We talk about his role in Inquisition, his suspicious comments, and of course, the twist in his story. Note: there are some spoilers for Veilguard and Inquisition in this episode. Zea's out this week, but the rest of the NAFC crew is here to pick up the chaos. Gibbs shares his thoughts on the Severance finale (no spoilers… maybe), and gives a shoutout to the creepy slow-burn vibes of The Roottrees Are Dead. Izzy vents about his ongoing frustrations with Dragon Age: Inquisition, because nothing says fun like bad pacing and clunky mechanics. Meanwhile, Mox boots up Robocop: Rogue City and is already knee-deep in justice and cybernetic mayhem. To wrap things up, the gang dives into their final pick for the WTF Did I Just Watch theme with Mad God—a grotesque, stop-motion fever dream that left them all a little disturbed and very confused. Perfect way to close out the theme. Support us on Patreon!
SPOILER WARNING! The first 45 minutes of this episode are a deep dive into the latest Severance episode, with the crew dissecting every twist, turn, and mind-breaking moment. If you're not caught up, you might want to skip ahead—or just embrace the spoilers. Outside of Severance-induced existential spirals, Mox takes a trip back to early 2000s sci-fi with Farscape, while Izzy finally wraps up Kingdom Come: Deliverance and jumps straight into Dragon Age: Inquisition, because medieval RPG suffering is apparently a lifestyle. Finally, it's time for Zea's movie pick in the WTF Did I Just Watch theme: Swiss Army Man. The crew unpacks this absurd, hilarious, and oddly emotional fever dream of a film, complete with farting corpses and unexpected life lessons. Support us on Patreon!

Greetings and Salutations everyone,We decided to do a second HBM episode this month instead of a HBE, we know a part of our audience likes it when we talk about Bioware so we hope this is a fun holiday present for you guys! We are going to be honest, this is a very text based analysis, and might not be the easiest to follow along with for those who have not played the game. We do think there is something there for everyone since we talk about how you can approach RPGs and choices in video games in general. We also talk about notions of representation that are universally accessible.Hope you enjoy!Frank & LeonIf you can and are interested in early episodes and the Here Be Extras, check our Patreon!https://www.patreon.com/leftpage Also! “If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer.” Just ahead of the release of the fourth instalment in BioWare's fantasy RPG series, we finally get around to scrutinising the third game in the series - Dragon Age: Inquisition. Leon, Brian, Leah and Tony have quested long, scouring the plains of Thedas to explore the game's systems and characters - intimately. As usual we also have correspondents from the far-flung corners of the wastes, reporting back to the war room with their own findings. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/podcast/cane_and_rinse_issue_641.mp3 Music featured in this issue: 1.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the first game in the series without DLC, marking a significant departure from the franchise's typical post-launch content strategy. The game's overt wokeness and focus on gender identity themes may have contributed to its poor sales, with 5% of content potentially alienating a massive audience. A trans character named TSH is a major plot point, with misgendering resulting in punishment, highlighting the game's controversial approach to representation. The trans character storyline is described as a multi-million dollar therapy session, suggesting excessive resources devoted to a niche topic. The game's script writers appear to have a strong personal connection to gender identity issues, potentially influencing the narrative direction. The lack of DLC and focus on a complete story contrasts with previous games' post-launch content, which often included major plot developments like Solas' heel turn in Dragon Age: Inquisition. BioWare is discontinuing support for Dragon Age: The Veilguard due to poor sales and criticism over its perceived political themes, as it shifts its focus to developing Mass Effect 5. 00:00 BioWare is abandoning Dragon Age: The Veilguard without DLC to focus on Mass Effect 5, citing poor sales linked to perceived activism. 02:06 Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not receive DLC as BioWare shifts focus entirely to Mass Effect 5. 03:12 BioWare is abandoning Dragon Age: The Veilguard for Mass Effect, confirming no future DLC due to the game's poor performance. 05:15 BioWare's Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in development since 2015, faces criticism for mediocrity and perceived political themes, leading to a negative reception among gamers. 07:32 BioWare's "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" faces criticism for its handling of gender identity, with some players feeling disconnected from the narrative. 09:41 Dragon Age: The Veilguard features hidden themes of gender identity, which may impact its sales. 10:48 BioWare is shifting focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, indicating a decline in quality and trust in beloved franchises. 12:04 BioWare's Dragon Age: The Veilguard is struggling to meet expectations, leading to concerns about potential layoffs and a decline in the gaming industry's current era.

A remake of Super Famicom's Romancing Saga 2 from back in 1993, Revenge of the Seven lovingly reimagines the epic storyline set over hundreds of years and dozens of generations of heroes. This episode is late? Yeah! Of course it is! I was trapped in a small-ish room for a week and a half and I couldn't get out until I opened six brief cases that each contained one piece of a puzzle that when placed together formed a star map that lined up with a constellations poster on that wall that helped me triangulate a latitude and longitudinal direction that corresponded to a password on a computer that allowed me to unlock the door and finally exit! An Inquisition that everyone saw coming. Retro Encounter played the first two Dragon Age games in the last nine months, so naturally there would come the time to finish the fight. Dragon Age: Inquisition escalates and expands the conflicts and concepts of the first two Dragon Age games, from the Mage-Templar war to the plight of Dalish Elves, in a 2014 Game of the Year contender. So how does today's Retro Encounter panel find this decade-old open-world? Listen to find out! Two fifths of the way through season 2! IRL, Sarah has been re-playing Dragon Age Inquisition in anticipation for the next Dragon Age coming out soon. Joe has been entertaining friends, trying to make Ohio seem as appealing as possible. A monumental task.In Kimi Ni Todoke season 3 episode 2, we go on a field trip! The crew goes to Okinawa and has some fun in the sun. Or at least, Sawako and Kazehaya have some fun (maybe too much fun…), Ayane and Chizu on the other hand, are having considerably less of a good time. Ayane has, then gets rid of a new boyfriend after an extremely underwhelming meet cute. Chizu gets all in her head after Ryu gets asked out by another girl. Lots of drama this episode! Come join us on the beach!

