Chapter 12 - In Which Phileas Fogg and His Companions Venture Across the Indian Forests, and What Ensued Chapter 13 - In Which Passepartout Receives a New Proof That Fortune Favors the BraveWe're deep in India now, and Verne is having the time of his life.Fogg and company get off the beaten path and into the Indian forests — and when Verne says "and what ensued," he means it. What ensues is exactly the kind of thing that makes this book so much fun. Then Chapter 13 gives Passepartout a moment that is equal parts terrifying and triumphant, and honestly he earns every bit of it.Fortune does favor the brave. It also apparently favors the recklessly optimistic Frenchman who keeps stumbling into situations no reasonable person would survive.Enjoy! You could've enjoyed this full episode early if you'd been a Patron! Then Chapter 11 has Fogg doing what Fogg does best: identifying an impossible problem and solving it by throwing money at it in the most audacious way imaginable. Chapter 8 - In Which Passepartout Talks Rather More, Perhaps, Than Is PrudentChapter 9 - In Which the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean Prove Propitious to the Designs of Phileas FoggTwo chapters, and Passepartout continues to be his own worst enemy.Chapter 8 is exactly what it sounds like — our lovable Frenchman opens his mouth at precisely the wrong moment, and Fix is there to make the most of it. Then Chapter 9 gives us some breathing room as Fogg and company cross the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, the kind of passage that should be uneventful but somehow never quite is when Fix is lurking around.Enjoy! You could've enjoyed this full episode early if you'd been a Patron!

This week, Nigel and Tazziii dive deep into The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (starting at 25:29) with script editor Sashi Gopalakrishnan and Games Aid chair and member of Games London's Ensemble Sara Veal.We talk about the franchise's incredible success in film form, even as the sequel's narrative can feel loose and under-structured, and what that trade-off means for its different audiences. From a storytelling and fan perspective, we get into what works in the execution, what feels thin, and the value of stories supposedly “for kids” in a TikTok generation. This week's storytelling tip is about developing an earned redemption arc.Other stories we're enjoying include: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Netflix), Fullmetal Alchemist (Crunchyroll), Belonging: Remembering Ourselves Home (Book), Paradise (Disney+), Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (Disney+), The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting (Crunchyroll), Buddy Daddies (Crunchyroll), I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Be (Crunchyroll), Castle in the Air & House of Many Ways (Book), Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair (Disney+), Down Cemetery Road (Apple TV), Wonder Man (Disney+), Margot Got Money Troubles (Apple TV), Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Netflix), Saga (Comic).Connect with Sashi online:- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sashi_sketchesConnect with Sara online:Website: https://www.huhbub.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/digitalbruhahaTwitter: https://twitter.com/digitalbruhahaConnect with mayamada:mayamada is a manga brand and mission-driven creative agency all about equipping young and aspiring creatives to thrive on the creative journey - whether they're discovering what's possible, developing new skills, or sharing expertise with the next generation.Website: https://mayamada.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mayamadatvTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mayamadatvBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/mayamada.comYouTube: https://youtube.com/mayamadatvTwitch: https://www.twitch.tv/mayamadaJoin our Studio77 community on Discord to connect with other creatives and be part of the journey https://discord.gg/b5fmnuT

