Quadrise Chairman Andy Morrison joined Steve Darling from Proactive to deliver a business update highlighting continued momentum across the company's core initiatives, despite minor delays. Morrison reported that all commitments made during the January funding round remain on track, including the near-finalisation of a key agreement with major shipping customer MSC. He acknowledged that regulatory hurdles and shipping route adjustments had extended legal timelines but stressed the deal is “very, very close” to completion. The company is also making steady headway in Morocco and Panama, with tangible developments expected in the coming quarter. Morrison pointed to rising regulatory support—such as the International Maritime Organization's reinforced environmental targets—as a tailwind for Quadrise, particularly given growing demand for immediate marine fuel solutions like biofuels. On internal changes, Morrison addressed the recent leadership shift with former CEO Jason Miles now serving as Chief Technology Officer. He described the move as a “natural progression” in line with Quadrise's strategic acceleration. Morrison is currently stepping into expanded executive duties while the search for a new CEO is underway. Looking to Q3, Morrison emphasized that visible progress on the company's major international projects will be key for investor confidence. He also referenced broader global focus on ocean sustainability, citing Prince William's remarks at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum as reflective of growing urgency around cleaner shipping solutions—an area where Quadrise is poised to deliver impact. #proactiveinvestors #quadriseplc #aim #lse #qed #businessupdate #energytransistion #Biofuels #ShippingIndustry #SustainableEnergy #MarineFuels #MSC #MoroccoEnergy #PanamaProjects #IMO #EnergyTransition #CleanShipping

Quadrise PLC (AIM:QED) non-executive chairman Andy Morrison and CEO Jason Miles talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's latest strategic leadership update and its focus on delivering key commercial and technology goals. Morrison outlined that Miles will transition to a new role focused on advancing Quadrise's core technologies and overseeing trial programmes, particularly those involving MSC and Cargill. Morrison stated, “We all believe the time for Quadrise PLC is now. We need to get on with it to deliver our technology and play our role in the decarbonization of shipping and the heavy industry sectors that we serve.” He explained that the change follows successful fundraising efforts in January and milestone achievements across core areas of the business. The search for a new CEO will now begin, with Morrison temporarily increasing his involvement to support the transition. Miles said his new role, effective 1st June, would allow him to focus more on the company's bioMSAR technology and extend its IP portfolio. He emphasised the importance of the marine sector trials and commercial scale-up of their fuels. Quadrise is also strengthening its team with new appointments to build sector-specific expertise. It was a jazzalicious show featuring the sounds of Web Web, Jason Miles, David Murray, Theo Croker, and a set of classic Blue Note albums! This program has been edited from the original broadcast.
I'm still getting over the Prime Minister saying if people don't like the food provided by the school lunch programme, they should make a marmite sandwich. And quite rightly, his comments are being described by the principal of a school in Kaiapoi as “absolutely disgraceful”. And I couldn't agree more. Jason Miles is the principal of Kaiapoi North School and he's bang on – that talk from the PM was disgraceful. And he says it just shows that Christopher Luxon has had a gutsful of the school lunches thing. He says: "He (the PM) is out of touch with the current inequities that didn't exist in his time." Jason Miles is saying what we all know – that kids can't learn when they're hungry because they are easily distracted, and they get restless. He says: “A healthy, nutritious, tasty lunch could be the only substantial meal that child gets for the whole day and a marmite sandwich and an apple is probably ok some days, but we want to know we are going to get a consistently, healthy nutritious meal for our children so they can learn." And that's the point here. We can bang on all we like about us going to school when we were kids with just a marmite sandwich - maybe a bit fancy on it some days with a piece of lettuce as well. Or sandwiches with luncheon in them. And yes, we did just fine. Just like Christopher Luxon did. But here's the difference - we went to school in the morning with some breakfast in our belly and we went home at night to an evening meal. But that seems to be lost on the Prime Minister. Which is why this principal from Kaiapoi North School is saying today that Christopher Luxon's appalling comments show just how out of touch he is. Last night, this thing came through on my social media feed and it was a video the “How to Dad” guy, Jordan Watson was fronting. It was promoting KidsCan and he was reading letters that teachers had sent-in talking about poverty in their schools. One of them talked about two siblings at the school and how each of them only turned up every second day, and the teacher got a bit sick of that and went to have a word with one of them. And the kid explained that they had to share shoes, and it was his turn to wear the shoes that day and that's why he was at school and his sibling wasn't. That's the world that people like this Kaiapoi North School principal knows about. And I know the Prime Minister will say he knows about it too, but I don't think he does. He's out of touch. Maybe he hasn't heard what happened at that school in Murchison last week. The lunches arrived and they were so hot that the plastic had melted, and it wasn't until the kids had been eating for a bit that they realised they'd been eating plastic. How can he tell those kids to eat a marmite sandwich if they don't like it? No wonder Education Minister Erica Stanford wants and explanation from Associate Minister David Seymour. She must have had her head in her hands when she heard the boss banging on about marmite sandwiches on Newstalk ZB yesterday morning and then coming out with the same nonsense in parliament. It was disgraceful and shows that, when it comes down to it, the PM has no idea what life is really like for some kids in our country. