Laura Magdalene Eisenhower is the Great Granddaughter of President Dwight ‘Ike' Eisenhower, and in her first book, Awakening the Truth Frequency, she sets out to clarify the role he played in secret agreements reached with a breakaway Nazi colony in Antarctica and later agreements with extraterrestrials. According to Eisenhower, Ike, was overruled by the MJ-12 Special Studies Group, which had been set up under President Truman to manage the extraterrestrial presence. She cites historical events that support the claim that an agreement amounting to a surrender of some kind had been reached soon after the Washington DC flyovers in July 1952 by Nazi antigravity spacecraft flying out from Antarctica. In subsequent encounters with extraterrestrial visitors, after he assumed the Presidency in January 1953, she asserts that Ike's hands had been tied by the earlier agreements the MJ-12 Group had reached with the Germans during the Truman administration. In her book, Eisenhower asserts that in response to the dire ‘exopolitical' situation, Ike created a ‘Special Section' within the US Marine Corps, that would be responsible for intervening to protect the US Republic if the agreements with the Germans and extraterrestrials went awry. In her Exopolitics Today interview, she responds to critical questions about different factions of human-looking ‘Nordic' extraterrestrials the Galactic Federation of Worlds in terms of them either being compromised through their collaboration with the Nazis or helping the US Navy help transition humanity to a Star Trek Future, and the nature of ‘the surrender' that had been achieved during the Truman administration. Finally, Eisenhower explains what lies ahead for humanity in terms of a timeline split as our planet transitions from 3D (Earth) to 5D (Tara) and finally to 7D (Gaia). In this special Black History Month episode, Taniqua speaks with Linda Ann Dixon about the legacy of her great grandmother Ann Lowe.
In the mid-1800s, an enslaved man named Dred Scott sued for his freedom in St. Louis. Scott's yearslong legal battle culminated in an infamous U.S. Supreme Court ruling that helped push the country closer to civil war. Today, Dred Scott and his wife, Harriett Scott, are celebrated, and there's a new monument that befits that legacy in Calvary Cemetery in north St. Louis. STLPR's Marissanne Lewis-Thompson talked with the Scotts' great-great-granddaughter Lynne Jackson about that legacy in front of the newly erected monument.

Racism has been a tragic aspect of our nation's history. But did you know that the Book of Mormon considers dark skin to be a curse? In the Book of Mormon, sections such as Mormon 5:15; 1 Nephi 12:23; 2 Nephi 5:21-22; Alma 3:6; and 2 Nephi 30:6, are clear in what they teach. Dark skin is "loathsome" whereas white or light-skin is "delightsome" and a sign of God's favor. The 1830 version of the Book of Mormon used to read "white and delightsome" (a curious explanation from the LDS Church) but modern versions now say "pure and delightsome." Up until 1978, blacks were not allowed to enter LDS temples or be ordained to the LDS priesthood. But what is the current position of the LDS Church today about racism and dark skin? Is dark skin still a curse? On part three of our discussion with former Mormon and the great-great granddaughter of Brigham Young, the church's second President and Prophet, James Walker discusses the difficult issue of racism and dark skin in LDS doctrines and what it means for the church today. We will also be featuring a question-and-answer session with our missionary team on this episode you won't want to miss. In the Book of Mormon, Moroni chapter ten verse 32 says "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ..." The words sound familiar, but do Moroni's references to "grace" and "Christ" really speak of the same grace and of the same Christ found in the New Testament? No. Note that Moroni says God's grace is only sufficient if you deny yourself of all ungodliness first. But how is that to be done? According to Romans 7, not even the Apostle Paul could do that! But according to Moroni, you must deny yourself of all ungodliness before Christ bestows sufficent grace upon you. Then and only then does God's grace "kick in." The second book of Nephi, chapter 25, verse 23 says for example that "it is by grace we are saved" however grace comes only "after all we can do." Clearly this is not in accordance with what the New Testament teaches. It is indeed by grace we are saved, but not by works of our own. We can't simply do stuff in church to make ourselves right with God. We cannot earn our salvation. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, NASB). On part two of our conversation with former LDS Sandra Tanner, we explore in more detail the LDS concept of grace, works, and salvation. We also discuss the problematic LDS scripture known as the Book of Abraham.Related Links: Get the rest of the story including some of our most popular podcasts on Mormonism, access to some of our key LDS articles and our free, 4-page Watchman Fellowship Profile on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism): Watchman Fellowship articles on Mormonism: watchman.org/LDS Watchman Fellowship Profile on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: watchman.org/Mormonism Sandra Tanner's ministry - Utah Lighthouse: Utlm.org New biography, Lighthouse: Jerald and Sandra Tanner, Despised and Beloved Critics of Mormonism, by Ronald Huggins V. Eisenhower had 3 meetings with extraterrestrial races following that ‘First Contact' meeting. Now, almost 64 years later, the former President's great granddaughter, Laura Eisenhower, is sharing more of her and her Great Grandfather's stories. The Greada Treaty is signed every 10 years, and the ways in which it impacts upon the world and humanity is shocking. knowledge. The President requested the formation of an alien supervisory board. Some believe it is out of this that MJ 12 was formed to make sure to keep Eisenhower out of the loop, and Laura will go into this today. And if that first name sounds familiar, Hannah Zimmerman is the great granddaughter of renowned MSU president John Hannah. She's on campus exploring her great grandfather's archives in the MSU library to learn more about his legacy and how it inspires her.