SHOW SUMMARY: In part two of this week's two-part episode of The Fix with PWTorch VIP analyst Todd Martin and host PWTorch editor Wade Keller, they cover these topics: - A follow-up on the lack of history of pro wrestling in the pre-1900s era. - What is the history of big name boxers benefiting pro wrestling's business? - When are wrestlers typically told the finish of their matches? - Is Steve Austin right when he says if you're not in pro wrestling to be world champion, you shouldn't be in the business? - Aren't a lot of AEW's issues behind the scenes more typical pro wrestling locker room stuff than an actual indictment of Tony Khan's promoting style? - Thoughts on the pros and cons of MJF's approach in his promo last week on Dynamite. - Isn't there a happy medium between defending the WWE Title every month and doing it as infrequently as Roman Reigns is? - Has WWE explained what Damage CTRL means? - What is Jungle Boy meant to be? - Why did WWE show a close-up of a fan wearing a t-shirt with a reference to Chris Benoit? - Shouldn't Drew McIntyre be more hung up on how he was cheated out of a chance to win his match against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle and actually demand a rematch rather than just talk about Solo Sikoa? - Where are the best sources of AWA wrestling history? - Point by point legal analysis of leverage C.M. Punk might have on AEW given the nature of what went down after his media Q&A with the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. - Did Punk plan to trigger everything that happened after All Out or was it based on genuine emotions and it led to things he didn't anticipate? - Is AEW at risk of turning away fans now that the most interesting story is behind the scenes turmoil that they aren't even addressing on TV? - What is Tony Khan's end game with Jade Cargill and has he likely picked out who will eventually beat her? - Has any pro wrestling company lost more momentum in a year than AEW has in terms of its relative perception to its primary competitor, WWE? - Who should finally beat Roman Reigns? - Isn't it already clear a mistake was made by Paul Levesque not having Drew McIntyre beat Roman Reigns now that Reigns is moving on to a match with Logan Paul?

WHAT A BIRTHDAY GIFT! This is from Cageside Seats: "WWE announced Vince McMahon's retirement on Friday (July 23) after trading closed on Wall Street. To start the new business week, they announced a new role for Paul “Triple H” Levesque — and its one that will please a lot of fans, and send a message to investors about continuity in Stamford after the company's long-time leader stepped down amidst a hush money scandal. It also answers some questions about the power plays we've heard whispers about. Triple H will lead creative, taking over for his father-in-law. The news was announced in a press release confirming that Levesque's wife Stephanie will serve as new co-CEO with former President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan. WWE & BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCE NEW CO-CEOS STEPHANIE MCMAHON AND NICK KHAN STAMFORD, Conn., July 25, 2022 – WWE® (NYSE: WWE) and its Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan as co-Chief Executive Officers. Ms. McMahon has also been appointed Chairwoman of the Board, and Mr. Khan will continue to serve as a member of the Board. These appointments follow Vince McMahon's retirement announcement on Friday, July 22. “We are grateful for the opportunity to lead WWE together with our unmatched management team,” said Ms. McMahon and Mr. Khan. “We recognize this is a tremendous opportunity and responsibility, and we look forward to serving the WWE Universe.” Additionally, WWE executive Paul Levesque will assume all responsibilities related to WWE's creative, in addition to his regular duties. Preliminary second quarter 2022 earnings were also disclosed in the presser. You can read more about those here. Excited for The Game to run creative on Raw & SmackDown? Will the shows start to reflect trends we saw during his popular black & gold era booking of NXT?" #217: Tacoma, Washington Punk Band, Let Me Downs

The Let Me Downs are a three piece punk rock band that was formed out of the ashes of broken hearts and empty glasses in grey winter skies of Tacoma, WA in 2019. The band began when Paul Levesque (bass, vocals) relocated from Phoenix, AZ to Tacoma, WA. Paul recruited Garrett “Stump” Guadiana (drums) and Pat Hall (guitar, vocals). After just one rehearsal, the trio knew they were onto something good. After just a few more rehearsals they had written what is now their debut record titled “Tacoma Is For Lovers”. Soon after the band formed Paul had to unexpectedly move back to Phoenix. But, the band did not want to throw in the towel just yet. With traveling out of the question during the pandemic, Paul recorded his bass and vocals in Arizona while Pat and Garrett recorded their parts in Washington. The outcome was 11 emotionally driven and punk rock energized songs. Their debut record is slated to be released July 16, 2021. "This record definitely means a lot to me. I wrote most of these songs when I was going through a real tough time in my life. A lot of life changes happening. Still pulls on the heart strings a little bit when ever I play or hear the songs. My mind is still blown how we pulled this off. Recording in two different states is something I have never done. It was a challenge for sure. But, I couldn't be more stoked on how everything came together. I'm super proud of what Garrett, Pat and myself were able to accomplish." - Paul Levesque (bass, vocals) “I am really proud of what we were able to create. In the midst of a pandemic and in different states, we were able to collaborate and write an honest album I am truly proud of. Can't wait to see what we can do when not locked down.” Pat Hall (Guitar, Vocals) "Te three of us put together, our blood sweat and emotions into this album and are proud of how it turned out and can't wait to show it off."- Garrett STUMP Guadiana (Drums) Stream the new single "Tacoma Is For Lovers" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVUXQY8fLOc https://open.spotify.com/track/3AgSQMmL4sMSpsefJn3y4X?si=80d5c796180c4455 Upcoming record release show: Saturday July 17th at Yucca Tap Room in Tempe Az!
