Dodgers and their development of starting pitchers. John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com, chats with Puck about whether or not he feels Pete Rose should get in.  John is a voter for the Hall of Fame.  Mediation is underway between the Pac-12 and the Mountain West.  How long will it last and what does it mean for UNLV in terms of joining the conference?  John discusses that the conference needs expansion to be resolved by July 1, 2025.   The White House is exploring setting up a commission to address college football. Does John think that's a good idea?   Puck and John discuss a follow up story that John did on a very impressive 17 year old umpire from Oregon. It's a must listen.  John finishes with that he doesn't think Blazer fans should close the door on Phil Knight buying the team. Puck then plays an edited version of this weeks Sports Pit with Steve Sandmeyer and Matt “Stretch” Johnson.  Puck, Sandy and Stretch talk about their favorite batting stance as kids and that led Sandy to tell a great all-time classic story about his time as a clubhouse attendant at the Kingdome and an encounter with George Brett.  They also laughed as Sandy talked about Reggie Jackson and what a jerk he was to his buddy who was also a “clubby” at the same time as Sandy.  Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Angel Reese is not in the same stratosphere as Caitlyn Clark. (1:00) Puck on the M's win, Luis Castillo and Ben Williamson (10:30) Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio (35:40) John Canzano (1:03:55) Sports Pit *Edited (1:24:07) “Hey, What the Puck!?”

On Wednesday's Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, he's joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy and his weekly Seahawks guest, Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com.  Puck gave Ryan Divish, Seattle Times the week off because coming out on Thursday is Puck's Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Divish, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam from ROOT Sports. Puck and Jim open up the show discussing the Jake Dickert comments about Oregon State where he doesn't consider the Beavers his buddies.  That led to a conversation about the changing landscape of college football and will there be a day where all the West coast teams play in one conference again.  Puck plays a soundbite from WSU defensive tackle David Gusta about the world of the transfer portal and the world of tampering by other college coaches.  Gusta is Puck's guest this week on Coug's Corner, which you can find on YouTube, Apple, Spotify and up at PuckSports.com.  The NCAA and college football need to get a handle on tampering and the NIL before it truly gets out of hand. Before Jim leaves, both discuss the top of Ernest Jones and why so many people after just three games want to sign him up immediately.  Also, the boys had a good laugh at the decision looming for Jedd Fisch with who he's going to start at quarterback against Oregon.  Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett to discuss the Seahawks remarkable win over San Francisco.  Rob proclaims the 49ers finished and their window closed to make a run at the Super Bowl.  They discuss the up and down play of Geno Smith and get into the discussion of whether to pay him or not pay him.  It's a subject that is driving Rob mad! Should the Seahawks drop everything and sign Ernest Jones to a contract?  Rob and Puck are both an agreement that it's way too early and let the season play out before you come to any conclusion.  They also can't figure out why Pro Football Focus (PFF) does not like Jones.  Can you believe the Seahawks have a shot at first place in the NFC West?!  Puck and Rob can't and that's what makes sports fun. Puck than transitions to baseball and plays a preview of his Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Ryan Divish and Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. Also on the show, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam of ROOT Sports.  The full show is two-plus hours and will come out on Thursday, November 21 and is exclusively available to  Puck's Posse Community Members. You can visit PuckSports.com to sign up or head to Patreon.com and search PuckSports. The show covers the 2024 season and what lies ahead for the 2025 season and discusses if ownership is truly all in on investing in a World Series contender. Lastly, Puck wraps up with “Hey, What the Puck!?” It's time for the Mariners to jump into the deep end of the pool and play with the big boys. No more talking about championships. Prove it.

