Jeremy and Phillip kick things off with the latest Disney park news, including a deep dive into the Rockin' Rollercoaster overhaul at Hollywood Studios. They break down what the Muppets-themed redesign actually means for the ride experience, whether the Bluey permanent experience will move the needle on park attendance, and what came out of D23 about the Villains Land expansion. Plus, they get into private attraction rentals, resort bar crawl routes, and which parks win for first-timers, couples, and solo trips. Then Katie joins the show. She's a cast member at the Main Street Bakery inside Magic Kingdom, which most guests don't realize is a fully operating Starbucks. She pulls back the curtain on what it's actually like to work in one of Disney's busiest locations, from the cup writing traditions to the Disney-only drinks you won't find anywhere else, to the guest moments that remind you the magic isn't just in the rides. If you've ever walked past that bakery without a second thought, this episode will change that.

Journey back to a time of loincloth-clad heroes, questionable special effects, and magical quests as Enjoy Stuff dives into the wild world of 80s sword and sorcery films. Shua and Jay explore the legends, the laughs, and the low-budget chaos of this unforgettable fantasy era. From evil sorcerers to heroic barbarians, we celebrate the movies that tried to ride the fantasy wave and sometimes hilariously missed. Grab your glaive and prepare for adventure! News The new Masters of the Universe trailer makes the film look pretty exciting The first two episodes of Maul: Shadow Lord are now available, with a total of 10 episodes releasing two per week through May 4th. A PAC-MAN themed restaurant called "Chomp Stop" is open at Angel Stadium, bringing arcade-style snacks and nostalgia. Maxell has reintroduced a modern cassette player with Bluetooth, USB-C charging, and that classic retro vibe. Alan Tudyk will be inducted as a Disney Legend alongside notable names like Bob Iger and Lin-Manuel Miranda at D23 in August 2026. Actor James Tolkan, known for roles in Back to the Future and Top Gun, has passed away at age 81. Check out our TeePublic store for some enjoyable swag and all the latest fashion trends What we're Enjoying Jay has been diving into The Anatomy of Genres by John Truby, a deep exploration of storytelling structure that breaks down what makes different genres tick. He's been enjoying how it analyzes narrative "beats" and provides insight into crafting compelling stories across multiple genres. Shua has been getting creative with sculpting, using leftover clay to craft a fun bobble-head of a school mascot. He also created a Mother's Day gift by sculpting figures of his two dogs. Sci-Fi Saturdays - This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay spotlights Ready Player One (2018), a visually exciting adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel. While it differs from the book, the film still delivers a fun and accessible dive into a pop culture-filled dystopia, making it a worthwhile watch for both fans and newcomers. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. This week he's added some new locations from Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU. Enjoy the Loin Cloth! Step into a misty realm of magic, monsters, and muscles as Shua and Jay return to the age of sword and sorcery films. Inspired by the success of early fantasy hits, the 1980s unleashed a wave of low-budget adventures filled with epic quests, dramatic villains, and plenty of unintentional comedy. We explore what made these films so memorable, even when they weren't exactly "good." Along the way, they discuss a variety of films that defined (or tried to define) the genre, from cult classics to bizarre oddities. And Jay plays a fun game that challenges him to distinguish between barbarian names and heavy metal bands. What's your favorite sword and sorcery movie? Let us know! First person that emails me with the subject line, "Crush your enemies" will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. From membership strategies to collectible exclusives, they break down what you need to know before tickets go live. Then, in this week's feature, Jim explores the surprisingly rich history behind pressed pennies—how a simple, low-cost souvenir became a staple of Disney parks and a quiet revenue powerhouse. NEWS • D23 Ultimate Fan Event ticketing rolls out with tiered access, giving paid Gold Members early purchase windows ahead of Disney+ subscribers • Honda Center seating add-ons and limited availability raise concerns for fans trying to secure access to major presentations • Random Selection Process (RSP) pins debut with unclear odds, limited quantities, and eligibility tied to higher-priced ticket packages • Disney+ perk offers 20% off D23 Gold Membership upgrades, prompting fans to weigh whether paid tiers improve ticket chances • Ravensburger announces a Disney Lorcana Championship Qualifier at D23, adding a competitive gaming element to the event FEATURE • Pressed pennies date back to early railroad experiments in the 1800s—but didn't arrive in Disney parks until 1987 • Introduced during the Michael Eisner era, penny machines were designed as low-cost, high-margin additions to boost in-park spending • Early machines debuted on Main Street, U.S.A., quickly proving successful and expanding across Disney parks worldwide • Modern machines now use pre-made blanks instead of real pennies, reflecting the discontinuation of U.S. penny production HOSTS • Jim Hill - IG: @JimHillMedia | X: @JimHillMedia | Website: JimHillMedia.com • Lauren Hersey - IG: @lauren_hersey_ | X: @laurenhersey2 FOLLOW • Facebook: JimHillMediaNews • Instagram: JimHillMedia • TikTok: JimHillMedia SUPPORT Support the show and access bonus episodes and additional content at Patreon.com/JimHillMedia. Major Announcement we are shifting our coverage. This is a permanent change. No there isn't news about PlayStation raising prices. Or That Dave Chappelle is coming to CoD. Nintendo losing a lawsuit, not here. Netflix raising prices, I guess that might warrant sports coverage. Also not sure who Supergirl or He-man are.
