaborations between the Double Turn and LLO. Please enjoy episode 190.
On this week's installment of TDT, we discuss the 3 biggest things in wrestling, mark out over the amount of excellent wrestling this week, drool over the Punk MJF promos and have a top 5 of the best match/rematch combos in WWE history. TDT starts right now!
We watched Survivor Series, it was....fine. But still a great episode and we hope you enjoy! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a lovely start to your Holiday season. So from us to you: Season's Greetings from TDT. Enjoy our Survivor Series review!
Welcome to a very special episode of the Double Turn and Wrestling with Respect. Yes, it is a double feature. You will also be able to find this respective episode on Matt and Jenny's channel which you absolutely need to go check out. Today, we do a deep dive and comparison of the 4 ladies who forever changed professional wrestling: Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. The 4 Horsewomen have now become ICONS in this business and that is not an exaggeration. From epic matches, to main events all over the world, they changed the way women are viewed in this sector. So it is only right, they get a full episode dedicated to them because they have become 4 of the best of their generation regardless of the gender. Welcome, to the 4 Horsewomen special. Raise a glass of whiskey to 4 of the greatest of all time. Very special thanks to Matt for co-piloting this episode with me. It was a true pleasure!
It's the week before Thanksgiving, Boss Ross has come back, the build up to Survivor Series has been absolutely whack. But we still previewed it because we are wrestling fans you see, welcome to episode 186 of TDT……..To start the show, we give our thoughts on an incredible Full Gear!
Hey what's happening everyone. This week on TDT, we are joined by our guest Tony Church from the Canned Heat podcast as he fills on for Boss Ross who is out with a sore throat. Full gear is this weekend and it was only right to give a full blown preview as it is set to be a stellar PPV. We talk Britt Baker's title run, how Meltzer breaking his ratings system has hurt matches from the past, the epic promo between CM Punk and Eddie Kingston and we ask the question, is Kenny Omega vs "Hangman" Adam Page the biggest match in AEW history? It is a fantastic episode. Please check out Tony's podcast, Canned Heat and enjoy the latest installment of the Double Turn Podcast.
We celebrate the Rock on 25 incredible years of amazing moments! His best promos, classic matches and discuss what he brought to pro-wrestling. Plus, another dark day in McMahonville with another 13 wrestlers plus getting released hours before we went live. TDT is on now
This past week in pro-wrestling has been a doozy. Bound for Glory was great and we saw Moose supplant himself as the face of Impact wrestling. Mandy Rose and Toxic Attraction are the faces of the NXT Women's division. AEW is the most consistent product in pro-wrestling according to one of your hosts, but nothing compares to the beef brewing between two of the top women in pro-wrestling. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair: what in tarnations is happening? We discuss it all on TDT which starts right now.
Boy howdy did we get heated again. Lots of animated discussions regarding several matches on this show! Plus we give our picks on who we believe will win the AEW Eliminator Tournament for a World Title opportunity. Lots of stuff on this show. We are live!
Boss Ross and the J-Man make some crazy picks for this show! A lot is at stake! Tik tok or watching WCW from the year 2000. Plus, always a fantastic time talking about the late, great Eddie Guerrero! TDT starts right now!
Boss Ross and J-Man are back and we are talking about the WWE draft and who we feel won out. We also discuss the major news of Tessa Blanchard and AJ Mendez signing with Jeanie Buss' WOW. Plus a diatribe of whether or not, CM Punk's character is boring and what should he be doing in AEW right now. TDT starts right now.
Add this one to the J-Man liked it and Boss Ross hated it collection. We are talking Extreme Rules and we were opposite sides of the spectrum. We talk about it at length plus discuss what we think will occur in the draft this week. Enjoy.
Hey guys, it's time to get………EXTREME! We talk Extreme Rules plus give insight to our thoughts about AEW Grand Slam on Dynamite and Rampage. And Ross closes the show marking out Impact's Victory Road.
What is happening everyone and welcome back to TDT! In this episode, we discuss Big E's title win, NXT 2.0, and the consistency of AEW. All that plus 3 Count, Triple Threat and Test the Don on the 177th installment of The Double Turn Podcast and it starts......RIGHT NOW!
Title says it all. All Out was historic. Punk's first match in 7 years, Bryan Danielson showed up, Adam Cole joined the Elite, and Ruby Soho was another massive piece added to AEW's re-structuring of their Women's division. Boss Ross and the J-Man have a round table discussion of how the PPV played out including fan boying over the greatness of the Lucha Brothers vs the Young Bucks. And to top it off, we talk the PWI top 10. Check it out now as Ross and J celebrate the 3 years anniversary of the Double Turn Podcast.
What is happening everyone! Welcome back to TDT! In this episode, Boss Ross was unable to make it. However, Tom the Thunderous Wizard from Hops and Box Office Flops does a wonderful job filling in. We give our thoughts on what to expect for All Out and it's respective massiveness, as well as discuss the tremendous one year Universal Title reign from the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Not to mention T Dubs fantasy books Adam Cole's arrival to AEW if he were to sign, how he feels about the upcoming changes to NXT and a whole hell of a lot more. It's an ection packed episode but a good one! Enjoy install 175 of the Double Turn podcast.
Summerslam was insane! Like on a different level of insane! Edge vs Rollins, Cena vs Reigns, Becky came back, Brockie Poo is back! But.....you know what we gotta talk about first. Yes, just like him we are opening the show with him. Punk! Is! Back!!!!!!! LFG! What a week for pro-wrestling!
