Few organizations have inspired as much speculation, legend, and conspiracy as the Knights Templar. Founded in the early 12th century as warrior monks sworn to protect Christian pilgrims, they quickly amassed incredible wealth, power, and influence—only to be violently suppressed in one of history's most infamous betrayals. But did the Templars truly vanish, or did they retreat into the shadows, guarding secrets too dangerous for the world to know? In this episode, we'll delve into the unsolved mysteries surrounding the Templars—whispers of hidden treasure, secret rituals, lost knowledge, and their possible connection to the Holy Grail. Were they the keepers of arcane wisdom? Did they escape their destruction, evolving into secret societies that still operate today? Or was their downfall merely the result of political greed? Join me as we uncover the enigmatic legacy of the Knights Templar and the shadows they still cast on history. We keep digging into Chris HOJ's MJ 1 of 1 dilemma, but with a new angle: why talk about it publicly at all? Chris explains he's not trying to broadcast to the whole world, he's thinking out loud in a tight community, building clarity through dialogue, and inviting outside lenses that can change how he sees the problem. Joe pushes the biggest question of all: after the maneuver is done, do you actually love the card, or do you love the concept? Chris admits the Jordan 90s 1 of 1 project is new since June 2025, and this card was not something he was hunting. The auction forced the decision. He also drops a key distinction: this is “rare and obscure” more than “rare and iconic,” which makes it feel risky from a market standpoint even if it matters deeply to him. We run through chat questions that cut right to the psychology: happiness vs regret, “best” vs “rarest,” the autograph angle, and whether the joy gap matches the value gap. The community also debates prudence and optionality, with the clearest takeaway being that you can “afford” something in card capital while still wondering if you can mentally afford the consequences. Then we pivot to the hobby experience itself: Chris recaps the San Diego Front Row Card Show, including the sports vs TCG mix and a smart “zag” on why those tables can actually speed up the walk. Josh checks in from the Dallas Card Show with pickups and consignments. Finally, Chris introduces a new topic that came directly from Jonathan's presence on the show: the tradeoff between being a public collector and a private collector. Does visibility help you build a network, buy cards, and sell cards? Does it also expose you, influence what you collect, and create “flex points” that shape your decisions? We start unpacking what you gain, what you lose, and how discovery changes if you are lurking versus not participating at all. In this part, we cover: Why Chris goes public with the dilemma and how dialogue changes decisions “Do you love the card or the concept?” and the risk of a new collecting lane Rare and obscure vs rare and iconic, and why that matters Optionality: 100 cards vs 1 card and the tradeoffs of going all in San Diego Front Row Card Show recap and sports vs TCG reality Josh's Dallas Card Show notes and consignments New topic: public collector vs private collector and what it changes Subscribe to Sports Cards Live on YouTube so you catch the live show every week Follow @jlee_sportscardslive on Instagram for clips, updates, and behind the scenes If you're watching on YouTube, hit like and drop a comment: would you go public with a hobby dilemma like this? Jace and Rocky break down another Comic Boom! / Comic Source DC Spotlight for the week of January 21, 2026, with only seven single issues on the slate but a massive week for reprints and collected editions—including major Absolute line reprints like Absolute Batman #1 10th printing and Absolute Batman Annual #1 2nd printing, plus facsimiles such as Batman #676 and Superman #75, and a packed shelf of collected editions ranging from Batman: Gotham by Gaslight Compact Comics to DC's Finest: Doom Patrol, Green Lantern by Robert Venditti Omnibus Vol. 2, The Invisibles Compendium, New History of the DCU, Absolute Promethea Vol. 2, Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, and Young Justice Omnibus Vol. 2. On the single-issue side, Batman/Superman: World's Finest #47 wraps up the Absorbicon chaos with the Joker/Luthor fusion, the world briefly losing knowledge, and a lingering "Fusion" mystery locked away in the Fortress of Solitude; DC KO: Green Lantern – Galactic Slam #1 becomes the week's standout as Jeremy Adams brings Kyle Rayner into WAM's multiversal wrestling spectacle, delivers Omega Bam Man's origin, and ties the concept directly into Darkseid and the DC KO stakes; Titans #31 splits focus between Donna Troy and Arsenal battling Grail on Earth and Nightwing/Raven's Gemworld complications as Terra turns opportunistic; Superman Unlimited #9 launches "Die Laughing" with a new, more hands-on Prankster targeting Perry White and Superman leveraging Clark Kent's reporting to bait the killer into exposing himself, while also planting Mxyzptlk-related seeds; Catwoman #83 continues Selina's Europe-set intrigue with Falcone connections and Court of Owls pressure as the run edges toward a more familiar Gotham-facing direction; Nightwing #134 keeps Dick in the Fifth Dimension facing the Zanni while real-world consequences escalate, including damage that reverberates back to Blüdhaven; and Wonder Woman #29 begins a two-part "The Village" detour to Themyscira with striking Jeff Spokes visuals and Strife's arrival setting the hook for what comes next, before both hosts give their rankings with Galactic Slam taking the top spot.

