This week, Boss Ross and the J-Man bring back TDT's Classics Series! We are talking the 3 greatest Elimination Chamber matches to us of all time. The inaugural match from 2002 directly from the Garden at Survivor Series, the 2005 classic from New Year's Revolution live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan and Kofi's coming out party in 2019 from the EC PPV live from the H-town. These matches all offer something different but each of them has an exceptionally high level of quality story-telling that must be commended. So enjoy the latest installment of TDT's Classics Series as it makes its grand return for the first time since May of 2021.
I speak with author Tom-Butler Bowdon. While Tom was working as a government advisor in Sydney, Australia, he began reading and taking detailed notes on many classic personal growth books in an effort to further his career. He had an idea to organize these notes into a book and worked on this for four years. In 2001, he released 50 Self-Help Classics, which has been translated into 15 languages. Since then, he has distilled the most important ideas from hundreds of other classic books across multiple genres, including psychology, spirituality, and philosophy (my personal favorite). The 50 Classics Series has been immensely valuable to me in understanding the landscape of ideas in a particular field and making complicated philosophical and psychological works more accessible. Tom's mission is simple: more people knowing more. This week, we take a break from our Classics Series and do a big news catch up. On the menu this time around are: Offspring's failed attempt at curbing resale by destroying the AMBUSH x Nike Dunk High boxes and selling the sneakers without them; Nike being granted a trademark for the Air Jordan 1 High, Low, and Low SE to combat bootleggers and fakes; and Virgil Abloh's “The 50” is confirmed and uploaded on Nike SNKRS, giving us our best look yet at the monster collaboration. Additionally, as they do every week, Josh & Fabs talk about their latest pickups and favorite upcoming drops.
Fabs and Josh dive deep into the world of New Balance, taking a look at two of the New England brand's most iconic sneakers: the 990 series and the 574. In addition, the boys debate the upcoming Union LA x Nike Air Jordan 4s and discuss what drops they're looking forward to in the coming weeks.
Trips vs Big Dave......man do these two have some classics. And we are talking about them in this week's edition of TDT's Classics Series. We go over Wrestlemania 21, Backlash 2005 and their iconic Hell in a Cell match at Vengeance. Also quick programming note, the J-man will be on hiatus after this episode for a while. I just want to say thank you to everyone for supporting this outstanding show and I look forward to coming back very soon. For now, I'll catch all of you on the flip side.
Following last week's crash course on iconic adidas sneakers, Fabs and Josh take a look at two of Nike's most classic sneakers. Fabs walks us through the Nike Air Tailwind from 1979, Nike's first-ever Air-equipped sneaker, while Josh runs through the Nike Dunk's glory-filled history. We also talk about our latest pickups (spoiler alert: Josh has got his hands on some heaters again) as well as Nike's obsession with three-way collaborations. To finish things off, we take a look at what's dropping soon.
In this week's episode, Fabs and Josh launch a new mini-series called “The Classics.” Kicking things off, we take a look at two of adidas' most timeless models: the Stan Smith and the Forum Low. Josh tackles the Forum, diving deep into the '80s, while Fabs takes a look at why the Stan Smith became the fashion icon it is today. In addition, we go through our latest pickups as well as what sneakers we're looking forward to copping in the coming weeks.
After a tumble down the rabbit hole, Alice finds herself far away from home in the absurd world of Wonderland. As mind-bending as it is delightful, Lewis Carroll’s 1865 novel is pure magic for young and old alike. Read Along! I've missed you all so much! Sorry for my extended absence. Between life, work, school, barking dogs & simply needing a break from the language of Lord of the Rings, I had to take a step back and reassess my podcast. I believe I now have a good plan of attack and hope to get back into a schedule for reading on here. I needed to get away from Lord of the Rings, the length of the chapters and the names and high demand vocabulary were starting to make this feel more like a chore than a fun things I'm doing for my students. So I've decided to take a break from Fellowship of the Rings and begin a Classics Series. What that will entail is a series of classic novels being read on here, one at a time. We'll begin with a short and simple yet timeless class, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/skanzler/support
What's up everyone. On this installment, we bring back TDT's Classics Series and take it upon us to honor a very special trilogy. On 4/1/2021, it was the 20th anniversary of the Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event of Wrestlemania X-7 in Houston at the Astrodome. 68,000 strong going nucking futs, it is truly one of the greatest spectacles in Sports-Entertainment history. But as always, when you discuss the main of Mania X-7, you have to talk the greatness that is their other 2 Wrestlemania classics. How many performers can you legitimately think that have had a trilogy of matches at Wrestlemania and once you answer that question, how many can you think of that were this damn good?! Now, granted Boss Ross and J-Man did have some nit-picking regarding all three but that is our job. That does not take away from the fact that Stone Cold and the Rock will forever be linked and that their feud will stand the test of time. So please enjoy this special TDT's Classics Series on Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock, the Mania trilogy: Wrestlemania 15, X-7 and 19. Oh Hell Yeah......I smell something, oh the Rock must be cooking.

It's a banger, plus we discuss some of the major things that happened this week including the passing of a Legend. RIP Pat Patterson. TDT starts right now.
