Hey there, book lovers! We've got a juicy episode for you today, packed with fruity fun and heartwarming family moments. First up, we chatted with Mike Boldt about his new picture book "Cantaloupe and Honeydew Ride a Bike." It's a sweet story about two melon pals learning to pedal their way through life's challenges. Mike shared some behind-the-scenes scoop on his creative process, including how he came up with the idea of personifying these fruity friends. He even spilled the beans on his unique illustration technique, combining real fruit photos with hand-drawn expressions. Pretty cool, right? But wait, there's more! We also had Tracy C Gold on the show to talk about her touching book "Call Your Mother." This one's a real tear-jerker, folks. Tracy's book celebrates the special bond between mothers and children, from babyhood all the way to becoming a parent yourself. We dove into some deep stuff too, like how to support kids with artistic dreams and the importance of practice over perfection. Both authors shared some solid advice for aspiring writers and illustrators out there. Oh, and get this - we learned that writing children's books isn't just about creativity. There's a whole business side to it, with publishers looking for books that fit specific themes or holidays. Who knew? Throughout the episode, we sprinkled in some personal stories about family relationships, the joys (and challenges) of parenting, and the value of intergenerational connections. It's the kind of heartwarming content that'll make you want to pick up the phone and call your mom right after listening. So, whether you're a parent, a teacher, or just someone who loves a good children's book, this episode's got something for everyone. It's all about bikes, books, and the importance of staying connected with the people we love. Happy reading, everyone! Andrew Dana is the Founder and Co-owner of Timber Pizza Company and Call Your Mother Deli. He started both successful restaurant concepts in Washington, D.C., establishing them as local favorites known for their high-quality and creative food offerings. Prior to launching his two restaurant brands, Andrew served as the Director of Business Development at Everfi, a company that powers social impact through education. He prides himself on being a new dad, a Washington D.C. native, and an encyclopedia of carbohydrate knowledge. In this episode… Opening just one successful restaurant takes passion, persistence, and a focus on creating an unforgettable customer experience. But what are the primary factors in building a whole brand of thriving restaurants? According to Andrew Dana, Co-owner and Founder of Call Your Mother Deli and Timber Pizza Co., the key to building a successful restaurant brand involves a few core elements. First, it's crucial to have a deep passion for the product — developing a unique, high-quality menu item through trial-and-error and a focus on quality ingredients is vital. However, Andrew emphasizes that the experience is just as important as the food itself — creating a fun, memorable atmosphere through factors like music, ambiance, and exceptional customer service. At the heart of Andrew's approach is cultivating a vibrant, engaged work culture. He prioritizes hiring people who will have fun and enjoy coming to work every day, offering them perks like gym memberships, language classes, and opportunities for career growth to incentivize his team and show they are valued. On this episode of the Top Business Leaders Show, Andrew Dana, Co-owner and Founder of Call Your Mother Deli and Timber Pizza Co., chats with Rise25's Chad Franzen about keys to building successful restaurant brands. Andrew shares his passion for carbohydrates and how it inspired his pizza concept. He explains how starting with a mobile pizza oven allowed him to learn the business before opening his first brick-and-mortar location, and emphasizes the importance of creating a memorable customer experience.

With the TV industry adapting to the ever-changing landscape of streaming services, viewers are often left wondering whether their favorite network TV shows are coming back or not. Recently, many network shows have been canceled or ended multi-season runs, while others received early renewals or surprise resurrections. ABC had a relatively modest number of cancellations this season. “Alaska Daily,” “Avalon,” “Big Sky,” “The Company You Keep,” and “The Goldbergs” all got the ax. “A Million Little Things” ended its multi-season run. In terms of renewals, “Abbott Elementary,” “American Idol,” “The Bachelor,” “Celebrity Family Feud,” “Claim to Fame,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “The Good Doctor,” “Grey's Anatomy,” “Press Your Luck,” “The Rookie,” “Station 19,” “Will Trent,” and “The Wonder Years” are all coming back. CBS was busy renewing its shows this season, with many getting the green light. Among those renewed are “48 Hours,” “60 Minutes,” “The Amazing Race,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bob Hearts Abishola,” “CSI: Vegas,” “The Equalizer,” “FBI,” “FBI: International,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “Fire Country,” “Ghosts,” “Lingo,” “NCIS,” “NCIS: Hawaii,” “The Neighborhood,” “So Help Me Todd,” “Survivor,” “S.W.A.T.,” “Tough as Nails,” and “Young Sheldon.” “East New York” and “True Lies” were canceled, while “NCIS: Los Angeles” ended its run. Over at The CW, “Kung Fu,” “Tom Swift,” “Walker: Independence,” and “The Winchesters” were canceled, while “The Flash,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale,” and “DC's Stargirl” all had their final season orders. “All American” and “Walker” were renewed, while “All American: Homecoming,” “Gotham Knights,” and “Superman & Lois” are still waiting to hear if they will return. Fox canceled “Call Me Kat,” “Fantasy Island,” and “Monarch,” while “9-1-1” moved over to ABC for its seventh season. “The Cleaning Lady,” “The Great North,” “HouseBroken,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and “Welcome to Flatch” are all waiting to hear their fate. “9-1-1: Lone Star,” “Accused,” “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” “Animal Control,” “Bob's Burgers,” “Family Guy,” “Grimsburg,” “Krapopolis,” and “The Simpsons” were all renewed. NBC had a mix of cancellations and renewals, with “Call Your Mother,” “Debris,” “Good Girls,” “Law & Order: For the Defense,” “Manifest,” and “Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist” all getting canceled. “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” “Chicago P.D.,” “La Brea,” “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Lopez vs. Lopez,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Night Court,” “Password,” “Quantum Leap,” and “The Voice” were all renewed. In conclusion, it's important to stay informed about the TV shows you love, but with the industry shifting toward streaming services, it can be hard to keep up. However, with reliable sources like Entertainment Tonight, viewers can stay on top of whether their favorite shows are canceled or renewed.

