O tom všem hovoří v dalším díle podcastu Host Reportéra.V první části rozhovoru se věnuje dalekým cestám, převážně do tropických krajů, které podniká od roku 1996 a o nichž napsal knihu Některé nevinnosti světa. Překvapuje tvrzením, že při svých výpravách přestává být zpěvákem a muzikantem. „Skoro nikomu nepřiznávám, jakou mám profesi,“ říká, „protože to je prdlý povolání.“Hudbě se nevěnuje ani v případě, kdy tráví dlouhé týdny na druhém konci světa s kolegy muzikanty: „Třeba roku 2000 jsme byli v Ekvádoru s Mírou Chyškou a Filipem Jelínkem, klukama z J.A.R. i tehdy vznikající Illustratosphery. Pokud se nepletu, muzice ani textům jsme se nevěnovali. Nechávali jsme se unášet tím, co nás obklopuje, a nezbyl na to čas. Bůh ví, jestli všechna naše muzika nevzniká z nudy tohoto světa.“V druhé části podcastu vypráví o dramatickém půlroce, který otřásl kapelou J.A.R. natolik, že teď přinejmenším na dlouhou dobu přeruší činnost. „Plácáme se v tom jako mouchy v mlíce,“ krčí rameny, „a můžeme jen věřit, že to nakonec nějak dobře dopadne.“Delší pauza je i podle Dana Bárty neodvratitelná. „Zatím je všechno tak nový a nahatý, že nad tím ani nemá cenu přemýšlet. Vylágroval se prostě důl a uvidíme, jakým způsobem bude probíhat rekultivace. Chvilku to musí hnít. Necháme se překvapit, co všechno samo vyroste na dně a jestli se to na novém základě dá ještě spravit.“I kdyby se J.A.R. vrátili, není pravděpodobné, že by s nimi mohl zpívat ve stejném rozsahu jako dřív. V podcastu otevřeně popisuje, nakolik vážné bylo letos na jaře jeho poškození sluchu a proč si ho musí už navždy více chránit. „Skutečně bylo ohrožené celé mé zpívání. Hrozilo, že přijdu o práci, tím pádem o výdělek, o radost, dál už se budu jen trýznit, polezu kanálama, všichni okolo mě odhalí jako nespolehlivý článek, tím pádem se budu cítit osamělejší… Není to nic jednoduchého.“Dnes už věří, že pravidelné koncerty například s jemnější Illustratospherou zvládne, ale divocí J.A.R. znamenají pro jeho uši risk. Přesto si s nimi zazpívá několik písní na možná posledním koncertě 17. listopadu v pražském Lucerna Music Baru. „Vybral jsem si ty, které lze hodně ztlumit. Obalím se různými chrániči sluchu, takže budu vypadat jako dement, ale nesmím pak vylézt ven na ulici zrakvenej a úplně hluchej, což se stalo letos v dubnu.“
