Kris Gunnars is the founder and ex-CEO of the world's most trafficked nutrition site Authority Nutrition. He went on to sell that website to Healthline.com, which then became the world's biggest nutrition site. Kris now dedicates his time to investing the handsome returns from the acquisition and runs Stockanalysis.com where he shares the results of his research and learning. In this conversation, we talk about the personality traits and skillset needed to build a successful authority site. We also go through some of the challenges faced by website owners and how to know when to sell. Both Kris and Jean agree that there is a lifecycle that one goes through when owning an authority site, and it's important to know at what stage your business is at in order to have the right expectations and select the appropriate strategy, which might even be that of selling, as in Kris' case. Big transitions are never easy, and we discuss how Kris' life changed after the financially life-changing sale of his site to Healthline. If you want to learn how one person with the right focus and perseverance can build a hugely successful internet business make sure you don't miss this episode. Links Stockanalysis.com

Propane Picks It’s that time of the week again where we sift through the fitness world and pick out top 10 favourite pieces for your reading, viewing and listening pleasure. If you’d like to be considered for us to include you on this list OR if you’d like to write for us, please send an email to admin@propanefitness.com. Anyway, on with the list! Our number 1 pick this week, also mentioned by Mike on the podcast is: Individual Differences: The Most Important Consideration for Your Fitness Results that Science Doesn’t Tell You by James Krieger and Bret Contreras Bret introduces the article as follows: The idea for this article was sparked last year when James and I presented together in the UK at the Personal Trainer Collective Conference along with Brad Schoenfeld and Alan Aragon. At that time, I had done a ton of research on the genetic differences pertaining to fitness outcomes, but I hadn’t yet seen a lot of data reporting individual differences. James’ presentation was filled with graphs depicting the stark differences in individual results, and it dawned on me that this is probably the most important aspect of science that fails to be reported. We hope that in time it becomes standard practice to report individual data, but in the meantime, we wish to impress upon you that research typically only reports means, which may or may not apply to you. The rest of the list is pretty awesome too!