We wrap Jonathan's debut, run through some of the best chat comments from the “house of slabs” discussion, and one line stops the show: “A PSA 10 transforms a sports card into a financial instrument.” From there, the conversation sharpens into what grading really does, how speed impacts accuracy, and why some collectors are starting to sober up from slab worship. Jonathan gets a proper community welcome and we bring on Chris HOJ, followed by Josh Adams. Then the episode pivots hard into a collector dilemma that hits every nerve in the hobby: a major Michael Jordan 90s 1 of 1 is headed to auction, and Chris is considering a seismic consolidation to chase it. We debate what you gain, what you lose, and whether “nuking” a carefully curated collection is ever worth one apex card. Jeremy argues the memories, stories, and future content pipeline matter more than the trophy. Josh says do it and never look back. Joe lands in the middle: the 1 of 1 stamp matters, it's probably financially defensible, but you still need a number and a plan because deeper pockets exist. Chris explains the real point of talking it out: dialogue changes how you see everything, and collectors make versions of this decision every day, including the decision to do nothing. In this part, we cover: The chat's best lines on grading, consistency, and “too big to fail” thinking “PSA 10 as a financial instrument” and why that framing is so accurate Jonathan's official welcome into the community Chris HOJ and Josh Adams join, and the MJ 1 of 1 auction dilemma kicks off One card vs a whole collection, and what “replaceable” really means Consolidation as sacrifice, strategy, and identity, not just money Why talking it out changes decisions, and why inaction is still a decision Follow Sports Cards Live on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen Subscribe to Sports Cards Live on YouTube for full episodes and live shows Leave a rating and review to help more collectors find the show Drop a comment: would you consolidate your collection for one apex grail, or never? R.B. Russell, author and founder of Tartarus Press, takes us on a deep dive into the life and works of Welsh author and mystic Arthur Machen. Ray traces the religious life of Machen, his involvement with the occult society the Golden Dawn, and his friendship with famed occultist A.E. Waite. Ray details Machen's fascination with the esoteric symbolism of the Grail mythology; his role in originating and spreading the supernatural, urban myth of the Bowman; and impact of his notorious horror-fantasy novella ”The Great God Pan”. Every year, Eddy and I do a Christmas episode, but this one turned into something way bigger than we expected. We ended up going deep on what we're calling our grail gear. The sticks, cymbals, snares, and full drum kits that shaped us, inspired us, and flat-out made us fall in love with the drums in the first place. From Joey Jordison's blood-red sticks and Dave Weckl hero worship, to wild discontinued cymbals, one-of-a-kind snares, and the drum kits that literally made us want to play, this episode is pure nostalgia mixed with real perspective on how gear influences creativity.Along the way, we talk about why change feels uncomfortable (even when it's good), how our brains resist new ideas, and why, when it's healthy, obsession often pushes us to practice more, play more, and grow. This episode is for anyone who remembers staring at drum catalogs, trusting the drum shop guy, saving every dollar, and dreaming big. It's a Christmas special, a gear episode, and a reminder of why we started doing this in the first place. A Merry Happy Christmas to you all - Mike JSupport the show

Galahad and the Grail is Book 1 of Merlin’s Isle, Malcolm Guite’s retelling of the King Arthur legends in ballad form. It releases in March of 2026. In the prelude to Galahad and the Grail, a voice shimmering in the morning air says: Poet, take up the tale–Take up the tale the land still keeps,In earth and water magic sleeps,The dryad sighs, the naiad weeps,But you can lift the veil. Malcolm has taken up a very old tale and lifted the veil on stories that have lingered in the traditions of the British Isles longer than the English language itself. Scholar and teacher Junius Johnson is taking up the tale in another way. Starting in January 2026, Junius is teaching a 20-week online