Ari examines the history of "Strange Fruit" - widely considered to be the first song of the 20th Century to document racism against African-Americans. This song remains a cornerstone of the foundation of the Civil Rights movement.  Music in this episode was created by Billie Holiday, Abel Meeropol, Bill Lee and the Natural Spiritual Orchestra, Django Rinehardt, and Nina Simone.  I do not own any rights to this music, but am using it for historical context and instructional purposes.
