The boys talk about Gilmore Girls fast talking, reincarnated as a sword, Darling IN The Franxx, Nates way late to the party of Star Trek: Voyager, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's growth for growths sake but also good design and when does it happen in games? Nates using a hockey puck in his computer so he can play Cyberpunk 2077, should Tim get a theoretical iPhone 16n Pro Max this year? All this and more on this weeks fork! Klaxosaurs are threat to humanity in future, and the only weapon that can stop them are the FRANXX, humanoid mech suits. Strangely only children can pilot them, leaving humanities fate to a group of teenagers. When Hiro has been unable to successfully pilot a suit, he meets up with Code 002, and is finally able to get a connection. Why can Hiro only pair up with Zero Two, and why are children the only means to pilot the FRANXX? Find out when Condor and Falcon discuss Darling in the Franxx! When humanity is threatened by ferocious monsters, society depends on children trained to pilot battle robots called Franxx. When a mysterious and skilled pilot named Zero Two meets a boy named Hiro, the world might finally have the heroes they desperately need. This one has a mild parental warning! Darling in the Franxx uses some sexual imagery and innuendo, and it would be difficult to have a serious discussion about the anime without describing some of that. It's nothing major, but listener discretion I suppose.__Topics discussed__: mecha anime, Evangelion, child soldiers, post-apocalypse, Studio Trigger, A-1 Pictures, collaborative animation, sexual innuendo, robots
1/4 of the way through Franxx and we are already at our first climax! The parasites are connected! The Klaxosaur is HUGE! Hiro is... ready to die? Death, resurrection, phallucide, this episode has it all!! Be our Darling as we conclude the Jian arc with a long time friend and guest from our first season: Kenneth!!!! We don't really tweet, but we would probably respond to one @penpenpalspod And we would DEFINITELY respond to an email at penpenpalspod@gmail.com

We have a pair of manga this week with some requests. Tim has a request for Darling In The Franxx. Most of his exposure of this series came from the meme'd scene where Hiro and Zero Two announce their love for each other. They're both mech pilots without partners. Hiro can seem to pair with anyone and Zero Two keeps killing hers. So she grabs him and forces him to work with her in the mech which works and they fight a monster. It gets a crackers for being fun while being light on story. Weltall has Late Winter. It's the furture and a brand new ice age has show up ready to wreck … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 413: Late Darling"

The Casual Anime Podcast hosts a round table discussion where we attempt to wrap up all the loose ends from Trigger/A-1's collab anime, Darling in the FranXX. Ian from @retroanime makes his long awaited return for this 1 hour dissection/roast of the most anticipated show of Winter 2018.
If you're still not fed up with Darling in The FranXX our podcast did a quick rundown of the series. A more extensive discussion is also in the works, scheduled for late August. We apologize for the lack of content.
A continuation of our Darling in the Franxx impressions. This second part goes into SPOILERs for the series as a whole as Shadow explains to Ziven and Maxwell about the show. Shadow Akuma and Maxwell Knight (along with Ziven) sit down to talk about Darling and The Franxx. This is Part One of a Two Part Episode. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/weebandnormie/message
Darling in the FranXX is rapidly approaching its conclusion, but the show seems fine with replacing a nondescript organisation with an extraterrestrial nondescript organisation. Recorded in an early morning low energi session, appropriate enthusiasm was probably lacking as we discussed the events of ep. 20.
The life and lies of Doctor Werner Frank. A character hardly explored takes the center stage of the 19th episode. As this series continues it's absolute incomprehensible storytelling. The podcast soldiers on :3
The tale of two weddings and the lesbian subplot - The hosts from The Casual Anime Podcast dives deep into the rushed pairing of Mitsuru and Kokoro, and makes their prediction that there will be a massive showdown some episodes down the road.
The weekly viewcast makes it's triumphant return while Karsten tries his hand at Photoshop. :3 Coming of the hype of episode 15 it seems almost inconceivable that ep. 16 could fail to capitalize on any of it. This is truly the darkest timeline.
The podcast has a lot of praise for the 15th episode, and that is certainly a welcome change. This episode cashes in on all the pent-up feelings this show has accumulated over a 15 episode runtime. As the opening music is played over the final fightscene you somewhat lose the motivation to scrutinize this episode with a fine-tooth comb, and basically accepting that sometimes the whole can be a lot better than the sum of its parts.
We join forces with Ian from the Retro Anime Podcast for a roundtable discussion of Darling in The FranXX. With his considerable knowledge of mecha genre we gain valuable insight and perspective into a series that had become rather stale. Does this mean the weekly viewcast perceivers? Tabun ~
Plantation 13 is approaching the Grand Crevasse, while Ichigo stages a “coup” to remove her only competition for BEST GIRL. The podcast Is revitalized as ep. 14 leaves us hanging, and creates numerous character motivations and angles to discuss.
Being three weeks delayed we cram episode 11, 12 and 13 into one incoherent podcast. Now that we are all caught up, our weekly format will resume as normal.
Episode 10 and watcher's fatigue is rapidly setting in. What is probably supposed to be an episode with shock value feels more like A-1/Trigger's overly convoluted way of saying “we don't understand pacing”. This show needs to seriously pick up pace to not end up as the innuendo collab show that failed.
The klaxosaurs seems to be back just as Daddy's brought presents. Ichigo and goro seem to have some personal issues to work trough. Is this turning into a couples'-reconciliation-of the-week kinda show?
The 8th episode of Darling is a complete dumpster fire. Memes aside, the last two episodes have been somewhat mediocre and highlights the obvious flaw of this weekly format. Hopefully the pace picks back up again shortly and we can have something meaningful to discuss.
Plantation 13 go to the beach, you won't belive what happens next
At six episodes of Darling in the FranXX and the weekly viewing fatigue is slowly setting in. To the series credit we are served the most action-packed and straight forward episode to date, but somehow we still “lose our way” and mess up the chronology.
Episode 5 of our weekly viewcast of Darling in the FranXX. Now with a 20% more engaged Karsten :3
For the 4th episode of Darling in the FranXX we ramble on for 40 minutes about innuendos, psyche, and incompetent leadership. Conciseness clearly isn't our strong suit, so obviously we could make shorter viewcasts, but when we get started we are too lazy to stop. Karsten seems to be quite pleased with this one :3
After numerous attempts we finally managed to record a functional(?) podcast. We hope you enjoy the final product. Character-building and establishing set pieces for future reference sums up the first part of this episode, so when the groundworks have been established and the conflict made clear we are free to jump in to more action heavy sequences. The future definitely seems promising.
A Weekly Viewcast – Darling in the FranXX ep.2 Episode 2 shows us how a perceived resolved conflict suddenly becomes a mayor plot point. For Hiro this episode served to reaffirm his fears of being useless. When everything is an allusion to sex, everything becomes an innuendo.
A Weekly Viewcast – Darling in the FranXX ep.1 We are pleased to Introduce a weekly show where we discuss Studio Trigger and A-1 Pictures' freshly aired episode of Darling in the FranXX. Hopefully this can become a 24 part series ^_^. Fingers crossed we can keep it interesting.
