This Christmas, are you looking for meaning but don't know where to find it; reaching out, but coming up empty? This Christmas, does Jesus just feel off, “away in a manger”? What if you're actually that manger, and this Christmas, Jesus has come to dwell in you? What if the Creator of All Things has really arrived to be the defining love story of your life? What if you're the soil in which Jesus longs to yield one-hundred-fold? If the Emmanuel you've been waiting for can't be close enough until He's by your side, near to you, close to you, blessing you, holding you, and preparing you to live with Him forever, then buckle up with Eleanor, Brenda, and Randy and prepare yourself to start putting joy in your world for your Savior reigns.
Merry Christmas. Jesus loves you

Advent Week 3 - Away in a Manger

Week 2 of the series Songs for the Season. A Message by Max Lucado .
When the God of the universe was born into the world, it was not in an ivory tower somewhere far from the broken world, but instead, it was right in the middle of a messy stable and a world that needed a Savior. This song reminds us that God is born to each of us, no matter who we are or where we come from.
When we hear “Away in a manger” we think of a little baby, asleep with his mother and father in a stable. But the lyrics to this carol point out something we often miss about the baby Jesus, something critical. He is the little LORD Jesus. When someone is Lord, that means they are ruler, and it means we are called to surrender and submit to them. As we celebrate Christmas this year, let's take the time to remind ourselves that we must submit to the lordship of Jesus if we are going to know life to the fullest.
Pastor Ryan talks about the carol Away in a Manger, the author unknown but the beauty of the lyrics is not.

How historically and biblically accurate are some of our classic Christmas carols? Pastor Mike strips away the music as we examine the lyrics of some of our favorite songs. First up: how often do we think about the environment in which Jesus was born? "Away in a Manger" isn't a picture-perfect nativity scene or Hallmark moment. Instead, through its historical context, we see the profound impact of what it really means to be born in a manger.