class on the King Arthur legend. He describes the class as a chance to see for yourself why this story has fascinated the imagination for so many centuries. In this episode, Malcolm, Junius talk with Jonathan Rogers about how King Arthur rode into their lives, and what these stories have meant to them. Multi cancer detection tests or MCDs can detect many cancers through a simple blood test. Many detect fragments of cancerous DNA that have broken off a tumour and are circulating in the blood. They can often then identify where the cancer may be. The NHS is currently involved in the words largest trial of one such test. The Galleri test is made by US firm Grail and the company says its mission is to detect cancer early when it can be cured. Heavyweight investors include Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. More than 140,000 volunteers took part in the trial and the results will be known next year. If successful, the test may be rolled out further. File on 4 Investigates looks at how effective such tests are and whether the trial will show it can save lives. Medical journalist Deb Cohen speaks to one woman whose cancer was found by the test and successfully treated. But she also hears from firefighters in America - where it's available to the public - who say it missed some cancers and some people who got a positive result were found not to have the disease after undergoing diagnostic procedures - a so called false positive. With many hospitals trusts missing cancer treatment targets, what is the best way forward for the NHS to improve outcomes Reporter: Deb Cohen Producer: Paul Grant Technical producer: Craig Boardman Production co-ordinator: Tim Fernley Editor: Tara McDermott

(00:00:00) Cosmic Beginnings and Stellar Discoveries: Unveiling the First Stars and Secrets of the Moon (00:00:47) Have astronomers finally seen the universe's first stars (00:04:06) Hidden secrets about the Moon and the asteroid Vesta (00:10:45) Euclid peers deep into a stellar nursery full of baby stars (00:16:05) The Science Report (00:18:09) Skeptics guide to flat earthers falling flat on their face again In this episode of SpaceTime, we uncover groundbreaking findings that could reshape our understanding of the universe's early stars, the Moon's hidden secrets, and the asteroid Vesta's internal structure.First Stars DetectedAstronomers may have finally glimpsed the universe's first stars, known as Population 3 stars, thanks to observations from NASA's Webb Space Telescope. These luminous giants, formed just 200 million years after the Big Bang, are believed to have ended the cosmic dark ages and initiated the epoch of reionisation. The episode delves into the significance of these findings, which suggest that these stars were formed in small clusters and exhibit extremely low metallicity, challenging previous theories about the early universe.Secrets of the Moon RevealedTwo NASA studies have provided fascinating insights into the Moon's internal structure through advanced gravity modelling. By analysing data from the GRAIL mission, researchers have created the most detailed gravitational map of the Moon to date, revealing variations linked to tidal deformation. This research offers clues about the Moon's geological history and volcanic activity, particularly highlighting differences between the near and far sides of the Moon.New Insights into Asteroid VestaIn a parallel study, scientists examined the asteroid Vesta's structure using data from NASA's Dawn spacecraft. Contrary to earlier beliefs of a layered interior, new measurements suggest Vesta may have a more uniform composition, with only a small core, if any. This revelation challenges long-held assumptions about the formation and evolution of this ancient asteroid.Euclid Space Telescope's Stellar Nursery ObservationsThe European Space Agency's Euclid Space Telescope has peered into the dark cloud LDN 1641, uncovering a vibrant stellar nursery filled with young stars. This segment discusses the significance of Euclid's observations, which not only aid in fine-tuning the telescope's capabilities but also contribute to our understanding of star formation and the cosmos.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesAstrophysical Journal LettersNatureBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-your-guide-to-space-astronomy--2458531/support.

