Pastor Silvia Wang preaches on John 21:15-19 on April 21st, 2024.
As we continue our closer look at Colossians 3:12-14, we turn our attention this week to two closely intertwined qualities, patience and forbearance. As we see both of these in the life of Jesus, we must also learn to demonstrate them ourselves, especially as it regards our brethren. Speaker: Justin P. Sivley
Ephesians 4:1-2 - I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentlest, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.

In this episode, Jason Kovacs and Christie Lacy, have a meaningful conversation highlighting the crucial role that patience, perseverance, proximity and pain play in bearing with others. They delve deeper into these elements and explore why we struggle to bear with our brothers and sisters as well as highlight the importance of the slow, patient work and presence of the Holy Spirit as we are transformed together. As a church, we are the body of Jesus. When people see us individually or collectively, they should see Jesus. We should be able to say to people, if you want to see Jesus, look at us. We are His body. Often though, we do not look like Him but instead look like the rest of the world in our values, behaviors, and attitudes. As the church, we are called by God to oneness; that is one Body of Jesus. To make oneness possible, we must be humble, gentle, and patient with one another. We all need each other. We can't grow up alone. We can only become the fullness of Christ together with God's help. It's not always easy, or pretty if we're honest. But we are growing up into something glorious, something eternal, something more like Jesus. Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/4895963922.10.02

Love includes putting up with others when they act in a way that annoys you. We are all different even if we are all Christians, and we need to work out a way to bear with one another in order to get along.
This week, we concluded our series, Hesed in Community. Hesed is the Hebrew word which can be translated as the tangible intersection of love, commitment, and generosity. Kellye Fabian-Story helped us consider how we might show hesed to those we find difficult. A tax-deductible gift can be given to The Practice Church here. In Romans 14 Paul explains that we are to live in the eyes of our master while bearing with one another in love
Pastor Darrell Jones breaks down Romans 15:1-2 this morning.
What if, instead of leaving when people annoy us or hurt us, we stay? In a world of cancel culture mixed with hyper-individualism, the temptation for each of us is simply to leave community, a family, or a marriage, instead of doing the harder work of reconciliation. We are not speaking about abusive or dangerous behaviour, but rather, the day-to-day mess of marriage, family and a church family.
In episode 10, we continue the study of resolving conflict God's way. We'll be discussing bearing with one another in love and being able to appreciate that God has made each person different. We will be covering four topics in this series about “Bearing With One Another in Love” including: The Ability to Recognize and Appreciate that God has made each Person Different, Open-Handed vs Closed-Handed Issues, The Weaker Brother vs the Stronger Brother, and The Ability to put up with Idiosyncrasies/or issues and Demonstrate Biblical Love. As Christians, we want to mature and recognize that the Lord has made all of us different. There is a lot about differences among Christians in the book of 1 Corinthians. God has given us different abilities, skills, gifts, ministries, interests, passions, all within the context of Christianity. All believers are to “bear with one another in love.” Subscribe & Review in iTunes Are you a subscriber?
