Bulls' Mathurin Sign-And-Trade Path Just Got REAL + Nic Claxton Arrives To Prove Critics Wrong

Could the Chicago Bulls have the cleanest path to a Bennedict Mathurin sign-and-trade?On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down the latest Bulls rumors surrounding Bennedict Mathurin and why Chicago's possible sign-and-trade framework may stand out among reported suitors like the New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks and others. With Mathurin expected to command more than Chicago's room mid-level exception, a sign-and-trade could become the most realistic path — and a package involving Isaac Okoro plus second-round picks may be one of the smoother options for the Clippers.Haize also discusses why the Clippers may want meaningful value back instead of simply helping another team land Mathurin, how New Orleans' asset limitations and luxury-tax situation could affect the market, and why Chicago's front office under Bryson Graham still appears willing to stay active if the right opportunity presents itself. Then the focus shifts to Nic Claxton, who has finally arrived at the Advocate Center in Bulls gear. Claxton's first day in Chicago is a reminder of how important he could be for Tiago Splitter's defense, especially around young pieces like Caleb Wilson and Matas Buzelis. Can Claxton shore up the Bulls' rim protection, regain his defensive impact and prove the trade was worth the cap-space gamble?Plus, Haize reacts to voicemails on national doubt surrounding the Bulls, why games are not won on paper, whether Chicago could exceed expectations, and why Cam Thomas may not fit the Bulls' preferred style despite his scoring ability.

Was The Nic Claxton Trade Actually Bad? Bulls Shooting Problem May Be Overblown

Was the Nic Claxton trade really one of the worst moves of the NBA offseason — or are people missing what the Chicago Bulls actually needed? On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why SB Nation ranking the Bulls' acquisition of Nic Claxton as the fifth-worst move of the offseason may be too harsh. The asset-management criticism is fair: Chicago used cap space and took on roughly $44 million over two years instead of extracting draft capital. But from a basketball standpoint, Claxton checks several major boxes for this roster. The Bulls finished 22nd in defensive rating, allowed opponents to shoot 58.9% in the paint, and badly needed a real defensive center next to Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis and Caleb Wilson.Haize explains how Claxton gives Tiago Splitter defensive flexibility with switching, mobility, length, blitzing ability and recovery speed. He also looks at how Claxton could help protect Matas and Caleb while they develop into a long, athletic defensive frontcourt. But the concerns are real: spacing could get ugly, Claxton's rebounding must bounce back, and the Bulls need the 2022-24 version of Claxton — not the statistically declining one from last season. Then the show shifts to Chicago's biggest offensive concern: is the Bulls' shooting actually as bad as it looks? Haize breaks down why the answer may be “not as bad as people think.” Josh Giddey has become a respectable shooter, Matas Buzelis already has high-volume three-point confidence, Caleb Wilson changed the conversation in Summer League, Norman Powell brings proven shooting gravity, and Jalen Smith may be too important as a stretch big to give away.

Are the Chicago Bulls done making moves, or is Bryson Graham keeping one chair open for a reason? On today's Chicago Bulls Central, Haize breaks down why the Bulls may enter the regular season with their 15th full-time roster spot open. After days of smoke around Bennedict Mathurin, including reported interest from Chicago and praise from the Bulls' coaching staff, local reporting has suggested that the interest may be overstated. That does not completely kill the possibility, but it does make the Bulls' bigger priority clear: flexibility.Haize explains why keeping the final roster spot open may line up with Bryson Graham's front-office philosophy. Instead of rushing into a restricted free-agent sign-and-trade or adding a veteran just to fill the bench, Chicago could preserve flexibility to help facilitate trades, take on salary, or collect future draft capital if the right opportunity appears. Then the conversation gets bigger: Should the Bulls be watching the Orlando Magic and a potential second-apron crunch involving Paolo Banchero? If Orlando ever reaches a point where Banchero becomes available, should Chicago be aggressive even if the fit with Matas Buzelis and Caleb Wilson is imperfect?Plus, Haize looks ahead to 2027 free agency and why the 2026–27 season may be an evaluation year that determines whether the Bulls eventually pursue a player like Mathurin, Peyton Watson, or Jalen Duren.