What determines the meaning of a grail watch? Is it a horological equivalent of the legendary Holy Grail, a symbolic object of spiritual and mystical perfection sought after by such luminaries as King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table, the wacky team at Monty Python, and all the way to fearless adventurer Indiana Jones? Or is it simply a glorified wishlist item, shaped by hype, heritage, and the ever-shifting tides of taste? In this episode, Parm and Andy explore the grail's many forms and guises: from auction desirables and independent watch heroes, to deeply personal and emotionally charged obsessions that defy mainstream logic.Taking the views of friends and listeners to heat up the conversation, the boys then move to their own personal opinions, where this wicked debate becomes a reflective analysis of what they believe a grail watch means to them today. Has this changed compared to when their love for the hobby began? Is it really one masterpiece that completes a collection, or is it an elusive moving target, always just out of reach? Or can it be easier to achieve than you'd first think? Our horologically charged duo unpack the psychology behind the chase, the role of storytelling, and the way one's desire evolves with experience, exposure and identity. So listen in to find out all of the above, and if the grail watch is a myth, a feeling, or a rite of passage? Does the grail reveal more about the seeker than the object itself, giving away more than meets the eye? Answers to these questions and more will be revealed, as this episode invites you to rethink the quest, not as a destination, but as a journey that redefines popular opinion. We'd like to say a big thank you to our friends and listeners (and great collectors) for their comments and feedback to make this show truly unforgettable:1. Good morning from Pharma Daily: the podcast that brings you the most important developments in the pharmaceutical and biotech world. Recent developments in these industries underscore a period of significant scientific progress, regulatory maneuvers, and strategic investments. One notable event was AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo's success at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2025. Their antibody-drug conjugate, Datroway, demonstrated superior efficacy compared to Gilead's Trodelvy in the first global head-to-head trial involving Trop2-targeted therapies. This reflects the increasing focus on antibody-drug conjugates as precision medicine tools that offer targeted treatment options with potentially improved outcomes over traditional chemotherapy. In a move highlighting the ongoing trend of bolstering domestic production capacities, Merck is making a substantial $3 billion investment in a small molecule drug plant in Virginia. This is part of a broader $70 billion commitment to expand manufacturing and R&D capabilities in the U.S. Such strategic investments are crucial for maintaining competitive advantage and ensuring drug availability while meeting rising demands and streamlining supply chains.Turning to regulatory updates, the FDA has approved Amgen and AstraZeneca's Tezspire for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. This marks Tezspire's second indication, following its initial approval for severe asthma in 2021. The expanded approval showcases the drug's versatility and represents a strategic push to enhance its market presence against competitors like Dupixent. In oncology, Merck's Keytruda and Astellas/Pfizer's Padcev have made headlines with compelling results in muscle-invasive bladder cancer. The combination therapy reduced the risk of death by 50%, reinforcing Keytruda's position as a cornerstone immunotherapy across multiple cancer types. This result not only augments treatment options but also signifies the potential for combination regimens to enhance patient outcomes.Roche has expanded the indication of its aging oncology drug Gazyva to treat lupus nephritis, demonstrating strategic repurposing efforts to extend the lifecycle of existing therapies. While this expansion into autoimmune diseases comes late in Gazyva's lifecycle, it highlights a growing trend of capitalizing on established drugs for new therapeutic areas.AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo's Enhertu showed robust efficacy in early breast cancer treatment, potentially reshaping therapeutic strategies by offering new hope for early intervention. Similarly, Novartis' Pluvicto demonstrated promise in slowing hormone-sensitive prostate cancer progression, underscoring the potential of radioligand therapies in oncology. However, not all developments have been positive. AstraZeneca faced setbacks when its Imfinzi and Lynparza combination failed to meet survival goals in ovarian cancer, underscoring the challenges inherent in oncology drug development and the stringent benchmarks set by regulatory authorities like the FDA.The industry is also witnessing significant advancements in next-generation ADCs, as evidenced by Tubulis' 59% response rate in early clinical trials, which has attracted substantial investor interest. Additionally, Grail's Galleri cancer blood test is progressing towards FDA review with enhanced performance data, potentially revolutionizing cancer screening and early detection practices. These scientific and regulatory milestones are complemented by strategic investments in bioconjugation technologies. Cohance Life Sciences' $10 million investment in NJ Bio to enhance GMP bioconjugation capabilities exemplifies this trend. Such investments are crucial for advancing ADC development, which remains a focal point for innovative cancer therapies.Overall, these developments reflect a dynamic phase for the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors characterized by signSupport the show

