I have really enjoyed doing my show over the last 5 years. I've met so many incredible people. I've chatted with amazing bands and influential creatives who breathe life into the artform.A good buddy of mine knew perpetually upcoming music producer, Chris Collier and made the introduction. Why do I say perpetually upcoming? Because Chris is always upping his game. He won't rest on his accomplishments, and why would he stop now? He's at the top of his game, for now, but there's always another artistic mountain to climb, so most of us will keep watching from afar, wondering how he's done it.If you actually listen to the entire show, you'll know the secret, which, in many ways, hasn't ever been a secret, but simply a way of being. I highly suggest we all try to be a little more like Chris Collier and love what we do with an unrivaled zeal. Guitarists George Lynch and Doug Aldrich join the program to discuss their latest efforts - Dirty Shirley (Lynch) & Revolution Saints (Aldrich) both out January 24th on FRONTIERS Records. About George Lynch: George Lynch is considered to be one of the most influential and famous 1980s metal guitarists best known for Dokken and Lynch Mob. He has had a slew of projects including, most recently, KXM, Sweet & Lynch, and now - Dirty Shirley. With Dirty Shirley, Lynch is paired with Dino Jelusic, lead singer of Animal Drive in a project that has a blend of classic Metal to more “traditional” Lynch Mob oriented sounds with over the top vocals from Dino. Dirty Shirley's self titled album is out January 24th. About Doug Aldrich: Doug Aldrich is a Los Angeles-based hard rock guitarist with a resume that includes being a member of Dio, Whitesnake, House of Lords and most recently the musical collective the Dead Daisies. His latest project is the Revolution Saints album "Rise" out January 24th. Revolution Saints is a trio that includes Doug Aldrich, Jack Blades (ex- Damn Yankees. Night Ranger), and Deen Castronovo (ex-Journey, The Dead Daisies). Their 3rd album "Rise" is packed with classic melodic rock.
ROCK TALK WITH MITCH LAFON presents guitarist George Lynch. (Recorded December 2019) George discusses his latest project, Dirty Shirley, and the various other projects (KXM, Sweet & Lynch...) he's been involved with over the last few years. Also, will there be a Dokken/Lynch Mob and Lita Ford tour? Though it's been announced, the answer seems unsure. Other topics covered include: branding, getting off the traditional album-tour-album cycle, being challenged, growing as a person & player, chasing 'the dollar', being pigeonholed, if the personalities hadn't clashed - could Dokken have been a stadium act (at approx. 14mins 19 secs.), Frank Marino, Uli Jon Roth and much more. Commenting on his various projects: "It's my own damn fault for not saying no to anything... But it probably isn't the smartest thing in the world - business wise or on a lot of other levels." On Dokken: "Don took a gamble that he could disband the group, take off on his own and keep that momentum going. To a large extent that was misguided... the rest of the band suffered because of that (arguably in a lot of ways). We had what we had all worked for, ripped out from under us... When it came time for us to reap the rewards of that, it was pretty much stolen out from under us by one of us. One of our brothers and that was very hard for me to take." On the upcoming Lita Ford, Lynch Mob, Dokken tour: "Well, listen - nothing is set in stone. I'll preface this by saying that everything could fall apart tomorrow, but assuming everything goes according to plan..." Lynch Mob new music: "Lynch Mob will have a new release in time for next year's touring." Who's on the new Lynch Mob album: "Jimmy and I worked on the new record initially... then we brought in Joe Retta (from Heaven & Earth - who's working on vocals)... Sean McNabb is not. Next year, Brian Tichy's coming back." Get your MITCH MERCH here: https://loudtrax.com/Mitch Twitter: @mitchlafon Instagram: @mitch_lafon Support the show.

Steve Cooper talks with drummer Ray Luzier. Ray in currently the drummer for Korn. He started playing drums at age five and is a self-taught drummer. He graduated from the Musician’s Institute 1989 and returned a couple years later as an instructor teaching Rock-style drumming. Prior to Korn, he had played with an amazing list of musicians: David Lee Roth, Billy Sheehan, Robert and Dean DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), Richard Patrick, and many others. He became a full time member of Korn in 2008 after the departure of David Silveria. He still teaches in his spare time by offering drum clinics. He also has a side project, the band KXM that also includes dUg Pinnick of King's X and George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob fame.
It's spring, (although you'd hardly know it), but despite the uncharacteristic weather patterns, Metal Ron warms the soul (or at least eardrums) with a burst of new and old heaviness!!!new treats include: new Shrapnel, Nervosa, Lost society, Savage Messiah, KXM and many more ditties to help you bang that head that doesn't bang!
Today is another one of those treats and perks I get from doing this show. I just spoke with dUg Pinnick from the supergroup KXM which also features George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob, and Ray Luzier of Korn. Their self-titled debut, which you can get March 11 (at various places, including Amazon where the pre-order is the #1 Hard Rock album), is incredible. dUg's vocals combined with the trio's instrument work is great record. I do hope they are able to tour behind it soon! I chat with dUg about how this project came together (it involves cake!), all of the various projects he's a part of and how he keeps his enthusiasm going for everything, how he comes across talented new bands, and dUg shares that first record he fell in love with. You can follow KXM on Twitter @KXMofficial and like them on Facebook at Facebook.com/KXMofficial! And you can get the record March 11!
