It's been quite a journey for Kennett Square, PA native Nick Ward. He grew up a big Phillies fan, played in the A's system, then two years in the independent Frontier League, for the Adelaide Giants, Team Great Britain in the WBC, and is now playing in his hometown organization with the BlueClaws. -      Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins is out of the second Test against the West Indies in Adelaide after failing to overcome a quad strain. -      David Warner has sensationally withdrawn an application to have his Cricket Australia leadership ban overturned. -      Socceroos hero Craig Goodwin has called on federal and state governments to increase their investment in Australian football to ensure the sport truly cashes in on the national team's memorable FIFA World Cup campaign. -      The Australian Dolphins Swim Team is in Bendigo preparing for next week's FINA World Short Course Championships in Melbourne. -      The Adelaide 36ers will again play twice this weekend starting with an important game at home on Friday night against the struggling Perth Wildcats. Jakob Ryan is nominated for the coming AFL draft and is expected to find a home on an AFL list. He came into the studio LIVE to speak with Bryce and Hayesy. Curtis Mead is one of the most exciting baseball prospects in the world and has just been named on the 40-man roster of the Tampa Bay Rays. Curtis played junior baseball with West Torrens and is home this summer while rehabbing his injured elbow. He phoned in to talk about the announcement and the season ahead for the Adelaide Giants. South Australian Curtis Mead has been named on Tampa Bay's 40-man roster for the coming Major League Baseball season. 17-year-old Australian Genevieve Beacom made history in January 2022 as the first female pitcher for an Australian professional baseball team.  Gen took to the mound in the sixth inning for the Melbourne Aces in the team's Melbourne Challenge Series game against the Adelaide Giants. She pitched a scoreless inning without giving up a hit at Melbourne Ballpark. It wasn't the first time however that Gen has become the first girl or woman to break a new barrier or set a new milestone in baseball with the Melbourne pitcher also boasting the honours of being the first woman to pitch in a Victorian Summer League division one game, the first girl selected to a Victorian U16 team and to play for Australia at the Cal Ripken Series.