The FAN Morning Show goes into its final hour of the day with Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning talking about the Canadian men's national soccer team, as they're holding a camp this week in Toronto. The team will name their roster Friday for the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal series against Suriname, and the morning duo are joined by special guest, the beloved head coach of the squad, Jesse Marsch. Jesse gives the boys some insight into camp, the young squad participating and some names to watch out for in these two upcoming games. Besides previewing the two-legged contest, the hosting pair also get Jesse's take on what its been like since taking the job, the early success the team has had under him, what needs to get better and what his plan is to ensure that it will. The trio also take a few minutes to look ahead to the 2026 World Cup and what Jesse's hopes are for the team in that competition, before sharing how he feels more Canadian already and how soccer supporters across the nation have embraced him. To end today's show, B&B talk some baseball with former MLB GM and now MLB Network Radio analyst, Jim Duquette (26:25). They dive into the Juan Soto sweepstakes, which teams are legitimate pursuers of the superstar and if a bidding war between the Yankees and Mets is a real possibility. The trio also discuss the role Soto's agent, Scott Boras, could have in how his free agency goes and if he learned anything from the down year he had for his clients last offseason. To close, Ben and Brent get some thoughts from Jim on the Blue Jays; if they can compete in the A.L. East next season and what they need to make that happen, as well as how fan expectations can put some Toronto execs on the hot seat this year.   The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

On today's  Daily Puck Drop, Jason  “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore jump into the disaster that was the Cougars this weekend against Boise State , and reflect on the Mariners' disappointing season and the decision not to hold a formal press conference .Jim wrote a satirical press conference on how the Mariners end of the season presser should have sounded and it's hilarious!  Go check it out at PuckSports.com, on the blog tab. Why do the Mariners find themselves so unaccountable and why do we as fans seem to put up with their behavior.  They had over 35K people a day there this past weekend. Why??. Both Puck and Jim love the Seahawks +3.5 tonight against Detroit and feel that Geno Smith will once again shine in Detroit.  As Puck likes to point out as a smarts, the team that wins the trenches will win the game! Thanks tips.  Jim wonders if he should write a column on Lee Corso and whey he thinks he should be taken off College GameDay.  Puck, the mature one :), tells Jim not to write the column. Finally, they both find it funny that GameDay will be at Cal this Saturday for the Bears home game against Miami! Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio stops by for his final visit of the season.  They dive right into the Mariners failures this season and dissected what went wrong and how they could possibly fix it. Jim didn't like the decision for Jerry Dipoto not to do an official end of the year press conference and agreed that John Stanton, the owner should have been present to answer specific questions like why he decided to bring Dipoto and general manager Justin Hollander back for another season. Despite Dipoto saying his outfield is set, Puck and Duquette wonder if they will still try and move Randy Arozarena in the offseason.  Duquette is convinced that they will shot Luis Castillo.  The move would free up $72 million and bring some young talent back. Dipoto claims that they will not have any financial restraints, but they owe a lot of money in arbitration to a number of players and that won't leave them a lot once they are finished with those players.  Rundown00:00 Jim and Puck lament to the Cougars loss…Mariners season being over and the Seahawks taking on the Lions tonight in MNF10:54 Cougars still can't tackle 16:41 Mariners show themselves as cowards this past weekend 30:50 Why won't ownership acknowledge the Dipoto extension. On Monday's, Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore, former hosts at KJR,  discuss their weekend , including Jim's visit to Pullman and whether or not it's ok to buy your kids a half-gallon of booze? Jim and Puck can't figure out how the Cougars won on Friday night, but somehow they won the game, and they delve into the Mariners' playoff hopes and Puck tells Jim that he was wrong for rooting against them.  Because Jim and Puck are riding high on the Cougs, they put their money down on John Mateer winning the Heisman Trophy!   They switch gears to the Seahawks and talked about how they were able to win an ugly, sloppy game. Jim takes off to walk his dogs again, and Puck is joined by Tim Booth and Curtis Crabtree for their weekly “HawksNest” Show, where they breakdown the Seahawks win over the Dolphins.   The Seahawks were able to dominate the game on the defensive side, but how much is that because of the quarterback play for the Dolphins?  The season has been a pretty soft landing for Mike Macdonald and his new staff because they have faced Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett and Skylar Thompson.  