Leonora Carrington was a prodigious artist closely associated with major surrealists of the 1930s. Though only sporadically in print until recently, her writing has helped cement her cult status, not least The Hearing Trumpet (1974). Before her family consign her to an old-age facility, nonagenarian Marian Leatherby is gifted a hearing trumpet with almost magical capabilities. Her institutionalisation leads to much eavesdropping, a Grail quest, descent into the underworld and an apocalyptic ice age. Joyous, disturbing and subversive, The Hearing Trumpet is full of themes and images that populate Carrington's artwork and other writing. Both Marina and Chloe knew Leonora Carrington, and in this episode they reflect on the ways her personality inflected her work. Their reading of The Hearing Trumpet reveals her humour, her visionary imagination and her attention to the boundaries between inner and outer realties. Next Level Soul with Alex Ferrari: A Spirituality & Personal Growth Podcast
On today's episode, we welcome Timothy Hogan, a Grand Master of the Knights Templar, who brings to light centuries-old mysteries, including the Vatican's secrets and the Holy Bloodline of Jesus. In our fascinating conversation, Hogan reveals deep connections between ancient orders, suppressed knowledge, and the role of the Templars in preserving sacred truths. Our exploration moves beyond historical timelines and into realms of spiritual wisdom that continue to resonate today. Timothy Hogan opens by explaining the origin of Friday the 13th as unlucky, a date tied to the infamous rounding up of the Knights Templar in 1307 by the Roman Church. As Hogan notes, the Templar Order, rich in spiritual wisdom and guardians of sacred treasures like the Holy Grail, had long been perceived as a threat by the powers that sought to control religious narratives. They were not only warriors but also custodians of profound spiritual truths, including Gnostic and alchemical knowledge, which set them apart from the mainstream religious structures of the time. He shares that the Templars viewed Christ as more than a religious figure confined to the Roman Church's teachings. To the Templars, Jesus embodied universal consciousness—an idea closely linked to the wisdom of Eastern traditions, such as the teachings of Krishna and Buddha. Hogan highlights how the Templars understood the "Christos" as a cosmic principle that transcended physicality, merging esoteric Christian teachings with philosophies from ancient Egypt and India. One of the most mind-opening parts of our dialogue was Hogan's revelation of the Templars' connection to the Holy Grail. As he explains, the Grail is not merely a physical cup but a symbol for something much more profound: the connection between individual consciousness and the universal divine mind. “The Grail represents that mystical union between the personal and the cosmic, the finite and the infinite,” says Hogan. The Templars understood this spiritual alchemy, embodying the idea that we are all walking temples, capable of connecting directly to the divine.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.

For Shakespeare and his contemporaries, the line between history and myth was often delightfully blurred. Legends of King Arthur and the fabled Holy Grail captured the imaginations of 16th-century England, weaving their way into royal propaganda, courtly entertainments, and even the education of young scholars. Elizabeth I herself was likened to the Grail Maiden, and stories of sacred relics mingled with Renaissance curiosity and Protestant skepticism. While Shakespeare doesn't mention the Grail directly in his plays, the ideas and imagery surrounding it would have been well known to his audiences. In a world shifting from medieval tradition to early modern innovation, what did the Holy Grail mean in Shakespeare's England? To help us explore this fascinating blend of myth, politics, and early modern belief, we're joined today by historian and author Sean Munger. Hosted on Acast. Everyone knows the story: you start with a paperclip and trade your way up to a house. Canadian blogger Kyle MacDonald made it happen in 2006 with his One Red Paperclip project. Could this principle, on a smaller scale, be applied to watches? Today on Fratello Talks, Nacho, Thomas, and RJ join to discuss the topic and share their experiences trading their way up. It was a potentially lucrative pursuit back in the day, but whether you can still trade to upgrade your watch today remains to be seen.