“John Hannah was my great grandfather, and I grew up in his legacy,” Zimmerman says. “I knew growing up about him through the sense that we lived on Hannah land, but I didn't know much about who he was or what he did in his incredible career until later.“I started a nonprofit, which has now transitioned into a hybrid organization based around ideas of civic engagement and organizing. Part of the work I'm doing here is learning about similar work he did and seeing how I can build on that legacy.“I took a course on election law at Stanford, and John Hannah's name when he was the commissioner of civil rights was in the cases we were reading. And it was just weird to me to see that this part of my life that I hadn't thought all that much about was really impactful in an arena I would want to go into. As I continue to grow into who I want to be and the issues I'm passionate about, I'm learning how to find inspiration from my great grandfather and the work he did.”As Zimmerman explores her great grandfather's memoir and archives, she's learning about his dedication to all people and to making room in an organization for everyone. “One of the things I'm really coming to appreciate is when he had dedication to one issue. Something my mom said to me last summer is ‘The thing about your great grandfather and what made him such a good leader is he understood to be a good leader you have to find a place for everyone in the organization. And that is my piece of advice for you.' When I started reading his memoir, which is part of why I wanted to come here, he talks about that principle of leadership and communicating. If you have a vision for something, you have to make sure that other people can see it, too.“He has that famous quote, ‘Only people matter, especially poor people.' That's something I am trying to live by. And as I read through the folders and see all the people he impacted, you can really see that for him, people are what mattered. And he was someone who really cared about feeding the world. And while my passion for organizing is different than his passion for agriculture, I can still see that he had one passion and followed it through several years in several different capacities. And that's just inspiring.”Zimmerman is the founder and director of TICO, The Institute for Civic Organizing, and she'll bring the TICO mission to East Lansing next year. She elaborates on the evolution and threefold mission of TICO. She's optimistic that more of us will become more civically organized in the months and years ahead.“The metaphor I always like to use with political participation is that it's like the ocean. Scientists say we've only explored about five percent of the ocean and there's 94 percent we haven't seen. And I feel like it's kind of that way with public participation as well. So many people are just not engaging as much with public institutions as I'd like to see. Taking the public and private and combining them, which is what we do at TICO, is my way of forcing the public sector to catch up through private sector activities and learning from what other countries are doing with their civic engagement processes and hopefully seeing what we can bring back and develop here.”Zimmerman details how she became New York's youngest elected official.“I really love the opportunities to connect with my neighbors and talk to them about who they're voting for and how to vote. And that work is very important and rewarding and you can see why people stay in public service. And again, I love building things like we do at TICO. I see my role there as building connections that help people vote and vote in an educated way. I'm glad that I can look at things that he did and find inspiration in them. And I'm also proud that that's what came from my family and I'm proud that I'm able to carry on with the work I'm doing. And hopefully in some small way, that'll add to what's going on in the world.”MSU Today airs Sunday mornings at 9:00 on 105.1 FM and AM 870 and streams at WKAR.org. Brea Grant will not let 2020 stand in her way. In addition to writing two films, directing one, and starring in several others, Grant also recently launched a new graphic novel from Six Foot Press. "Mary: The Adventures of Mary Shelley's Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Granddaughter" is a beautiful genre celebration purposefully linked to an extremely relatable coming-of-age saga.We cannot think of a better way to celebrate Halloween than hanging out with Grant in the Creator Corner and discussing her compulsion to explore the legacy of a literary icon. Plus, there is some serious chatter regarding the pros and cons of Sexy vs. Stitchy Frankenstein monsters. Can you guess where Lisa falls on this matter? It's a trick question. After listening to this episode, you'll want to continue your Brea Grant obsession by diving into her podcast, Reading Glasses. Lynne Jackson sometimes struggles to find her great-great-grandfather’s grave. Located in north St. Louis’ sprawling and historic Calvary Cemetery, the headstone is just two and a half feet high. A cemetery map helps, and on it, his grave is indicated in the key, with the number 19 beside his name: Dred Scott. It’s a modest memorial, and it’s also “the most asked-for grave out there,” according to Jackson, who last week launched a fundraiser in hopes of creating a nine-foot-tall educational memorial at the spot.

