Mit ein Grund: Viele Patientinnen und Patienten suchen auch wegen Bagatellen oder einer simplen Grippe direkt den Notfall auf. Ein Vorstoss der GLP will Abhilfe schaffen. In der aktuellen Frühlingssession diskutiert der Nationalrat über einen Vorschlag seiner Gesundheitskommission: Wer in der Schweiz eine Notfallstation beansprucht, soll pauschal 50 Franken zusätzlich zum Selbstbehalt bezahlen. Die Gebühr soll Patientinnen und Patienten abschrecken, wegen Kleinigkeiten in eine Notaufnahme zu gehen – und so die Stationen entlasten. Die Gebühr wäre allerdings nicht obligatorisch für die ganze Schweiz. Die Kantone könnten freiwillig über eine Einführung entscheiden. Was sagen Befürworter des Vorstosses? Die Notfallstation zähle zu den teuersten Einrichtungen unseres Gesundheitswesens. Sie sollte nur bei schweren Verletzungen und Erkrankungen aufgesucht werden – nicht bei jedem «Bobo». Die Gebühr solle Betroffene auf die Frage sensibilisieren, ob der Notfall für ihr medizinisches Problem wirklich die richtige Adresse ist. So könnten jene Patientinnen schneller behandelt werden, die den Notfall wirklich dringend brauchen. Was sagen die Gegner? Aus der Gesundheitsbranche kommt breiter Widerstand. Die Gebühr verursache mehr Bürokratie und administrativen Aufwand und sei unfair gegenüber chronisch Kranken. Zudem zeige eine Erhebung der Krankenkasse Helsana: Der Anteil unnötiger Konsultationen sank von rund 10 Prozent im Jahr 2014 auf 6,4 Prozent im Jahr 2024. Viele Versicherte hätten zudem ein alternatives Versicherungsmodell (Telemedizin, Hausarzt etc.) gewählt und dürften mit Bagatellen gar nicht direkt ins Spital.
