Hall of Fame goaltender, Grant Fuhr, joins me on the podcast this week. Anyone who knows hockey knows Grant was a key member of the 1980's Oilers' dynasty, winning 5 Stanley Cups in his 10 seasons with the team. Grant went on to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, and St. Louis Blues, where he had a career resurgence in his mid 30's carrying the team to the second round of the playoffs before disaster (Nick Kypreos) struck, destroying his knee and forcing him to undergo a double ACL and MCL surgery, the first of its kind to that point. Grant now spends his days on the golf course making the rounds on the pro-am circuit. His magnetic personality has bestowed upon him a diverse group of friends outside the world of hockey including legends like Jim McMahon, Marshall Faulk, and Charles Barkley. We had a chance to talk about the experience of making his documentary, his life after hockey, and some of his thoughts on the NHL today.