Which means by the time you're done listening, you'll have met Phileas Fogg — one of the strangest, most fascinating protagonists in all of classic literature. We also get our first real look at Passepartout, who I'm pretty confident is going to be one of your favorite character before this is all over. It's a perfect opening. Verne wastes no time.So — grab the coffee, find a comfortable spot, and welcome to a brand new story. Let's go.You could've enjoyed this full episode early if you'd been a Patron! by UFO History Buff & Author, Charles Lear In 1980, The Roswell Incident by Charles Berlitz and William Moore was published. In the book, on page 103 of the first printing, there is a bad photocopy of a photo showing two soldiers escorting a small creature. One of the soldiers is carrying a suitcase-shaped object that seems to be a respiration device, as there is a hose going from it to the creature's mouth. The photo is said to have “reportedly first surfaced in Wiesbaden, Germany.” In 1981, Wiesbaden resident Klaus Webner took it upon himself to investigate. He wrote an article presenting his findings that was published in the September 1981 issue of The Probe Report, put out by the Britain-based Probe UFO Research Organization. In the book, the photocopy is presented with the caption “Alien from Another World or Elaborate Hoax?” The reader is told that it, along with the “artist's interpretation” on the preceding page, is being published “without comment about whether it may or may not pertain to certain significant aspects of the Roswell Incident.” According to the authors, “an unnamed informant” gave the original photo, which he said he bought for a dollar, to FBI agent John Quinn at the New Orleans field office. They say the photo “purports to show an alien survivor of a UFO crash in the custody of two U.S. military policeman.” Lastly, they say that it got “limited publicity in West Germany in the 1940s” and was met “with skepticism by U.S. officials of the then-existent Allied Military Government.” Read more →CONTACT AND SUPPORT

We're bringing back yet another MTAC Another World OSMinterview! Today, we've got our interview we did for MC Frontalot! Here's what MTAC had on their webpage about him: MC Frontalot (née Damian Hess) is the original mastermind of Nerdcore Hip-Hop and still its Final Boss. Front was born in San Francisco and grew up in Berkeley. He was tall and scrawny, had trouble breathing, and could not see well. A special teacher was called in to help him attain basic competence on the monkey bars, another to give him standardized tests meant for older children. Thusly, he was the most popular kid in his elementary school. Just kidding! He got pushed down a lot and called “nerd.” Did he maybe even deserve it? I mean, really – who strikes out at kickball? He spent the next twenty years or so trying to get over it. And kind of succeeded! Flash forward to 1999: the dotcom bubble is maximally inflated; nerds everywhere imagine themselves to be popular and/or hip. Damian is getting overpaid to code web pages, which leaves him free in the evenings to play with audio software. A longtime idolizer of rappers, he has been committing his own esoteric hip-hop compositions to four-track tape since high school, revealing them to nobody. But, suddenly! Multi-track desktop studios, cheap pro-grade recording hardware, skyrocketing bandwidth, semi-anonymous web publishing: these factors converge on Damian's rap hobby like a flock of winged monkeys. He posts an MC Frontalot web page, dubbing his output “Nerdcore Hip-Hop” because his audience is composed of several Star Wars figurines who live on his desk (and also random internet people who click on his MP3s by mistake). Somehow, it is a quarter-century later. Nerdcore has metastasized into an internet phenomenon and underground touring powerhouse, with dozens of well established live acts and hundreds of home-studio rhymers self-identifying within the subgenre. MC Frontalot, called alternately the movement's godfather or grandfather (thanks, kids), leads the charge, performing for thousands around the country and at prominent geek gatherings such as Comic-Con, DEF CON, the Penny Arcade Expo, Super MAGFest, and BlizzCon. He's been featured in The New York Times, Spin, Wired, XXL, Newsweek, CNN, Blender, XLR8R, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, The London Daily Telegraph, NPR, G4TV, Esquire, Playboy, CMJ, The Guardian (UK), The Wall Street Journal, and scores of city papers nationally and internationally. He has released seven studio albums, Nerdcore Rising (Sept 2005), Secrets From The Future (Apr 2007), Final Boss (Nov 2008), Zero Day (Apr 2010), Solved (Aug 2011), Question Bedtime (Aug 2014), and Net Split, or the Fathomless Heartbreak of Online Itself (March 2019). The documentary feature, Nerdcore Rising: The Movie, which focuses on Front's live band and exposes the the Nerdcore phenomenon in general, debuted at the South By Southwest Film Festival in 2008. Front lives in Berkeley, CA, and still spends most of his time rapping into a computer. https://mtac.net/guests/mc-frontalot OSMnotes We want to thank MC Frontalot and once again for taking the time to chat with us!
