Another 5 Years of Avenue Red mix... another Avenue Red legend! For this instalment we present an extended 3-hour live session from Swiss deep boss Alessandro Crimi. All fans of Avenue Red will know Alessandro well, as he has touched our souls with his expertly crafted mixes loaded with unforgettable vibes and deepness. The Waehlscheibe label boss was going to do a special studio mix for this one, however a smoked-out live gig in his hometown of St. Gallen last weekend was recorded and after a listen through, we decided that it fitted the bill nicely. Here master Crimi delivers a crazy eclectic mix of deep, tripped out lounge lizard tracks, which oozes into some of the most delicious deep house and electro ever produced, then finished with a smattering of liquid drum & bass tracks. "I didn't expect this mix to be used for a proper podcast... I only recorded it so that I had something fresh to listen to, like a playlist of some of my favourites in my collection. After a salubrious pause in our output, the Avenue Red Podcast resumes forward motion with the second installment in the series from one of our favourite DJ's and producers - Alessandro Crimi. Avenue Red podcast 007 is an all-vinly mix of deep dubby techno from Gavin Marks who runs the Chicago-based MOSHItaka label, which has just had it's first vinyl release in 2013 with the sublimely accomplished Road To River EP from Moscow dub techno artist Doyeq. MOSHItaka is also a well established podcast with the MOSHImix series, which has featured the talents of well-respected names in the dub techno/deep techno scene including Martin Schulte, Anton Kubikov, Alessandro Crimi (who did our previous episode) and Sven Laux to name a few. A series that has got our attention for sure! Based in the city of St. Gallen, high up amid the Alps of eastern Switzerland, Austrian-born Alessandro Crimi delivers a 1-hour transmission of the kind of techno you'd imagine more likely to have eminated from somewhere in the depths of the Mariana Trench in an all-vinyl mix of exquisite taste. With his distinctive sound of dub-infused house and techno that is rich in spacey pads, echoey chords, sinuous melodic structures and discerning beats, he is often found skirting along the territorial borders of quintessential Dub Techno stylings. Alessandro has made a name for himself with his strong productions and remixes and also his gigs at prestigious venues including: Harry Klein Club in Munich; Club Home in Amsterdam; Rohstofflager in Zurich and Macarena Club in Barcelona, to name a few. He is hailed as a true specialist for playing warm-up sets, which requires a delicate touch and a good mind for developing a pathway through records to build the energy levels steadily.
