This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! The Haunted Hales Bar Dam: where tourists come for the scenery, fishermen come for the catch, and ghosts come…because they're kind of stuck here. This historic dam has it all: a murdered woman desperately trying to spill her long-forgotten tea, a demonic entity that thinks the tunnels are its personal stomping grounds, and full-bodied apparitions that love photobombing ghost hunters. Oh, and did we mention the spirits of those entombed in the dam's walls? They're not going anywhere, and neither are their spooky stories. Join us as we dive into the murky waters of Hales Bar Dam, where the past is as restless as the Tennessee River. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! The words Haunted and Abandoned are at times synonymous with one another. From a young age, James Edward Garcia was fascinated with the paranormal. From witnessing his grandmother practicing Sanitaria to hearing voices and objects moving, the supernatural was a fact of life for James. James decided to take his interest and understanding of the undead to a new level as he grew older by personally investigating and documenting haunted and abandoned locations that the living had forgotten. James has documented and investigated ghosts all over the country, from the Queen Mary to the Hales Bar Dam to an Abandoned Asylum in Long Island. He has also suffered oppression and attachments while visiting locations infested with spirits. What continues to draw James back to the physical homes of the dead? This is Part Two of our conversation. Hales Bar Dam in Tennessee was built on ground reported to be cursed by a great Cherokee warrior. That, plus the fact it saw a number of tragic deaths on site both during and after construction, makes it one of the most haunted sites in Tennessee today. Its just another house, right? That's what Michelle McClane Woods thought when her and her husband moved into a “fixer upper” in 2015. As they slowly began to make the house their “home”, they would slowly learn that the previous owner, may still be there. And, they may not be all that happy about the “changes” that Michelle and her husband were making to the property. Would they ever make peace with the entity who liked “her way” of doing things, versus the new young couples? Today we hear her story of life in the house and investigating the dead. PART 2 - AVAILABLE TO GRAVE KEEPERS ONLY - LISTEN HERE In part two of our interview, available only to Grave Keepers, we discuss: Can a curse ever be removed from a piece of land once one is cast on it? Who was the woman searching for a child at the Hales Bar Dam? Was there a way to for Michelle to help the woman find her child? Who was the man on the fourth floor of the Hales Bar Dam who was electrocuted? Constructed from 1905-1913 primarily to hold back the whirlpools along the Tennessee River, the Hales Bar Dam in Tennessee was the nation's first hydroelectric dam. Unfortunately, it was also built on cursed land. According to legend, Native American War Chief Dragging Canoe cursed the land on March 17, 1775 after the controversial Treaty of Sycamore Shoals was signed. He said that the land would be “dark and bloody” to any who attempted to live there.
