A heartfelt Tamil Father's Day tribute dedicated to every father who loved, sacrificed, protected, and dreamed silently for his children. While a mother carries a child in her womb, a father carries that same child in his heart, thoughts, responsibilities, and dreams. This emotional Tamil narration explores the unseen journey of fatherhood—from waiting outside the labour room to raising, guiding, protecting, and loving a child throughout life.If this touched your heart, share it with your father and let him know how much he means to you.---------------------------------------------------------"It takes me about several hours to ideate, record and give life to each episode. A quick tribute to moms everywhere using Isaiah. When Isaiah tries to acquaint us with the atonement and God's love …
Some people shape your life so deeply that you don't fully realize it until years later. This Mother's Day message explores the kind of love that stays when life gets hard—the quiet sacrifices, loyalty, and strength that often hold families together. Through the story of Ruth and Naomi, we see what it looks like to love someone through grief, disappointment, uncertainty, and change. But this message goes beyond motherhood. It's about the people who carried us, believed in us, protected us, and helped redeem broken moments in our lives.Dr. Gregg Marutzky reflects on personal stories, the lasting impact of spiritual mothers and mentors, and why honor, service, and steadfast love still matter in a culture that moves on quickly.Whether you're celebrating, grieving, remembering, or simply reflecting on the people who shaped you—this message is for you.Scripture Focus: Ruth 1–4Chapters00:00 Mother's Day Tribute 00:19 A Story About Mom 02:05 “Don't Mess With Mom” 03:48 Famous Quotes About Mothers 05:48 Ruth and Naomi Introduction 06:12 Why Mothers Matter So Deeply 07:40 Love, Serve, Obey, Honor 08:11 Ruth's Loyalty and Commitment 10:27 What Real Love Looks Like 13:36 Appreciate People While They're Here 14:37 Naomi's Grief and Bitterness 18:46 Serving and Sacrificing for Others 20:44 Faithfulness Rewarded 21:25 Voices That Mislead Us 24:17 What Honor Looks Like Practically 27:40 The Role of a Redeemer 29:08 Naomi's Plan 32:21 Ruth's Courage and Vulnerability 35:14 Legacy, Family, and Faith 35:46 The “Church Moms” Who Shape Us 40:32 Final Mother's Day DedicationClick here to donate to the programClick here for more sermonsOC Church of Christ

With Mother’s Day just around the corner this Sunday, Si and Lana decided to share some heartfelt tributes—but in true Breakfast Club fashion, things took a very weird turn.
In this Mother's Day re-release, Dr. Finlayson-Fife reflects on important lessons she learned from her own mother including how to embrace life and how to love the people in it well.
As this is the National Day of Prayer, we remind you, as we so often do, to pray for our country, our nation's leaders, our President, his cabinet, your members of the House of Representatives; your senators; your governor; your state leaders and representatives. We must also remember to pray for city and town mayors and local officials along with our courts at all levels. We need to pray that each of them will realize they have an accountability before God, and that they would make decisions in the best interest of the nation, rather than their own personal interest or what will advance them or their party in the next election. Pray that they would recognize what Scripture says: "It is righteousness that exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." We must humble ourselves as a nation before God, confessing our sin, and look to Him for guidance. While we are thankful for a day which our nation recognizes by proclamation, at Crosstalk these are things we regularly urge all listeners to do. This coming Sunday is Mother's Day. It's a time our nation sets aside to honor mothers. Moms have a great deal of influence upon their children, a fact that we see all throughout Scripture. That's why we offer this broadcast each year--a time to give listeners an opportunity to honor their mother.

Dalton began this tribute edition of Crosstalk, with the following from historian William Federer from his series, "How We Got Here": "On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, WWI ended. Though the ceasefire, called armistice, was signed at 5am in the morning, it specified that 11 am would be the time the actual fighting would cease. Tragically, in the intervening 6 hours of fighting, an additional 11,000 more were killed. Following WWI (the war to end all wars), President Warren Harding, in 1921, had the remains of an unknown soldier killed in France brought to Arlington Cemetery to be buried in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Inscribed on the tomb are the words: 'Here rests in honored glory an American soldier known but to God.'" "In 1926, President Coolidge began issuing proclamations honoring veterans every year and in 1938, the day became a legal holiday. In 1954, the name Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day to honor all soldiers of all American wars. 4 million Americans served in WWI. 16 million served in WWII. Nearly 7 million served in the Korean War. Nearly 9 million served in the Vietnam War. From the first Gulf War till the present, 7.4 million men and women served in the military." Memorial Day honors those who died while serving, while Veterans Day honors living soldiers. This broadcast served to allow listeners to honor the latter for their efforts.

As Jim began this broadcast, he noted how fatherhood is under attack. We've seen this over and over as many sitcoms make fathers the brunt of jokes or make them look like buffoons. He went on to describe articles that question the necessity of fathers, going so far as to claim that the outcomes for children of lesbian couples are no worse, and in some cases even better, than for children of heterosexual couples. One can only wonder what they mean by "successful outcomes" and what their foundation is for obtaining them. Yes, the world can and often does engage in cosplay as they act out alternatives to biblical fatherhood. However, as Jim shows from numerous places in the Bible, fathers can be a great blessing to their children when they avoid worldly alternatives and instead follow the guidelines put forth by our loving Creator. So don't miss this annual tribute to fathers as listeners were asked to answer the following questions: What spiritual impact has your father made on your life? Is there a life principle that he taught you? How has your father modeled Christ to you?

It may not be conventional in talk radio today to broadcast a tribute to mothers when there's so much on the political landscape to discuss, but let's face it, motherhood continues to get mocked. In response, each year Crosstalk gives listeners the opportunity to uphold motherhood by calling in with their words of love and appreciation. This time around Jim presented a piece from his father-in-law's file called, "The Meanest Mother." Hear what that's all about along with comments from the many listeners who make this annual Mother's Day tribute so special.
