We should have never let Akutsu do the Castor & Pollux. I can't say for certain that that's where it all began- I haven't done my homework like that. But it just makes sense. He did those two-faced robots, those Janus-headed little jerks, and it just gave him a taste for reversible two-identitied designs that... I'm sorry, they're bad! There are some things to like about the Mirage Frame, but the two-faced elements just make it kinda crap. The Blazing, though! The Blazing rules. Timeless Truths: Every sincere Christian has made a decision to submit to the will of God. But that decision is going to be tested—especially in America. We're surrounded by so much prosperity that, if we're not careful, we can easily be drawn away from devotion to Christ and into a spirit of covetousness.
"Drawing on the lapping waves and flute of the original, I teased out some drones and loops, which I layered and structured using the original recording as a guide, some of which can be heard relatively unprocessed, particularly at the beginning and end of my piece, which takes its title from a fragment of a poem by Sappho (inspired by the location, of course)." Afternoon in Sigri, Greece reimagined by Joseph Sannicandro.

In this On Location episode during OWASP AppSec Global 2025 in Barcelona, Aram Hovsepyan, an active contributor to the OWASP SAMM project, brings a critical perspective to how the industry approaches security metrics, especially in vulnerability management. His message is clear: the way we collect and use metrics needs a serious rethink if we want to make real progress in reducing risk.Too often, organizations rely on readily available tool-generated metrics—like vulnerability counts—without pausing to ask what those numbers actually mean in context. These metrics may look impressive in a dashboard or board report, but as Aram points out, they're often disconnected from business goals. Worse, they can drive the wrong behaviors, such as trying to reduce raw vulnerability counts without considering exploitability or actual impact.Aram emphasizes the importance of starting with organizational goals, formulating questions that reflect progress toward those goals, and only then identifying metrics that provide meaningful answers. It's a research-backed approach that has been known for decades but is often ignored in favor of convenience.False positives, inflated dashboards, and a lack of alignment between metrics and strategy are recurring issues. Aram notes that many tools err on the side of overreporting to avoid false negatives, which leads to overwhelming—and often irrelevant—volumes of data. In some cases, up to 80% of identified vulnerabilities may be false positives, leaving security teams drowning in noise and chasing issues that may not matter. What's missing, he argues, is a strategic lens. Vulnerability management should be one component of a broader application security program, not the centerpiece. The OWASP Software Assurance Maturity Model (SAMM) offers a framework for evaluating and improving across a range of practices—strategy, risk analysis, and threat modeling among them—that collectively support better decision-making.To move forward, organizations need to stop treating vulnerability data as a performance metric and start treating it as a signal in a larger conversation about risk, impact, and architectural choices. Aram's call to action is simple: ask better questions, use tools more purposefully, and build security strategies that actually serve the business.GUEST: Aram Hovsepyan | OWASP SAMM Project Core Team member and CEO/Founder at CODIFIC | https://www.linkedin.com/in/aramhovsep/HOST: Sean Martin, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine and Host of Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast | https://www.seanmartin.comSPONSORSManicode Security: https://itspm.ag/manicode-security-7q8iRESOURCESLearn more and catch more stories from OWASP AppSec Global 2025 Barcelona coverage: https://www.itspmagazine.com/owasp-global-appsec-barcelona-2025-application-security-event-coverage-in-catalunya-spainCatch all of our event coverage: https://www.itspmagazine.com/technology-and-cybersecurity-conference-coverageWant to tell your Brand Story Briefing as part of our event coverage? From the workings of financial markets to our response to the ecological crisis, economic theory shapes the world. But where do these ideas come from? Ricardo's Dream: How Economists Forgot the Real World and Led Us Astray (Bristol University Press, 2024) tells the fascinating story of David Ricardo, Adam Smith's only real rival as the ‘founder of economics'. The wealthiest stock trader of his day, Ricardo introduced the study of abstract models to economics. He also developed the theory of trade that underpinned globalization and hides, behind its mathematical facade, a history of power, empire, and slavery. Brimming with fresh ideas and stories, Ricardo's Dream shows how too many economists, from Ricardo's day to our own, have turned away from observing the real world and led us