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A Former Frontline Agent's Career Journey Contributes to a Powerful Active Learning Approach at iQor In this episode of iQor's CX Labs Digitally Irresistible podcast, Jason Miles, director of active learning design and development at iQor, sheds light on the transformative impact of active learning in training and development. Jason's active learning methodologies draw from his wealth of experience in the BPO industry and his in-depth knowledge of learning and development thought leadership. His journey began as a frontline agent which evolved into his career in training, facilitation, and instructional design, ultimately leading to his current role at iQor as director of active learning design and development. In this episode, we dive deeper into the concept of active learning, its role in successfully training employees at iQor, and the remarkable results it has produced, including improved performance and customer satisfaction. Jason also previews upcoming active learning programs at iQor, shaping the CX landscape, driving success for the brands we support, and creating smiles for their customers. What is Active Learning? Active learning is an instructional design approach that actively engages individuals in their own learning process. Shifting away from traditional training methods in which learners passively receive knowledge, active learning involves a variety of activities to encourage engagement, understanding, and retention. Jason explains how active learning strategies encourage employee participation, practice, and a real application of knowledge to foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Instead of listening to an instructor at the front of the room presenting PowerPoint slides, learners in active learning settings enjoy opportunities to engage with one another and discuss and apply the concepts they've learned. A large part of this process includes interactive tasks, reflection, and feedback to continually improve the experience. Active Learning Strategies at iQor At iQor, active learning forms the foundation of our employee training and development experiences. This pedagogical approach stems from active learning research showing that adults (and anyone really!) learn most effectively when engaged in meaningful tasks. All aspects of the learning experience and its outcomes improve when learners receive the right resources to advance their understanding along with opportunities to practice, fail, learn, and improve in a supportive setting. This trial-and-error process enables employees to learn from experience. iQor also provides ample opportunities for questions and feedback from experts and peers, an experience that breaks with the norm and has proven essential in creating meaningful and productive traning experiences . In addition, iQor's active learning approach emphasizes the importance of incorporating time for reflection, which is often overlooked in traditional training programs. By thinking about what they're learning and assessing what they did well and what they can improve, trainees further advance their understanding and performance. “Reflection is actually one of the most important things that we're adding, because very rarely do you get an opportunity in training to think about what you're learning, and that's where the actual learning happens.” - iQor Director of Active Learning Design and Development Jason Miles Active Learning Creates Success and Smiles The success story of active learning at iQor is exemplified in the transformative results it has produced. Jason's team led a redesign of training for a major retail customer, incorporating active learning techniques. The impact was staggering, with zero attrition, 100% certification, and remarkable performance post-training. The group produced consistent improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs), including a surge in customer satisfaction scores (CSAT), net promoter scores (NPS), and first-call resolution rates. The tangible impact of active learning on business outcomes underscores its vital role in driving employee performance and elevating customer experiences. Expanding Active Learning Initiatives Building on the success of active learning with training facilitators, iQor is poised to expand its active learning initiatives. In a forward-looking move, iQor plans to roll out a broader active learning design and development program to train new content developers and instructional designers in the art of crafting training content aligned with active learning principles. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development, iQor is paving the way for sustained performance excellence. Active Learning as a Catalyst for Organizational Growth and Excellence The insights Jason brought to our conversation offer a compelling narrative of the power of active learning in transforming employee training and its undeniable impact on business success. Through a commitment to active learning, iQor exemplifies how innovative training methodologies can drive tangible results, boost employee engagement, and deliver irresistible customer experiences that create smiles. Through our Symphony [AI]TM ecosystem, iQor further drives excellent employee experiences by redefining the employee lifecycle, seamlessly blending automation and human capabilities. This innovative approach—spanning talent acquisition, training and development, and performance excellence—underscores iQor's commitment to nurturing a highly efficient, compliant, and satisfied workforce. As organizations navigate an evolving landscape and AI innovations, embracing active learning can be the key to unlocking the full potential of their workforce and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Jason leads us through scripture to understand how 'tent-making' supports this model while Jan points out how volunteering has touched her life and the lives of others in the organization. The conversation includes examples of how God has prepared us with talents and vocational experiences that we can bring to the ministry. Are you a retiree looking for ways to apply your experiences that will really make a difference? We would love to hear from you.
