Greetings to everyone and happy 2022!  Last year was tough; really tough.  This year is off to a really shaky start so, everyone needs to buckle in and dig deep because the worst may yet be around the corner.  Don't think it's all bad, though; I give you a little boost with news from the plant-based world and there is always something fun to talk about in it from KFC FINALLY releasing Beyond Meat nuggets to what amazing things kelp can do for us.  Unfortunately, this all comes attached with some sad news; this may be my last episode, and I go into why with this segment, but that doesn't mean I am going away for good or if I have even decided to hang it up.  Things must change and I want to thank everyone that has supported me in this endeavor so far; you people are AWESOME in ways I can't explain.  On that note, there is a lot of information to absorb this time around so, what are you all waiting for?  TUNE IN NOW!!

Hello to all my fellow leaf lickers out there!  November is here which means Plantsgiving is right around the corner for you and me.  Alright alright, not everyone celebrates with a vegan faux turkey day like me so, for all you that baste turkeys and do the traditional thing, I say eat, drink and have a happy upcoming Thanksgiving!  This month, to kick off the inevitable consumption of mass quantities, I talk about my time at the first annual Vegandale festival in Los Angeles this past October and some of the vendors that I tried.  I also bring up some upcoming products in the plant-based fast food world, celebrities being involved in vegan activism and the COP26 Summit complete with my two cents on the whole affair.  As always, there is tons of fun-filled information in this segment with lots of surprises and tons of ranting so, crack open a brew, microwave that crappy freezer burned vegan burrito that has been in your fridge for four months and TUNE IN NOW!!

Hello to all you plant-based patrons out there!  For your esteemed host, it has been one hell of a month and, despite my best efforts, I was unable to secure a guest.  That doesn't mean I don't have a back-up, though.  I figured I would go in the archives and pull up a segment I recorded on my other podcast a few years ago that seemed to fit the mold of this program which is community and my love of beer.  Excuse the poor audio and light editing; this was back when I was just starting.  The interview was top notch, though, showcasing a very talented man by the name of James Claus who is one of the partners and head brewmaster of 3 Disciples Brewing in Santa Rosa, CA.  This is easily one of my favorite guest encounters because of how passionate this man is about his career and all the insightful information he has regarding the industry.  We discuss crowler vs. growler, if the industry is facing a bubble and what it takes to own your own brewery.  Those of you expecting a vegan segment will have to wait, but those of you who love brew talk and just happen to be vegan, you're going to love this.  I hope to have James back on at some point, but, until then, TUNE IN NOW!!

The newest segment of The Valley Vegan Chillcast is LIVE! Previously, I have been giving you some of the newest dubstep, electronic and a journey through each genre in the past decades. However, I wanted to do something a bit different. Growing up, I played on all different types of video game systems from Nintendo and Playstation to Sega Genesis and Xbox. When I grew up, I started getting into PC games as well. The things that stood out to me were not the stories or the characters, but the music. The soundtrack of a game makes or breaks the experience. It sends you to a place outside of your reality and gives you goosebumps, nostalgia and even a majestic sense of wonder to explore. It encapsulates everything and nothing and you're never the same again. This week, I bring you some of my childhood tunes from the games I played from retro to modern from all walks of electronic life. Keeping up with the latest in coronavirus news, I have some very interesting articles that I looked through and it has come to my attention that the American people just weren't aware of what was in store for them.  We may have been able to stave this off.  I talk about how that could have been done.  I also get to news that relates to how the virus is affecting us as a society and what kinds of impacts it has made to media and what YOU as Americans should know regarding wages and your economic security.  This is one for the books, folks.  TUNE IN NOW!!

It has been almost two years since I had Jennifer Golden of The Vreamery on my program and since then, I have switched gears from hosting a podcast that rants and haas lots of unfiltered social commentary to a program that deals almost exclusively with vegan news and guests.  Having this wonderful woman back on almost feels like being home because, since we last talked, we have both grown in our ideals and learned tons of new information that has shaped our perception of the world for the better.  Not only that, but she is now on the precipice of finally opening up her shop at the Paso Walk in Paso Robles!  I couldn't be more excited for her and I had to get her back on the re-vamped show.  Keep in mind that this was over the phone and I was recording in less than stellar conditions so, if you can make it past all the technical things, then this is definitely a segment that you won't want to miss.  TUNE IN NOW!!

This is a throwback to my Word to the Wise Podcast days when I had a lot of different guests on. At the time of this recording, I was new to the vegan thing and this lady who I met in San Luis Obispo at a farmer's market was selling this plant-based cheese that looked delicious. I immediately liked it and her so, I gave her my card and we started talking shortly after I got home. One thing led to another and she ended up on my podcast! Jennifer Golden has come so far since then, but I wanted to share this with my audience to demonstrate how smart, genuine and talented one person can be. Having taken lessons at a renowned vegan artisan culinary school, that is now sadly defunct, Jennifer honed her craft and has produced amazing vegan cheeses that will make your jaw drop. What a wild weekend! This week, I take a trip up north to Sonoma County to attend the 16th annual release of Pliny the Younger! What a week it has been and what a way to end it with the death of Kobe Bryant. I am not a sports person anymore so, this man dying doesn't mean much to me. I have my opinion on his passing and it may come off as harsh, but it is more of a reflection on life and how some people act like it is such a huge deal that he is no longer with us.
