Scout is terrified of love. Well, more specifically, she's terrified to fall so hard she can't think straight. That's what it feels like when she's with Taylor, so of course she's going to run in the other direction. In an attempt to cure herself of all those emotions, she goes on a blind date with someone that's the opposite of Taylor in every way. But when the man himself shows up and saves her from the worst date ever, how is she supposed to be angry? Taylor knows that two things in life are certain. One, that he's loved Scout since the moment he laid eyes on her. And second, that she loves pissing him off. As soon as Scout quits pretending she doesn't love him back, they can get on with their happily ever after. Until then, he's not going to make it easy on her. I got a listener question about the Bryan Kohberger sentencing and a comment President Trump made on social media. Trump suggested that the judge should force Kohberger to explain why he committed such terrible crimes—but is that really something a judge can do?Drawing on my own experience practicing law in Ohio, I'll walk you through the ins and outs of plea hearings, what rights a defendant actually has at sentencing, and the concept of allocution. I'll break down how things typically work in the courtroom, whether a judge can—or should—demand an explanation from the defendant, and what it means for the justice system as a whole.00:00 Can Judge Make Defendant Explain?04:44 Judge's Discretion in Plea Agreements06:34 "Case Closed, Open for Questions"Here are three key takeaways:Defendants Can't Be Forced to Explain Motives: Judges generally cannot compel a defendant to state why they committed a crime, except in limited plea scenarios. The primary focus is often on whether the guilty plea itself is backed by factual acknowledgment, not personal motivation. The Right of Allocution Is Standard, But Not Mandatory: Defendants have the right to speak (“allocute”) before sentencing—whether to apologize, explain, or even decline to say anything at all. However, most courts won't force them to do so, and this right is widely but not constitutionally recognized.Withholding Explanation Can Influence Sentencing: While silence is an option, judges have the discretion to reject plea agreements or impose harsher sentences if a defendant withholds information the court finds important.Got a question you want answered on the podcast? Jon Stewart has just concluded a six-year investigation of a VHS Tape showing an alleged interrogation of a Gray Alien who was captured sometime around 1991 and held in the S-2 facility at Area 51. Stewart was sent an email from an insider with a list of ten names of officials in the room during the interrogation and was able to track down some of the officials to confirm their involvement. This included a Carthusian monk whose identity Stewart learned about and he was able to interview. The monk confirmed his participation in classified government programs involving interrogation of foreigners and exotic individuals.Stewart learned that the cameraman who filmed the alien interrogation was part of an acclimation program approved by the MJ-12 Group. Stewart discussed others such as Dr. Daniel Burisch and Bob Lazar who were also part of acclimation programs sponsored by MJ-12 that approved the release of extraterrestrial related information. Stewart asserts that a significant proportion of MJ-12 members are in favor of disclosure.Stewart was able to learn the identity of the mysterious Victor who first publicized the alien interrogation video after receiving it from the cameraman. According to Stewart, Victor's real name is Stanton John Willett, whose name was mentioned in an Area 51 log book.Stewart's remarkable conclusion that the Alien interrogation video is genuine has not been pursued by members of the US Congress who instead have focused on claims of alien biologics recovered from UFO crashes. Stewart believes that members of Congress are pursuing limited hangouts when it comes to the UFO topic rather than focusing on the video evidence of a live alien being interrogated.Jon Stewart can be reached by email at: jonalanstewart@aol.comThe full alien interview can be watched at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=devj5cNlLhMJoin Dr. Salla on Patreon for Early Releases, Webinar Perks and More.Visit https://Patreon.com/MichaelSalla/
The New York Times Bestseller Accepted into The National Press Club Marilyn Monroe died under suspicious circumstances on the night of August 4, 1962. Now, New York Times bestselling authors Jay Margolis and Richard Buskin finally lay to rest more than fifty years of wild speculation and misguided assertions by actually naming the screen goddess's killer. At the same time, they use the testimony of eyewitnesses to describe exactly what took place inside her house on Fifth Helena Drive in Brentwood, California.Implicating Bobby Kennedy in the commission of Monroe's murder, this is the first book to name the LAPD officers who accompanied the attorney general to her home, provide details about how the Kennedys used bribes to silence one of the ambulance drivers, and specify how the subsequent cover-up was aided by a noted pathologist's outrageous lies. It also exposes the third gunman in the kitchen pantry who delivered the fatal bullet to the back of RFK's head - and the third gunman's female accomplice who, until now, has only been known to the LAPD and the FBI as "the girl in the polka-dot dress."https://amzn.to/3HvasOYBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

The Trump Department of Justice, headed by Pam Bondi, has announced it will not be releasing Jeffrey Epstein's client list, in what appears to be a transparent coverup for powerful figures possibly implicated in Epstein's sex trafficking operations. As Jimmy points out, despite earlier promises from Bondi and FBI director Kash Patel that damning evidence existed, the official narrative now claims there is no client list, no blackmail material, and that Epstein died by suicide. As a result we have just another example of systemic corruption and hypocrisy in both political parties and the justice system. Plus a segment on Elon Musk's early effort to create a new political party to take on the duopoly's vise-like grip on our government. Also featuring Stef Zamorano, Mike MacRae and Sam Tripoli. And a phone call from Liam Neeson!
The DOJ and FBI recently closed the Epstein case, concluding that Epstein did not kill himself, had no client list, and was not blackmailing elites. However, doesn't this directly contradict statements made by Pam Bondi earlier this year? Furthermore, doesn't it conflict with comments President Trump has made over the past eight years? Did the DOJ and FBI mishandle the case and mislead the American public, or is something more strategic at play? Meanwhile, Texas and North Carolina are grappling with unprecedented destruction following devastating flash floods. The death toll in Texas has risen to 90, while widespread rescue efforts continue in North Carolina. These two great states will need our prayers and support. Over the weekend, Tucker Carlson interviewed the President of Iran, who shared his perspective on the ongoing tensions between the United States, Iran, and Israel. One can't help but wonder if we'll ever get the full truth.