The season will heat up next week when they take on the Detroit Lions.  They turn their attention to the offensive line.  It played better at times, but Anthony Bradford has been a disaster and why has Christian Haynes not taken over at the spot yet?  Regardless of the opponent, the Seahawks are 3-0 and have a two game lead in the NFC West thanks in part to a number of injuries affecting the other teams. Seattle must take advantage of the situation and they currently are doing that. Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio stops by to talk all things baseball.  They both marvel at Shohei Ohtani and Puck wonders out loud if he could get 60/60???   The Dodgers have the most pressure going into the season on them, but what are they missing and will that prevent them from winning the whole thing?  Who are currently the best teams in the AL and NL?  Jim's answer for the American League may surprise you and it will definitely anger you!  Jim and Puck discuss how the Mariners, if they don't get in, just completely blew a huge opportunity this season especially with how poorly teams like the Royals and Twins have played down the stretch.   Julio Rodriguez has turned his season around and a lot of credit has gone to Edgar Martinez. Puck asks Jim if Julio needs to ditch his personal hitting coach in Florida and just work exclusively with Edgar in the offseason.  Jim also offered Julio some advice to how he should handle this upcoming offseason. Lastly, Puck wraps up with, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck acknowledges that Chris Egan was right about him being a bad fan and wanting the Mariners to lose games so the season would end.   Puck also announces the release of the PuckSports Mobile App which you can now download from the app store for iPhone users.  The android version for Google Play will be out soon!  You can now listen to the “Daily Puck Drop” live on your phone daily starting at 10am! Rundown00:00 Jim is back from a weekend spent in Pullman for Dad's weekend! 13:03 Jim asks Puck if it's ok to buy your kids a half-gallon of booze?21:16 Cougs somehow win on Friday and they can't figure out how?!30:44 Seahawks win an ugly game and all that matter is that they are 3-039:52 Mariners' playoff hopes on life support 44:43 Jim and Puck place $50 bucks down on John Mateer winning the Heisman at 33-1 48:48 “HawksNest” with Curtis Crabtree & Tim Booth 01:19:16 Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio, on all things baseball and the Mariners collapse 01:45 “Hey, What the Puck!?   Puck admits that Chris Egan was right…He was being a bad fan!

Jim and Puck speculate on if the Cougs can now run the table with their schedule. Curtis Crabtree and Tim Booth stop by to talk Seahawks on the “HawksNest.”   The top storyline is the play of Geno Smith and how that was without a doubt the best game he's ever played in a Seahawks uniform.  They touch in on the play of the offensive line and try to figure out what they can do to improve the play of their guards, specifically Laken Tomlinson and Anthony Bradford.  They praised the way that Ryan Grubb called the game and decided to target his best players in JSN and DK, as they combined to have 30 targets in the game.  One concern from the game was the play of the defense in that they allowed 185 yards on the ground.  Jim Duquette, of MLB Network Radio stops by for his weekly visit talking Mariners and other top MLB storylines.  Puck and Jim are amazed that the Mariners are still in the playoff race but Jim warns Puck and M's fans that if they barley make it in or barely miss the reaction and emotions from fans should be the same and that is that this year was a disappointment.  Because the division was so bad and Houston was so banged up the Mariners should have rolled the division and they did not.  Jim tells Puck that it's paramount that Edgar Martinez stays on as hitting coach next season because it's clear he's made a difference with the team and specifically Julio.  At the end of the chat, Jim says there is no way that Shohei Ohtani pitches in the playoffs, despite Dodgers manager Dave Roberts hinting at the possibility. Lastly, “What the Puck!?” Puck talks about his good friend Ian Furness being named the new television studio host for the Seattle Kraken. Rundown00:00 Puck and Jim can't stop smiling about the Apple Cup win! 06:26 Mateer is a stud 08:46 Puck tells Jim about the game experience and making it there by halftime 10:07 Jedd Fisch was a disaster as a head coach on Saturday 12:40 Back to Mateer…Give him the Heisman! :) 14:21 Can the Cougs run the table??19:52 Puck tells Jim about rushing the field with his kids 28:51 Husky fans should crush Fisch for the decisions he made Saturday 34:47 Jim is headed to Dad's weekend, and asks Puck for his tickets…Should Puck give him the tickets for free?39:31 “HawksNest” Curtis Crabtree & Tim Booth breakdown the Seahawks win 42:39 Geno Smith was sensational 45:55 Offensive line issues for the Hawks, but did they play better?51:51 Thank god for Ryan Grubb as offensive coordinator! 56:40 Defense took a step back 01:01:10 Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio…M's are still alive01:05:49  Despite better play, Mariners ownership needs to be held accountable 01:11:41 Keeping Edgar Martinez around…They need him 01:14:45 Even if the Mariners make it, still is a massive disappointing season for Seattle.