Initiates of the Flame, Protectors of the Grail. A deeper look into those who brought the light and sought to protect its secrets, and the birth of those who inverted it. From Cathars to Jesus, have we had the story all wrong? The answers may shock you.Donate: ButMeCoffee.com/PatrickBlackALOPodcast on CashApp

Steeped in historical narratives, the elusive search for the Holy Grail has captured the imaginations of Men for centuries. Mysterious tales, rich with intrigue, highlight the adventurous pursuits of the Knights Templar whose alleged role was that of guardianship, and the exploits of those with less than noble aims. Against all speculative accounts and investigative efforts, the true nature of the Grail, as well as the inscrutable motives of those coveting its incredible powers still remains shrouded in the mists of time. Is the enigmatic Grail a relic of the past, or has it been right under our feet the entire time? Peter Dawkins, co-founder of the Gatekeeper Trust and founder-principal of the Francis Bacon Research Trust, joins this Alfacast to discuss the ancient art of pilgrimage as a way of journeying with an awareness of the sacred nature of our environment. Peter also runs the Zoence Academy and Mystery School together with his wife and partner Sarah, which is particularly involved in the Western wisdom traditions and the wisdom of the land. Peter is a philosopher, historian, author, lecturer, teacher and leader of workshops, seminars and special events in many countries of the world. His specialist interest is in the Western wisdom traditions and mysteries, mythology, sacred architecture and landscape, and the English Renaissance. He is a recognised authority on the history and wisdom of the 16th/17th century Rosicrucians, Francis Bacon and Shakespeare, and their effect on the world. He teaches mostly through talks, seminars, workshops, mystery school events and pilgrimages to sacred sites of the world. In Peter's own words: "Just as acupressure can restore the healthy flow of vital energy in humans, so walking with awareness, and in a simple, friendly and sacred way, can help Mother Earth. It can enhance the Earth's natural energies, helping to bring healing and balance to the environment and to the planet as a whole." Peter will introduce the Baconian work, which is likewise involved with knowledge of the landscape, as well as the history, philosophy, culture and consciousness to elucidate the otherwise esoteric Western Wisdom Traditions. Shakespeare and the Rosicrucians. Peter's book, The Shakespeare Enigma, presents the treasure trail that leads to (and is) this ‘doorway', whilst its complementary book, Building Paradise, describes what the Baconian-Rosicrucian method and work actually is. A panoramic summary of this wisdom knowledge is given in his book, Core Truths, and a more detailed description of the wisdom that underlies the Shakespeare plays can be found in his series of books on the ‘Wisdom of Shakespeare' . The FBRT website and most of the essays are also written by Peter, which go into even greater detail concerning all of this and more. Perhaps the Earth itself is the Grail, and it is incumbent on each of us to reinvigorate ourselves, and the land we so take for granted, by walking the path of awareness. Long before the Allies stormed Berlin, a different kind of war was already underway—waged not with bullets and tanks, but with relics, runes, and ancient symbols of power. This three-part series unearths the chilling true story of the Nazis' obsession with the occult and their state-sponsored quest for the Holy Grail. At the center of it all was SS leader Heinrich Himmler, who transformed a crumbling medieval ruin—Wewelsburg Castle—into a spiritual fortress and ritual temple for a cult hiding in plain sight. From secret SS expeditions in search of relics to fabricated sacred texts and blood-soaked ceremonies in the castle's north tower, The Devil Within reveals how myth, pseudoscience, and fanaticism merged into something far more dangerous: belief weaponized. And when the war was lost, Wewelsburg didn't die. The Black Sun chamber survived. And the thirteenth pedestal—the one reserved for the Grail—remains empty to this day.
