3D printing is now widely available and is especially used by companies to make their own parts or components. But consumers can also print up their stuff at home. But mass adoption hasn't taken off yet. Does the technology and especially the speeds need to improve? Dave Doyle, 123-3D ,ie commercial manager

Continuing to ask the question “What is Surveying?”, this episode of “Surveyor Says! The NSPS Podcast” finds us chasing down the original geospatial “Deadhead” Dave Doyle, our favorite retired NGS Chief Geodetic Surveyor. We caught up with Dave between his speaking engagements and monument hunting trips to discuss our topic and provide his perspective of surveying through the evolution of geodesy becoming an important part of positioning. He shared his story of how he was introduced to surveying (Thank you, Uncle Sam!), his early involvement with developing the NAD83 framework, and how important the proper understanding of GPS metadata is to the surveyor. Dave also highlights the importance of geospatial data by the surveyor for collaboration with the GIS community. Thanks for tuning into this next installment of our “What is Surveying” series with another great viewpoint of the profession. We will continue to bring you those perspectives in future episodes of “Surveyor Says!” The NSPS Podcast.

Welcome to another episode of Level Playing Field here on the Outsports Podcast Network on SB Nation. This week I enter the world of MMA, a world I know nothing about, and get educated and have some fun talking with Senior Editor of MMAJunkie Dave Doyle. In late October I was down in LA for the week and Dave was one of the guests I interviewed in person at my rental. We sat back, drank a few beers and spoke about how he got involved in MMA, growing up in Catholic private school and coming out. We also talk about him getting involved in the Aids Life Cycle (ALC), an annual ride between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Hear me say some incredibly stupid things while Dave educates me all while talking about a couple of fights in October. Want to know more about the ride, you can click this link: https://www.aidslifecycle.org/ You can follow Dave on twitter @davedoylemma Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Fightful's James Lynch is joined top MMA Journalist Dave Doyle of MMAFigthing and Yahoo! Sports to talk about his career.
Sometimes wrestling shows are good. Sometimes wrestling shows are bad. And then there's Halloween Havoc 1992, which starts off harmlessly enough before falling off a cliff and landing rectum-first on a spiked fence with its infamous 'triple main event'. And if you think Dean and Liam had it rough rewatching and reliving this Bill Watts catastrophe of a PPV, spare a thought for their special guest, veteran MMA journalist Dave Doyle. Dave travelled from Boston to Philadelphia to attend Havoc 92 live, in what was his very first wrestling road trip. You'd think such a trip would put him off wrestling for life, but a typewritten letter of apology from Watts himself turned a horrendous show into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This week in “Press Row,” Jordan Breen and MMAFighting.com and Yahoo Sports’ Dave Doyle dig into Conor McGregor’s gay slur controversy, how notions of “locker room” talk have infected MMA, the bizarre and vitriolic ways in which some MMA fans have come to both defend McGregor while decrying a progressive media conspiracy, the fact that McGregor and UFC parent company Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel have fashioned themselves social justice allies in the public spotlight, and the implications for a sport and promotion actively pushing women’s divisions, which are increasingly populated by gay, lesbian and trans athletes.
Dave Doyle has been writing about MMA Fighting for major publications as long as just about anybody. Now a staff writer for SB Nation's MMAFighting.com and a columnist for Yahoo! Sports, Doyle wants to talk about being gay in an MMA fighting world that seems to take pride in being very, very straight. We delve into Doyle's personal life as well as his professional life as a once-closeted MMA writer. Plus we tackle his writing about transgender fighter Fallon Fox and how he feels about not being public about his sexual orientation as a member of the LGBT community got hammered by many in the MMA world for daring to dip her toe in their world. Doyle opens up about his life experiences in both personal and professional ways. Coming out publicly is just about the most powerful thing an LGBT person can do to advance acceptance of the entire community, and we're proud of Doyle for reaching out to Outsports to share his personal experiences on a very personal, yet very professional, journey. Have you ever been to Four Corners? It’s the only place in the U.S. where four states meet at one point. A few years back, there was some confusion over the position of a monument at Four Corners that marks this spot. Some reports claimed that the position of this marker was off by two and a half miles. Today, we’re revisiting a 2009 interview with Dave Doyle, chief geodetic surveyor from NOS’s National Geodetic Survey. As you’ll hear, Four Corners is exactly where it’s supposed to be — and the reason for that is that surveying isn’t only about taking precise measurements with sophisticated equipment, it's also about history, technology, and law. NOS's National Geodetic Survey is conducting a study on the National Mall to help the National Park Service understand the settling and shifting of the ground underneath the monuments on the National Mall, particularly after the August 2011 earthquake.
