This podcast we look at the service men and women that are to be honored on Memorial day. There were over 40 military servicemen on board the RMS Titanic in 1912. We look at 3 examples, and have the pleasure of presenting the National Anthem, preformed by the Choral Ensemble from Seymour High School in Sevier county, TN.

The Addergoole Parish had fourteen represented on Titanic, making their way to America and a new life. Only 3 would arrive safely in New York.
The Titanic had an Irish heart! She was built in Belfast, Northern Ireland by over 14,000 Irishmen. It took them 3 years to build her, and in 5 days she was gone. There were 187 Irish passengers on board as well, and only 54 would see America. The use of flares and flags were the main communication methods, but all of that changed with the introduction of an Irish- Italian man named Gulielmo Marconi and his revolutionary wireless invention. Titanic was equipped with a Marconi machine, and two wireless operators. Hear how junior wireless operator, Harold Bride, recalls the night of the sinking in a letter he sent to the Marconi company after the disaster.
