In-between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, we Star Wars fans were given a cinematic "snack" in 2016 in the form of Rogue One, the first stand-alone/non-episode Roman numeral movie set in that galaxy far, far away. You could call it a "solo" movie, but that's actually something else that came along a couple years later! This one here deals with a bunch of characters you've never heard of before who managed to acquire and steal those plans for the Death Star, even though they never got any credit for it. Until NOW! There might not be too many familiar faces here, but the good news is there's no Jar Jar Binks and not a single Ewok anywhere to be found! This actually turned out to be a pretty excellent film, praised by most of the fans and fairly immune to the typical haters out there. It makes an excellent prelude to A New Hope, and features a brief but thrilling appearance by Darth Vader. Almost as thrilling: my special guest on the podcast is none other than Ed Marcus, who can bullseye a womp rat with his T16 (I've seen him do it) so he's qualified to share the cockpit on this hyperspace debate! Join the rebellion and listen now! Don't make me Force ya.
In 2015, after we'd all had about a decade to forget about those Star Wars prequels, we were given a New Hope (yeah, sue me, Lucas): our classic heroes would return in a follow-up to Return of the Jedi! But mixed in with some new characters we hope we won't hate. The director would be JJ Abrams, so hopefully all is not Lost! (Alright, I'll stop.) Sadly, it seems the big baddie is Darth Vader's angsty teenage grandson/fan who can't find an intimidating mask or get the voice right. There's another Death Star with a fancy name but unlike an iPhone, it doesn't really improve with each new update. On the plus side, we get Han! Chewie! Leia! (she's a General now, no more politics or princess nonsense) and if we're lucky, a dash of Luke Skywalker at the very end. A very fun movie that nearly lives up to the hype and expectations, The Force Awakens is our subject this time around, and my co-pilot is Ed Marcus (slightly less hairy than a wookiee, but just as dependable. Welcome back, Ed!).
To start off my 4th season, I thought I'd "whip up" a thrilling episode following the adventures of Harrison Ford's most celebrated earthbound character. Indiana Jones actually prefers hokey religions and ancient weapons to a good blaster at your side. But he still has a close encounter with some aliens and the once flawless franchise takes a plunge into the Temple of Dumb. At least we had Sean Connery in there for a bit. Joining me for this expedition is my longtime friend and fellow Iron Maiden aficionado Ed Marcus, and we have a lot of laughs and revelations here, but we're definitely off the map! If you listen to this episode, have a shovel handy, 'cause you're really gonna dig it! (OK, that was bad, but not as bad as Crystal Skull!)

Dr. Ed Marcus is a veteran of Korea and served in the Army medical corps in Japan and Korea. This was a culture shock for a young man from Brooklyn New York. Listen in as he tells host Jim Fausone that his Army service was the "most useful" experience of his life. Dr. Marcus, now in his 90s, reflects back on that experience from the vantage point of retirement as a successful pediatrician post service.

Here's how one of the show creators explains their reasoning:Jeff Greenstein: "When Marta & David & Jeff & I did 'Dream On', we used to spend a lot of time thinking about titles, because they were on-screen at the top of each episode. On "Friends", we decided that was a waste of time. We figured, why not name each episode after the thing that people will ostensibly be talking about around the water-cooler the next day?"