In today's episode we have a ton of fun to share! From DCA first visits, Wondercon, Spotlight Series, D23 ticket sales and being ripped off by the Mouse himself, What!? How?! Well…Stay tuned!
J.B. and Eddie are out of the vault and over the moon for this one. This week the guys review Pixar's Wall-E (2008) — a film that somehow delivers sharp environmental and social commentary, a sweeping romance, and some of the best physical comedy in Pixar history, all with barely any dialogue. Is it the most underrated film in the Pixar canon? The guys make a strong case, and debate where Wall-E ranks among cinema's greatest robots. Then in Disney News: the new class of Disney Legends is announced ahead of D23 — and it's a fascinating mix of animators, voice actors, Imagineers, and a couple of familiar faces with movies coming out this summer. Plus, Avengers: Doomsday continues to raise eyebrows as Imax hands its screens to Dune: Messiah, and Disney's newly relaunched Adventure World at Disneyland Paris is turning heads with some jaw-dropping robotics. The We Call It Imagineering series on Disney+ is required viewing.
We've made it to the third month of 2026 and there's more news on the current slate of shows and movies in the Lucasfilm and Disney pipeline. Maul, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, Grogu, and a bunch of star pilots that like to dogfight among the stars. In episode 215, there's news about D23 this August, Disney Parks news thanks to a new CEO at Disney, a note on the change at the head of Lucasfilm, news for gamers, news for collectors, and a prayer for people looking for a way to heaven in our segment called "This is the Word."Feel free to take part in contributing ideas and commenting on our podcasts on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, on Facebook, through Amazon's podcast portal, or even on Discord. A Question Beneath Cinderella Castle This week's special Tuesday night edition of This Week at Walt Disney World started with a simple question. As work around Cinderella Castle revealed old tracks in the drained moat, Greg asked what they were. That question led Sam down a deeper path — and the answer brought back one of Walt Disney World's earliest attractions. The Full Story of the Swan Boats Those tracks were not random. They were part of the original Swan Boats that once operated at Magic Kingdom in the 1970s and early 1980s. The Swan Boats offered guests a quiet cruise around the castle hub and into nearby waterways. Unlike today's attractions, this was more about atmosphere than thrills. It reflected an earlier version of the park, where scenic experiences played a bigger role. The boats followed a guided path, which explains the tracks revealed beneath the moat. When the attraction closed, most of that infrastructure disappeared from view — until now. Seeing those tracks again gives guests a rare connection to opening-era Walt Disney World. It is a reminder that the park has always evolved, even in places most guests never think to look. Buzz Lightyear Soft Opening Continues Back in the present, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin continues its soft opening period ahead of its official return. Greg revisited the attraction and shared how his opinion has changed since earlier cast member previews. That second look added more perspective and made Buzz one of the most talked-about updates at Magic Kingdom right now. D23 Expo Tickets Go on Sale Looking ahead, D23 The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 tickets go on sale this week. Sam and Greg talked through what fans should expect, how quickly tickets may move, and what they are hoping to see announced. The show also looked at the 2026 class of Disney Legends, adding another layer of anticipation for what D23 could bring this year. Easter Arrives at Walt Disney World Walt Disney World is already preparing for the Easter holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny have arrived in the parks, bringing seasonal photo opportunities and a classic Disney touch. At the same time, Band Leader Mickey is performing with the Philharmagic marching band in the castle hub, adding live entertainment and energy to the park atmosphere. A Perfect Time for a Retro Easter Look With Easter approaching, Sam highlighted the Easter Parade archive — a collection that captures classic Disney holiday moments. It is a perfect reminder of how Disney has celebrated Easter over the years, and why those traditions still resonate today. For longtime fans, there is something special about revisiting a retro Easter morning. All That and More with Sam & Greg Live From uncovering the history of the Swan Boats to Buzz updates, D23 planning, and Easter celebrations, this special Tuesday night show blended Disney history with current park news. Join Sam and Greg each week for This Week at Walt Disney World LIVE, where Disney past and present come together.