SEO, in its broadest sense, is a very powerful and important source of traffic for any ecommerce operator. But Amazon SEO – or “Amazon keyword ranking” – is rightly more than important – it's almost an obsession of any focussed ecommerce operator who sells on Amazon. Getting your product listing to rank on Amazon for powerful keywords is indeed incredibly important. Get it wrong and it pretty much dooms your product to either low sales or fair sales but no profit (frankly mostly it's a loss but I don't want to depress you too much!) Get it right and it drives not only sales and revenue but – more importantly – profitable sales and healthy cashflow. But there are a quite a few myths and some misconceptions around this topic. Above all, I feel there is a n unhealthy focus on hacks and trying to fool the algorithm, rather than taking a more strategic approach. Also, cutting Amazon SEO off from other business decision – like market choice, cost structure and optimising for conversion – is not only mediocre thinking, it isn't even possible with Amazon SEO. So a holistic approach that includes market choice and conversion optimising is – in my opinion – the only effective approach to Amazon SEO. So today we are going to dive into this topic. As with our recent episode on conversion, the aim is to help you increase your profits as you work to increase your sales What you'll learn What SEO means What kind of business model Amazon SEO is important for Why Amazon SEO is critical for all Amazon sellers The 3-way tension at the heart of SEO on all platforms How to get started with Amazon SEO Why conversions are inseparable from SEO on Amazon The 3 essential digital marketing metrics for all SEO (across all platforms) How those metrics show up on Amazon and what to do about them How budget ties into Amazon SEO How to evaluate if a keyword is worth trying to rank for How long-tail keywords factor into Amazon SEO

Inflation is a subject often argued about by two sets of people whose opinions are at best limited in trust: economists (practitioners of the so-called “dismal science”) and STOCK market pundits on TV. It would lovely to be able to focus on running our ecommerce businesses undisturbed by seeming economic theory. Sadly, in the real world, inflation is hitting ecommerce leaders right now, very hard and every day. If we hope this all just goes away, we leave ourselves vulnerable to whatever comes next. As true business leaders, we need to see the waves coming and position our businesses to ride the wave, not get swamped! In this special 2-part episode we break-down how inflation is impacting e-commerce and give listeners 10 things they can proactively do to manage this challenging situation. You'll Learn: How inflation is impacting e-commerce sellers. The impact of inflation on the ‘demand side' of the ecommerce equation. The impact of inflation on the ‘supply side' of ecommerce. 10 things you can do to proactively manage inflation in your e-commerce business.

I was looking forward to chatting with Rebecca, especially about her new debut album 'Love Life Choices' - Although having listened to her singing and knowing some of her musical family histories. It becomes all apparent why she sounds so polished for her age. Having active encouragement from an uncle - Steve Angel the drummer who played with Jimi Hendrix. Plus, Rebecca's mom and dad, Linda and Dennis Angel, also musical in their own right actively encouraged her to pursue he dreams of being a professional singer. You then connect this all with a musical legend producer and mentor - Jason Miles and it all makes sense. Prior to this debut album, Rebecca has a growing list of major music accolades/awards to her credit. Winning New Artist Breakout Single in 2020 with the 'For What It's Worth' Love Life Choices features a roll call of some of today's most versatile, intuitive players, who as an ensemble brings out Rebecca's greatest strengths.