astray. This episode features an interview with Bill Macaitis, Founder & CEO, SaaS CMO Pro, where he shares growth strategies for SaaS and AI companies. His past roles include CMO positions at Slack and Zendesk, and SVP of Marketing at Salesforce. Bill joins the podcast to discuss findings from a recent survey of over 300 B2B marketers that gives insights into marketing strategies and budgets. He shares what they learned about marketing versus sales budgets, the most common attribution model, and more. Key Takeaways:Companies that are growing the fastest, invest the most in marketing. While cause and effect of that correlation is unclear, it's an interesting finding. Pipeline generation was one of the most tracked metrics for CMOs, which is a nice move away from only looking at MQLs or leads. Unfortunately, awareness was rarely tracked, making it hard for marketing teams to invest in long-term initiatives. A lot of companies, 65 percent, continue to use first or last touch attribution models. Quote: So, what we learned is a lot of companies, I think especially in their earlier stages - percent still use first- or last- touch. It's kind of crazy. I'm still shocked by it. I remember my time at Salesforce, I was running the marketing ops team at that point, along with a couple other teams, and I just did a deep dive into attribution. Like I really wanted to understand like, hey, how many touches are people having with us before they became a lead? And then how many touches before they became a customer? What we would see is people would have 10, 20, 30 interactions or touches with us before they became a lead, and then they'd have like another 20 or 30 before they became a customer. And just imagine giving all the credit to the very first or last thing. And by the way, it's one of the reasons Google got so big was because a very common last touch thing is they will search on your company name. Branded search, right? And it's like, oh, like the SEM guys are like, this is amazing, right? We need to spend more on Google because they're producing these massive deals. And it's like, well wait, what about all the stuff in the middle?Episode Timestamps: *(03:48) Marketing Strategies and Budgeting*(22:31) Attribution Models in Marketing*(26:44) Top Metrics for B2B SaaS and AI Companies*(31:06) Marketing's Role in Revenue and ExpansionSponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com. Segment 1 • Chris Tomlin's The Last Supper movie raises major concerns. • Key issue: The portrayal of Satan and dramatic inaccuracies. • Would a lost person truly understand the biblical Jesus from the film? Absolutely not. Segment 2 • Chris Tomlin's presentation of an ancient hymn falls short this Easter. • Highlights: Nature, awe, and reverence—qualities many Easter services miss. • President's Easter Proclamation offers theological depth we should aim to emulate. Segment 3 • Paula White's influence on the President raises important questions. • Biden's Easter Proclamation is rich but lacks biblical focus. • A Missouri Senator's push to make Easter a federal holiday misses the mark, focusing on economics rather than faith. Segment 4 • Saturday Night Live misuses Jesus as a prop to mock Easter. • They avoid mocking Islam—why the double standard? • A Canton, GA pastor's response to critics reveals much about how Christ is perceived today. - Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme - Thanks for listening! Paul confronts Peter because of his sin, his choosing to not fellowship with the uncircumcised Gentiles when the circumcised Jews came into the room. Paul lets Peter know that he is in sin and his sin has led others astray as well! We take a deep dive into the seriousness of sin and who it effects beside us. What we see is it comes down to who do we chain ourselves to, who are we bound to? Ourselves? Our flesh? Or Jesus? Do we gratify our flesh or do we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us? If we say Jesus, then do we live like it or do we unholy lives deceiving ourselves thinking we are in good standing with God. Lord, break every chain that bounds us to the things that hinder our relationship with You!
Send us a textThe digital world is full of inspirational quotes—easy to share, easy to remember, and easy to accept as truth. But what if the wisdom we consume is shaping us in ways we don't even realize?Solomon, one of the wisest men who ever lived, understood something profound: Ideas have consequences. What we believe about life, success, and even death shapes the story we tell with our lives.Yet, the kind of wisdom Solomon offers in Ecclesiastes 7 isn't the kind you'll find in your daily motivational scroll. He challenges everything we assume about happiness, legacy, and what truly matters. Why does he say things like:
"Hearts of Stone - Pt. 4: The Heart That Goes Astray" We will be focusing on the hard hearts of the ones Pharoah refused to release, the people of Israel. It is important for us to learn from past failures, whether those mistakes were made by yourself or others.