On Episode 131 of The Dreaming of Disney, we're taking you inside the D23 25th Anniversary panel for Disney California Adventure and breaking down everything we learned .From the 1995 Aspen retreat where Michael Eisner and Imagineers dreamed up a second gate… to the budget constraints that shaped the original park… to the mind-blowing logistics of filming Soarin' Over California… we're diving deep into how DCA was born. Then we shift into the reimagining era. How Buena Vista Street transformed the entrance. How Pixar Pier found its identity. The emotional, controversial switch from Tower of Terror to Guardians of the Galaxy. The genius behind Cars Land. And how World of Color almost didn't happen until Bob Iger asked one simple question: “When can we do this?”Plus, Audreyann shares why Guardians might just be better than Tower (yes, we said it), and we reflect on how Imagineers honored the past while building the DCA we love today. If you love park history, Imagineering stories, and behind-the-scenes Disney magic, this one's for you.

Live from Disney's BoardWalk For the week of February 11, 2026, Sam and Greg went live on location from Disney's BoardWalk at Walt Disney World. The setting brought great atmosphere and real park energy, even if a few technical difficulties cut the show slightly short. The experience delivered valuable lessons, and yes — more live broadcasts from the parks are coming. The Big Game Is Over — MVPs to Disneyland The Big Game is in the books, and as tradition holds, the MVPs are heading to Disneyland. That moment always sparks conversation, but this year the focus went deeper. Sam and Greg broke down Disney's Super Bowl advertising investment and where the company chose to spend its dollars. The message was clear — This is the Way. Disney leaned into its strongest brands and signaled where it sees growth and long-term storytelling momentum. Villaintines Day and Valentine's Day at Walt Disney World Walt Disney World prepared for two back-to-back celebrations. Villaintines Day on February 13 brought a darker twist to the season, while traditional Valentine's Day festivities followed across the parks and resorts. From themed treats to couples celebrating in the parks, the atmosphere blended playful villain energy with classic romance. D23 Tickets on Sale in April Another major announcement: D23 tickets go on sale in April. Sam and Greg discussed what fans should expect, how quickly events can sell out, and why planning ahead matters for major Disney fan gatherings. Muppet Backlash and AI Allegations Online discussion swirled around alleged AI usage connected to Muppet content. Sam and Greg reacted to the backlash, separating speculation from confirmed information while discussing why authenticity matters so much to longtime fans of The Muppets. Live Show Lessons and What's Next Although the broadcast ended earlier than planned due to technical issues, the experiment was a success. Broadcasting live from Disney's BoardWalk added energy and spontaneity that studio shows simply cannot replicate. The takeaway is simple: expect more live, on-location shows from Walt Disney World in the future. All That and More with Sam & Greg Live From Super Bowl strategy and MVP traditions to Villaintines Day, D23 news, and Muppet discussions, it was another conversation-filled week. Join Sam and Greg each week for This Week at Walt Disney World LIVE, where Disney news, park culture, and fan conversation come together.
Step inside Walt Disney's office at the Walt Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, California in today's special episode. Disney Parks invited me to tour the original Walt Disney Animation building and step inside Walt's office suite 3H, which he occupied from 1940 to 1966.