Welcome to episode 25 of Shack Together! I'm your producer, Joe Stasio, and today we're joined by host Asif Khan and Shacknews Managing Editor Bill Lavoy. We kick things off with our usual "What Have You Been Playing?" segment. Bill shares his thoughts on Fallout London, while I give the crew my quick impressions of Valorant and update everyone on my continued journey through Thedas in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Asif also gives us a glimpse into what he's been playing recently, and spoiler alert, it involves a certain pixelated racing revival. Our main segment today is "Annie Guess Your Gun," a game where the crew tries to identify weapons from both the Fallout and Metro series. Over in Story Time, we delve into a range of recent gaming news, detailed below, before addressing some feedback from the Shacknews community. And that's going to do it for today's show. We have some fantastic conversations this week. First, we play Nexon's new looter shooter called The First Descendant. Brett played it in beta back in October of 2022 and now it's out in full release. It's part Warframe and part Destiny. Will it be good enough to take some player's away from the other games? Brett also gets into the closed beta for FragPunk. It's a Valorant-like game with a mix of Counter-Strike and Overwatch making a fun, gorgeously designed hero shooter with fast combat and a card system that really changes the game.We go back 10 years to Dragon Age: Inquisition. In preparation for Dragon Age: Veilguard, we wanted to see how this game held up and why or why not we think this new direction is the right one for Veilguard. Brett also beat both Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and these games have truly redefined RPG's for him. What does this mean for the future of RPG's? Will they ever be able to live up to these games?Lastly, Helldivers 2 has lost 90% of its active players. Can they come back? What do they need to regain people's interest? We still love it but will it stay that way after a year?Show Notes:1:18 - Housekeeping2:29 - The First Descendant Early Review: Destiny Meets Warframe34:20 - Can FragPunk Go Up Against Valorant?1:00:02 - Dragon Age Inquisition in 2024: Did It Age Well?1:25:11 - Redefining RPG's: Baldur's Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 20771:49:36 - Helldivers 2 Lost 90% of Its Active Players: What Can Bring It Back?2:14:29 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! Among the bombastic trailers showcased in the Xbox showcase at Not E3™ — er, I mean Summer Game Fest™ — was one particular reveal that some fans have been waiting for for the better part of a decade: Dragon Age: The Veilguard. And boy oh boy, was it ever a bewildering first look. This week, Zak and Aaron sit down to discuss their impressions of the newest iteration of Dragon Age 4, and why it seems to feel so little like the beloved games that came before it. They also discuss what's lost when IPs that used to have a strong identity throw what made them unique by the wayside in favor of mass appeal. Please, enjoy.Listen to Beach Girl on SpotifyCheck out edouggieart on EtsyCheck out even more edouggieart on Instagram

It's not Elden Ring time YET. Instead, Alex messed around in the beginning of Kingdom Come before playing a good chunk of Dragon Age Inquisition, remember that, once upon a time, Bioware made good games. Chance messed around in the middle of Kingdom Come, all the while fighting with his old PS4 for character saves for the Erdtree expansion. And Chamberlain sampled Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, then moved on to Still Wakes the Deep a fine sci-fi horror walking sim with a tremendous Scottish accent.

Kolmandal Eesti mängude kuu nädalal on külas Karel Airapetjan, kes väikese tiimiga teeb juba veidi kuulsust kogunud mängu Digested, kus mängija peab põgenema Aegna saarel teda jahtiva hiigelmao eest. Ka on mõned uudised suhteliselt otse seotud külalise teemadega - The Long Dark lisab mängijat jälitava kolli ja üks Eesti mäng läheb lõpuks kinni. Ja EA reklaamilubadusi ja kõlakaid Red Dead'i PC versioonist oleme kuulnud juba aastaid. Rein tegi mõneks ajaks World of Warcraft Classicuga lõpparve ja Rainer on mänginud You Are Peter Shortsi, Indikat ja räägib, kuidas üks retromäng on ta elu muutnud. Soovitusi on mitmeid: Epicus tasuta Dragon Age Inquisition, Steamis Marathon Classic ja ka Reinu mäng on Steamis alla hinnatud! Today's episode is a discussion about elven blood writing, also known as vallaslin. In the course of Dragon Age Inquisition, your inquisitor may learn that vallaslin are also markings that bind the wearer as a slave to the Evanuris. We break down this knowledge, and discuss what it means to Dalish culture. Now introducing Dragon Age Lorecast merch for everyone! Check it out at our shop! Want to chime in on the conversation?
