Many years ago, Waylon came across a uniquely simple, yun-ful watch display in an outdoor mall in LA. One was black, one white, both with wooden cases. He fell in love not only with the simple elegance, but the values—these are just about the only watches entirely Made in the USA, these days. Waylon bought a Weiss watch a year later, an early “adult” purchase. Recently, Waylon and Cameron Weiss, founder of Weiss Watch Company, speak about the sustainability of mechanical watches, how they can keep us in the present moment, and considerate about how we use our time; how a watch is often an heirloom item, and what that means. “A watch, like any thing, can be ethically-crafted & sourced, an heirloom to pass on to a loved one. Few are. Weiss is.” ~ Waylon Lewis We discuss ethical, eco, made-in-the-USA craft, which in many ways is a dying thing. Subscribers get the full conversation.

Spike and Zuckerman discuss Porsche's new electric hypercar, the Mission X; the 24 Hours of Le Mans; new California laws combating street takeovers; and a fake vintage Speedmaster watch scheme allegedly perpetrated by 3 Omega employees. Then, Cameron Weiss from Weiss Watch Company is on to discuss what constitutes 'Made in the USA' American watchmaking.
Cameron Weiss is an American watch maker- formerly of AP and Vacheron Constantin- and currently the owner of Weiss Watch Company in Nashville, TN. In the runup to recording, we discovered that cohost Matt had recently acquired a Weiss "Agave dial" LE, and that Cameron had recently acquired an old Defender with a very cool backstory. We thought it'd be a great time to catch up with Cameron ( he'd been with us before, on episode 11 ) to debrief Matt's new watch and Cam's recent overlanding adventures in Sonora Mexico. We also managed to learn more about a whole class of agave spirits that are unknown to many outside of rural Mexico. This is a fun one! Thanks for listening.

Season 2 of the Watch & Listen Podcast is Back! Meet our new host Mike Senderovich as he and Cameron Weiss podcast from their new spot in Cameron's workshop. In this first episode back you will get to know Mike and his collection, as well as see where Cameron's collection stands these days.
This week’s guest is master watchmaker Cameron Weiss - the man behind Weiss Watch Company based just outside of Los Angeles. His upbringing, education, and work experience have taken him all over the United States as well as to Europe, but he settled in California having launched his watch company to bring back a larger focus on American made watch brands. We go into how he got his start in the industry, what his end game is and how he’s gone from sourcing other manufacturers movements to now even providing parts for some of the largest watch groups in Switzerland! Cameron and I actually first met a couple years ago at Luftegkuhlt - the air cooled Porsche-focused car event and have been loosely in touch ever since, so it was great to sit down for our chat. We really go into the behind the scenes of his business as well as a bit of car talk - both old and new. If you’re into watches, and want a unique perspective into what goes on surrounding the industry, I think you’re going to dig this one. And even if you aren’t, you might just learn something anyway. I know I did. Today is another Handmade Edition of Let There Be Talk with my guest Cameron Weiss owner of the great WEISS WATCH COMPANY. Cameron makes handmade watches right here in Los Angeles. This mans story is incredible. Cameron fell in love with watches at a young age when his parents bought him his first Swatch Watch. Little did he know back then that he would turn his passion into a full on successful business. check out his website https://weisswatchcompany.com and follow him on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/weisswatchcompany/ Make sure you leave a review and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and YouTube.
As a product founder, I’m fascinated by the process of physically producing goods. I had the privilege of touring Weiss Watch Company’s headquarters last year and cannot believe the process it takes to actually make a watch. Setting Weiss apart from virtually everyone else is they actually make everything here in the United States. Cameron received years long training as a watchmaker and has built a facility that machines all their own parts. He and his wife are building something truly extraordinary right here in the US. Each watch receives over 80 hours of handmade love. My wife got me my first Weiss Watch last year to celebrate Mizzen+Main’s five year company anniversary that I wear it with so much pride, not just as a gift from the most important person in my life, but as a piece of remarkable craftsmanship! Say howdy to Cameron on Instagram @cameronmweiss and give Weiss a follow at @WeissWatchCompany. Get a timepiece for yourself if you want hand crafted American glory adorning your wrist!
Matt Farah is a seasoned automotive journalist and watch aficionado. Besides being an incredibly nice guy, he is also one of the most prolific automotive YouTube stars on the planet with his One Take video series and, of course, he is the man behind "The Smoking Tire" podcast. With his One Take series recently coming to an end, Matt is moving into a new venture - his new "Watch and Listen" podcast with CarStories guest alum Cameron Weiss. James enjoyed the ability to relax with Matt thanks to his heated leather seats before popping and crackling through the hills of Malibu in his Mountune Ford Focus RS.
Cameron Weiss developed his affinity for timepieces back when he was a young child. In 2010, Cameron attended an apprentice-style program at the Nicholas G. Hayek Watchmaking School in Miami with a Swiss curriculum. The ten years of passion drove him to fine-tune his designs and goals before launching Weiss watches in June 2013. On this episode we feature a special guest Jules who was kind enough to let James sit in the front seat as the trio took to the road in Cameron's 1959 Volkswagen Beetle for a good talk about watches, travel and the reliability of classic British vehicles.
Welcome to the first episode of Watch and Listen! In this first episode, we get a few things out of the way: What is this show going to be about? Who are Matt Farah and Cameron Weiss, and why should we watch or listen to them talk about watches every week? The two hosts take us through what got them into watches, and in Cameron's case, watchmaking, and tell that story using their personal collections of watches. On Time is back! And for our first episode of 2018 we're talking to none other than Cameron Weiss of Weiss Watch Company. We talk about the challenges of building a watch company and what is in store for Weiss Watch Co.
Million-dollar watches, World War II's role in watchmaking, and how much caffeine a watchmaker drinks. Twenty-something horologist Cameron Weiss also dishes about mechanical vs. quartz, little tiny springs, patience, S-Town and the history of timekeeping. Also we address rap lyrics and some existential boolsheet. Follow us at twitter.com/ologiespod or Instagram.com/ologies T-shirts, mugs, etc. at www.ologiesmerch.com For more info on Cameron's watches at www.weisswatchcompany.com Music by Nick Thorburn Support the show.
Watchmaker Cameron Weiss, of Weiss Watch Company, comes by to explain how he built his Mercedes 4x4, why he loves driving his 1959 Beetle, and everything you want to know about watches: how they were made last century, how they make them now, wy some cost as much as a house, and what you should buy if you have $50, or $500,000. It's an incredible kind of engineering that parallels the car world clearly. Sitting in with us again is Nic Cuarta, of Bee Line Coffee.
Michael Sam's agent, Cameron Weiss, joined us on The Morning Blitz to discuss his client's Pro Day and what this whole experience has been like for him.