New episodes of Prophecy Radio will air weekly, and all ages are welcome to tune in. News and Updates (00:02:12) We are perfect and have no flaws. No mistakes! Don't grow up, kids. Jen Cervantes has started writing The Lords of Night 2, but blank pages are hard. Are you going to attend Roshani Chokshi's Aru Shah and the Nectar of Immortality book tour? We've seen some information floating around the internet about Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+, but take everything with a grain of salt until it's been confirmed. First up is a PJOTV cast breakdown for each episode. @updatespercy is a very helpful news source. Go follow them! Next, we have a production end date. We wonder how the show will be shot and when we might start seeing episodes. Then we talk about working titles and other information. Could they be shooting in NYC at all? Karen needs to work on her transitions. Deep Dive: Poseidon (00:18:50) We have an ulterior motive for doing this episode now. Reminder that Melissa Ponzio would make a perfect Sally Jackson. Isn't it a little weird that Poseidon made horses? Oh yeah, Poseidon does have a thing about bulls. His golden chariot sounds pretty cool, too. We're not going to go through ALL the myths, just the ones that are more relevant. Like most gods, he has a complicated family tree and definitely has some issues with his dad. Rick had his work cut out for him talking about some of these nastier myths. Sometimes we don't know things, and that's okay. You might love your siblings, but you probably don't want to live with them. Why do telkhines sound so familiar!? Amphitrite just wanted to be her own person, but Poseidon wasn't too bad of a husband. If Poseidon had his own city, what would it be called? Poseidon is the patron god of never getting the city he wants. The Trojan Horse makes a lot more sense now that we know more about Poseidon. Poor Demeter. She really got the short end of the stick here. At least Hestia got off okay? Let's get into the Poseidon we know and love from Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Who holds the record for the most demigod children? Now that we're refreshed on Poseidon's physical attributes and his personality, let's discuss who we want to portray Percy's dad in the television show. Karen's first pick is none other than the Winter Soldier himself, Sebastian Stan. Let's be real, a defining characteristic is whether the person can rock long hair. Kristen's next pick might be a little out of left field, but Zac Efron would be a GET. Shame on Karen for never having seen A High School Musical. We're stuck on the age thing a little bit—how old should the gods appear to be? If Momoa wants to play Poseidon, we're not going to complain, but it's low-hanging fruit. Karen tried to avoid picking her go-to actor, but he'd be such a good catch that she couldn't do it. Because who doesn't love Idris Elba and want him in everything!? What would Poisedon's godly outfit look like? Okay, next up is another major player who's also been in Game of Thrones, and that's none other than…Kit Harrington! Plus, he's done some Greek-inspired movies before. Again, long hair is very important. Which means we have to include Keanu Reeves on this list. And we already know he'd be down to do a movie or show for kids! Karen and Kristen both feel pretty strongly about this last choice for Poseidon. Chris Hemsworth has already played a god, after all! Let. Him. Keep. His. Accent. One of our listeners also had a great suggestion! Chapter Reviews (00:59:39) It's time for Titan's Curse chapter 5. There's a lot going on in BOTH of these chapters. Strap in. We're super glad Percy stood up to Mr. D, even though that was a dangerous gamble. Why is Mr. D so awful sometimes?? Nico is turning into a rebellious teenager before our very eyes. Shouldn't Nico be having a larger reaction to the news that Bianca is a Hunter now? There are a lot of conversations we wish we'd been privy to. Is Nico fully aware of what it means for Bianca to be a Hunter now? At least Percy and Thalia had that heart-to-heart. We really appreciate that Rick isn't afraid to explore some difficult family dynamics. Your mother is definitely worried about you, Percy. What's this secret quest Clarisse is on? Prophecy Count: 12 We're getting Atlas vibes here. We love Tyson AND peanut butter. Kristen is a professional. Now it's time for Titan's Curse chapter 6! If Artemis were truly lost, what would happen to the Hunters? What do we think about Annabeth contemplating an oath to Artemis? Did the Oracle actually grin at Percy? And what's going on with that scarf? We can't remember. How do official CBH-sanctioned quests actually work? We're learning all kinds of things today. Would the Campers have won capture the flag if Annabeth was there? Isn't Pinecone Face a little…low? Prophecy Count: 13 Who's the goddess in chains? We have a ton of feedback this week! Thanks for listening, and be sure to tune in next time for episode 25, where we'll discuss our favorite Greek mythology-inspired movies. This episode's hosts are: Karen Rought and Kristen Kranz. Marvel Studios has kicked off its slate of TV series with WandaVision, a sort-of spoof of classic sitcoms starring a couple of Avengers. What's actually going on? We don't know (though Dave has theories), but Caroline Framke is here to talk about the two-part premiere! Around The Dial takes us through The Good Lord Bird, Call Your Mother, Season 2's new Batwoman, the Premier League of football (or soccer, if you will), The Challenge, and Superstore -- specifically, the voice Mark McKinney is using to play Glenn, and whether it's worse than jazz. Suley presents the Steven Universe episode "So Many Birthdays" for The Canon. Then after naming the week's Winner and Loser, it's on to a Game Time that takes it to the bridge.
