My guest this week is game developer Aaryn Flynn! Aaryn is the CEO of Inflexion Games, whose first title, Nightingale, will hit early release on Steam sometime this year. Aaryn spent much of his career at Bioware, where he worked his way up from tools programmer to Studio General Manager. He had his hands in a number of massive titles including the Mass Effect series, the Baldur's Gate series, the Dragon Age series, Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.Aaryn and I get deep into the weeds on development of Nightingale, including game mechanics, the importance of nailing a certain vibe for the player, and the challenges and complexity of creating a new game from scratch. We cover Aaryn's career at Bioware, and we talk about the use of early release for small developers and how any creative endeavor has to balance the business and creative sides in order to succeed. Enjoy my conversation with Aaryn Flynn!Check out Nightingale on Steam or their social media.Find Brian McClellan at his website, on Twitter and Instagram, or find his books on Amazon, direct from his bookstore, or wherever books are sold!Don't forget to support the show on Patreon, or pick up some swag on Redbubble. WOW!!! I can not believe I am saying this but Hasan Kaharam actually gave an interview to a few people about his game and the strange situation surrounding his game. Frankly I can not believe he agreed to this so we shall see what comes of him or what his games are if they ever see the light of day. We do have a longer show for you this week I found a fascinating article by USA Today about Aaryn Flynn a former GM at Bioware about his career but mainly about Dragon Age Inquisition. We discuss the two major points that he brought up as center points to some of the failures of the game. We touch on some new games that were announced as well as a couple games coming to a close. A strange collab with LEGO and Epic Games. Of course we close the show with Date Updates and we end the show with a closing question I do every week! Thank you as always for supporting the show in any way you can let us know if you have any questions! See y'all next week.

Hello all, and welcome to a new episode of the Power Up Podcast, This week, host Taylor Evans is joined by Anthony Dennis, Andrew Duron and Mike Sol as they discuss the weeks Video Game Trends, Opinions, news and much more. First up, as is the tradition on the Podcast the past couple of weeks, the guys discuss Anthem's recent release and its sales figures as well as their personal thoughts on the game and what could have been improved. Next up, Mike Sol brings us news of a possible Smash 3.0 Update that hints at a possible Home Run content being included in the game as well as a couple of other new modes. Is this something we want to see? https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sma... Next up, Anthony Dennis discusses a possible new Studio in the making that will be headed by an ex Bioware Dev. Aaryn Flynn is the one heading up this studio and is looking at joining with a couple of ex Telltale Games employees. This new studio will be one to keep eyes on. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/bio... Andrew Duron then leads us into the next topic with the news that EA will not be attending this years E3 conference in LA. With the recent failure of Anthem, we believe that EA is not at a point in the development of new I..P to actually show it off at a conference. Instead, will we see a Nintendo Direct style live stream later this year? Lastly, Taylor Evans discusses the possibility of From Software doing a Battle Royale. In a recent statement, the company advised that it was interested in undertaking a Battle Royale game. What might we see in this new title? Dark Souls BR anyone? https://www.pcgamer.com/au/dark-souls...
