Dans un courrier tranchant de six pages seulement rendu public le 26 août, Emmanuel Macron a répliqué à la lettre de Benjamin Netanyahu qui l'avait accusé d'alimenter le “feu antisémite” en voulant reconnaître un État palestinien. “La lutte contre l'antisémitisme ne saurait être un sujet d'instrumentalisation et ne peut nourrir aucun désaccord entre Israël et la France”, tonne le président français qui reproche au Premier ministre israélien d'avoir fait fuité sa lettre dans la presse avant de lui envoyer. Il n'hésite d'ailleurs pas à rappeler qu'il a été le premier chef d'État français à assimiler l'antisionisme à l'antisémitisme. Les chiffres du ministère de l'Intérieur vont dans son sens : les actes antisémites en France au 1er semestre 2025 sont en baisse de 27 % par rapport à la même période en 2024.