Can Tiago Splitter turn the Chicago Bulls into a top-15 defense immediately? Haize breaks down why the Bulls finally have the defensive personnel to make a real jump after allowing 121.5 points per game last season, ranking 28th in the NBA. With Nic Claxton, Isaac Okoro, Matas Buzelis, Caleb Wilson, Dailyn Swain, Leonard Miller and Tre Jones, Chicago now has far more size, length, versatility and defensive tools than the group that finished 31–51.Haize also looks at what Splitter's Portland defensive success could mean for Chicago. Portland used multiple coverages, controlled shot quality, finished fifth in blocks, allowed the sixth-fewest made threes, and ranked 14th in defensive rating. Now the question is whether Splitter can transfer those principles to a Bulls roster built around Claxton's rim protection, Okoro's point-of-attack defense, and the weak-side length of Buzelis and Wilson. Then the conversation shifts to the Bulls' rotation battle. The starting five looks clearer with Josh Giddey, Norman Powell, Caleb Wilson, Matas Buzelis and Nic Claxton, but the bench and “outside looking in” group could get ruthless fast. Players like Rob Dillingham, Dailyn Swain, Patrick Williams and Noa Essengue may have to fight for every minute under a new front office and head coach with no loyalty to the old regime.

In this July 29th livestream, Stacy Claxton steps in as guest host while Tom takes time off over the summer. She introduces herself as a somatic integration practitioner and transformational coach with New Biology Clinic, and invites viewers into an experiential session using EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, as a self-healing tool.Stacy frames the session around Tom's “SIT” concept from the previous week — the “syndrome of insufficient thinking” — and leads the audience through a playful, body-based practice for noticing where SIT may be showing up in the body, relationships, emotions, symptoms, or the wider world.Highlights from this session include:-Stacy introduces EFT as “Emotional Freedom Techniques” and explains how emotions can be understood as signals in the body rather than something to suppress.-She reframes “freedom” as the capacity to be with all of life — emotions, memories, symptoms, relationships, and challenges — rather than simply trying to get free from discomfort.-She explains tapping as a simple, versatile tool that uses the fingertips, breath, voice, and body awareness to help create more flow, regulation, and self-connection.-Stacy walks viewers through the EFT tapping points, including the top of the head, inside of the eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin crease, collarbone point, under the arm, and side of the hand.-She encourages viewers to use EFT for physical symptoms, emotional distress, mental loops, fear, overwhelm, relationship challenges, spiritual growth, children, and pets.-She then guides the audience through a deeper tapping journey focused on identifying a specific issue, symptom, relationship pattern, or “case of SIT” and using the body's own signals as a doorway to greater truth, freedom, and possibility.Stacy closes the session by reminding viewers that their body carries wisdom, that they have powerful tools “at their fingertips,” and that New Biology Clinic and the Cowan community offer space for people to explore health, emotion, freedom, truth, and transformation together.Support the showWebsites:https://drtomcowan.com/https://www.drcowansgarden.com/https://newbiologyclinic.com/https://newbiologycurriculum.com/Instagram: @TalkinTurkeywithTomFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/DrTomCowan/Bitchute: https://www.bitchute.com/channel/CivTSuEjw6Qp/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzxdc2o0Q_XZIPwo07XCrNg

Did ESPN underrate the Chicago Bulls' offseason? Haize breaks down why a C+ grade for Bryson Graham's first offseason feels too harsh when the Bulls landed Caleb Wilson at No. 4, drafted Dailyn Swain at No. 15, added Nic Claxton, signed Norman Powell, brought back Zach Collins, and still maintained future flexibility. The Bulls did not have the flashiest offseason in the NBA, but they finally looked calculated. Powell's deal includes a team option, Claxton was added without giving up meaningful value, and Collins' deal also keeps Chicago flexible. That is a major change from the short-sighted roster-building Bulls fans have been frustrated with for years. Then Haize turns to Matas Buzelis' potential Most Improved Player case. Matas is focused on getting stronger, has upgraded his nutrition with a chef, wants to attack the rim more, has interest in working with Deni Avdija, and has already worked with Dirk Nowitzki on shooting. If Buzelis gets a bigger role under Tiago Splitter, could he enter the 2027 MIP conversation?

Can Nic Claxton become a high-level defensive center again for the Chicago Bulls? That's the major question Haize breaks down on today's Chicago Bulls Central.Claxton's defensive decline is real, but it may also be contextual. He went from a system that maximized his switchability and rim protection to years of changing coverages, weaker team defense, more offensive responsibility, and a significant back issue. The Bulls are betting that a healthier Claxton, placed in a cleaner role under Tiago Splitter, can recover much of his previous impact. The numbers show the drop: Claxton's blocks fell from 2.5 per game to 1.1, his block percentage dipped from 7.1% to 3.7%, defensive win shares dropped from 4.0 to 1.5, and his defensive box plus-minus slid from +2.2 to +0.6.Haize explains why Brooklyn's scheme changes, Claxton's back injury, declining roster talent, rebounding drop-off, and expanded offensive role all played a part — and why Chicago's path should be built around hybrid coverages, better point-of-attack defense, team rebounding from Caleb Wilson and Matas Buzelis, and workload management.Plus, the voicemail bag gets into Caleb Wilson's Rookie of the Year chances, Josh Giddey's All-Star odds, Matas Buzelis as a Most Improved candidate, summer league takeaways, Dailyn Swain concerns, and potential Bulls trade targets like Max Strus.

