Sean Dowdell (Grey Daze) discusses his long history with former bandmate Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) who he started making music with as a teenager. He also delves deep into the story of the new Grey Daze record "The Phoenix," a loving tribute to Chester's incredible voice and presence which features Chester's original vocals and reinvented versions of Grey Daze classics (the sequel to the band's beloved last release, "Amends").
On this episode, we did not talked about why ilyas was born in Malaysia and not being granted a Malaysian citizenship. But instead, We talked about religion (islam), life in Turkey as a tourist, studying in Malaysia, and all other deeper stuff such as "giving up in life", how having no expectations in the outcome in life is the secret sauce to happiness, why questioning faith and religion can be healthy and why he wants to have a conversation with Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) & Muhammad Ali (boxer). Holy Moly. Deep stuff. Ilyas is a passionate life surfer and an avid boxer. He is based in Canada and is of Algerian descent. (Let me remind you, ilyas was born in Malaysia) Tune in to find out what was the greatest advice he has ever received through out his youth. @hellohellokopikemylo

Wes Geer | Rock to Recovery Find Rock to Recovery here: https://www.facebook.com/rocktorecovery/ Former (hed) P.E. and Korn guitarist Wes Geer founded Rock to Recovery on 12-12-2012 in an effort to bring a new and unique type of music expression group into treatment centers -by forming a band! Together the band writes and performs a song, finally recording it at the end of each session. The program is designed so that ‘non-musicians’ can access the magic, healing, uplifting powers of writing and playing music. "Music is a language we are encoded with before we even exit the womb. Put on a song and a toddler will start singing, even dancing.” -Wes Rock to Recovery gives people the outlet to challenge themselves and channel the music that’s deep in their soul, many for the first time. Rock to Recovery is the vehicle to help bring it out of them. Connecting to this creative, Higher-Self force reminds participants that there is a hopeful, happy, playful, part of their Self still inside. For those struggling with PTSD, TBI, addiction, mental health, etc., it may have been years since having this part of Self activated. Those in the early days of recovery can enjoy the therapeutic release that only music can provide. The participants feel a part of, grow self esteem, walk through fears, inhibitions, escape their woes, to come out the other side with a totally new vibration. People in recovery can start becoming activated, re-connecting to people thru the process, as playing music does organically, what psych meds do, helping to stimulate serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin (the ‘’love molecule’) naturally. Rock to Recovery typically operates as an adjunct service to a treatment center's curriculum. Since it’s inception, Rock to Recovery has been integrated as part of over one hundred treatment programs. "I went through a rehab program, I know what it feels like. Playing my guitar was such a vibe changer for our whole milieu. We would get so silly writing songs, singing dancing on breaks. Walls would come down. The day’s struggle would fade away. I wanted a way to bring that energy to everyone that enters a treatment program. The results have been beyond anything we ever could have imagined. Watching the hopeless find hope, the lost feel purpose, the self-loathing find confidence, the miserable, dark-minded find their light and laughter again; these transformations are nothing short of magic.” -Wes Rock to Recovery has for-profit and non-profit entities. The company uses the NPO to donate services to treatment programs that otherwise would not be able to access their services. As a result Rock to Recovery has started doing fundraising concerts and holiday events. The concerts honor rockstars with the ‘Rock to Recovery Award’ for their service, and success in overcoming addiction, and assisting others in the community. Past recipients have been Mike Ness (Social Distortion), Wayne Kramer (MC5) and Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stonesour). These sober events have provided a unique resource for hope and fun in the recovery community as well as been supported by members from Guns n Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, Billy Idol, Jane’s Addiction, Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray) and the late Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) to name a few.

VIDEO: https://youtu.be/gADtUDJ8Svo James takes your calls on interracial dating and marriage — Jesse's Biblical Question of the Week was: Do you believe in it? Jesse joked he was "scared" to ask James in church. Jesse made a great point about it to James in talking the other day. There's also been a number of high profile suicides lately: Robin Williams (comedian/actor), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park singer), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden singer), more recently Kate Spade (fashion designer, David's sister-in-law), and Anthony Bourdain (CNN chef/TV host). Why is suicide on the rise? ("THANKS OBAMA" + "BLAME BUSH.") Lastly, it's so-called gay pride month, and I'm sorry to all the people with June birthdays who have to share this month with that, SMH. The radical homosexuals as Jesse calls them, have won over the world, the big corporate businesses, the banks, and breweries, and it's truly disgusting. Call-in: 888-775-3773.