Khutulun was the warrior daughter of Kaidu, and the great-great granddaughter of Genghis Khan. While she was fearless in battle and an accomplished hand-to-hand fighter, tradition dictated that she be married off to cement political alliances. One problem: Khutulun didn't consider herself the marrying type. She agreed in principle to the marry someone, with one crucial caveat -- to win her hand in matrimony, her future husband would have to best her in the wrestling ring. This episode is like a history lesson in early baseball. To hear how fragile the beginning of organized baseball was from a great granddaughter of Doc Adams, the inventor of modern baseball is amazing! Consider this--without Doc's tireless efforts to unite various regions with the same rules, field dimensions and even baseballs and bats, America's Pastime could have never materialized into anything more than a kid's game. Hear Marjorie proudly talk about her relative with keen knowledge and passion especially the effort to get Doc Adams inducted into the Hall of Fame. If you think you know baseball's early history, this show will teach you a few things. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jim-campanis-jr/support
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Patricia Nixon entering the White House as First Lady. Through hard work and a personal touch, she had a remarkable influence on not only the White House, including its collection and preservation, but also on the role of First Lady. White House Historical Association President Stewart McLaurin talks to Anita McBride, Former Chief of Staff to Laura Bush, Bob Bostock, Special Assistant to Former President Nixon, and Melanie Eisenhower, Granddaughter of Richard and Pat Nixon and Great-Granddaughter of Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower, about the life and legacy of First Lady Pat Nixon.
We hope everyone is staying safe as Christmas approaches and life becomes hectic, chaotic and clouded with the insanity of shopping car park over-crowding in hot weather and high humidity. We recommend that you drink lots of water, rest in a cool shady spot and listen to something fun and entertaining, so in light of that here is our latest episode from the Nerds we all love. Please sit back, relax and enjoy that cold drink and let us entertain you.First up the Professor has news about Netflix getting involved with the Minecraft story mode. This is potentially the greatest news since Anthony Mundine was knocked out, and was silent for more than 30 seconds, not that we condone violence, but it was a teacher who took him down. Viva la Nerds!!!The DJ brings us news about the latest Bond movie changing director and a discussion about a number of things Bond related ensues. Buck the ancient Nerd is a Bond fan and has some trivia for us that is pretty cool. For example in which film did a camera man suffer an accident in which he nearly lost his life, but did lose a foot? DJ asks ‘who is everyone’s favourite Bond,’ so please send us a message and let us know, we will run a poll on Facebook also, we will let you know the results.Buck is excited about the story of Henry Sutton, a man referred to as Australia’s own Thomas Edison. The recent release of a book researched for a decade by his Great Granddaughter and recently published has him all bothered and aquiver. Trust us, this guy was a seriously cool inventor and scientist with some amazing work to his name. Author and art historian Lucinda Hawksley didn't know that her great great great grandfather was extremely famous until she was at school. She thought Charles Dickens was just someone she was related to. The author of Great Expectations, Bleak House, Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, and A Tale of Two Cities - Dickens is considered by many to be the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. He was certainly the nineteenth century's first great urban novelist with a social conscience. Lucinda has written about his life and of the many influential people who surrounded him in a new book called Charles Dickens and his Circle.

Growing Up Under Leopold's Influence: family remniscences and reflections about instilling a love for and connection with nature and the land by his daughter Estella Leopold and his great granddaughter Clare Kazanski. The Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies hosted a Symposium on April 3rd, 2009 honoring the centennial of the graduation of Aldo Leopold from the school and his acclaimed contributions to environmental conservation. Leopold became a leading and radical voice in American conservation, launching his land ethic in his celebrated book, “A Sand County Almanac.” The day-long symposium appraised the Leopold legacy, examined his relevance today and explored how his land ethic might be reformulated for the global environmental and social challenges of the 21st century. This is a recording of the conversation over lunch with Leopold’s youngest daughter Estella, and his great granddaughter, Clare Kazanski. The conversation was a reminiscence of family life at “the shack,” the abandoned farm in the Wisconsin prairie Leopold bought and restored in the 1930s and forties, and his continuing influence on his progeny today. Gene Likens, an ecologist and founding director of the Institute for Ecosystem Studies, introduced Estella and Clare. Estella is Professor Emeritus, Department of Biology, University of Washington. Clare Kazanski is a Program Associate of the National Climate Campaign at the Environmental Defense Fund.