In this episode of Marrow Masters, we talk with Adam Claxton, a British acute myeloid leukemia (AML) survivor who was diagnosed in 2024 and received a transplant in December 2024. He shares what early survivorship really feels like, especially the part no one prepares you for. Once treatment slows down, there is a gap between being a patient and figuring out who you are in the world again. Adam explains that around the 100 day mark, he felt dropped out of the system and forced to ask where he fit, what had changed, and who he was becoming after transplant. We also discuss graft versus host disease (GVHD) and how Adam reframes it. He calls it the price he pays for leukemic protection. That shift in perspective helps him see chronic GVHD not only as a complication, but also as evidence that the donor cells are doing their job. He is honest that it can be difficult physically and mentally, but he chooses to view it as part of survival and a sign that his body is being protected. A major focus of the conversation is mindset. Adam talks about mindset as something we have to work on daily, just like updating a device. He believes our thoughts shape how we feel, behave, and respond, and that mental habits matter just as much as physical recovery. He also opens up about relapse, calling it an even harder battle than the initial diagnosis. What helps him move through it is staying connected to his reasons for going on, including his family, his purpose, and his desire to help more people with his voice and experience. The episode also looks at faith over fear. Adam says both fear and faith still take you through the day, so he would rather choose the path that gives him hope. That same thinking connects to what he calls the reset after transplant. He realized he could not simply return to the same life, work, and identity he had before cancer. His priorities had changed, and so had his sense of purpose. Instead of trying to recover the old version of himself, he began building a new one. On a practical level, Adam shares advice about routines, mindfulness, exercise, social media boundaries, and finding joy again in simple things. One of his best suggestions is to go back to the things you loved doing around age 12, because those activities often reconnect you with peace, play, and presence. He also speaks warmly about the importance of support, especially from his wife and children, while reminding us that caregivers carry their own emotional burden too. By the end, Adam leaves listeners with a clear message. Survivors need to be kinder to themselves, own their stories, and start sharing what they have learned. His closing affirmation says it best: we can, we will, we must. On this episode of The Just Mom Podcast, Ryan Bevins and JP Claxton dive into their organization called Fight Club (https://fightclub-us.com/), a movement created to give teens—especially young men—a safe place to talk about what they're really feeling.Fight Club was born from a simple but urgent realization: kids are struggling, and many don't know how to talk about it. What started as a response to that need has grown into something extraordinary. Ryan and JP share how Fight Club addresses the very real mental and spiritual battles kids face today. Through trust-building, peer-led conversations (with no adults in the room during sharing), these groups go deep—creating space for honesty, vulnerability, and growth.Fight Club is shifting the paradigm for young men, helping them learn how to name and express their emotions—often for the first time. Now with 29 groups and growing, the impact is undeniable. Some members have even taken the initiative to start Fight Club groups on their college campuses, carrying the mission forward.Ryan and JP also open up about their own journeys in learning how to talk about their feelings and share powerful stories that highlight just how life-changing Fight Club has been. Additionally, Fight Club for girls has launched, led by Ryan's wife.  Fight Club also has a new partnership with Kids TLC (https://www.kidstlc.org/), an inpatient mental health facility. This partnership brings Fight Club into a preventive care space, supported by two licensed therapists who attend Fight Club meetings. This conversation is hopeful, honest, and deeply needed—for parents, mentors, and anyone who cares about the next generation. IG: @fightclub_us  FB: Fight Club

Today our guest is Kendrick Claxton, Vice Principal at Central Middle School in Kansas City Public Schools. We talk about how positive school culture is built through systems that create belonging, safety, and consistent adult support. Kendrick shares how mentorship, trusted adults, and simple daily practices help students feel seen and supported. He highlights how consistency, not grand gestures, drives stronger engagement, safer schools, and better outcomes for students and staff. In this conversation, Kendrick offers clear answers to questions school leaders are asking every day: A sense of belonging is built when every student has a trusted adult and experiences consistent care. Simple systems like threshold greetings, and student feedback strengthen school culture and safety. Consistency matters more than programs because it creates psychological safety for students and staff. Strong mentorship supports higher engagement, fewer behavior incidents, and stronger academic outcomes.   Learn More About CharacterStrong:  Access FREE MTSS Curriculum Samples Request a Quote Today!
